It's not just that. He knows you can't have your cake and eat it to in this league. Belichick has built that team with a vision, he brings players into a system. The Pats are the one team in the league that I'd say is built correctly. They pay their OL and they pay their QB, which is what you do if you want to win. Welker won't be there next year, but the team will continue on like nothing happened.

Case in point: the cat STARTED a former RAIDERS PRACTICE SQUAD CB in the AFC championship against us, and look, the kid makes the play to win them the game.

There seems to be too much favoritism here. No sense of urgency when one underperforms. In NE, someone like Mike Oher would be LONG gone, for example. It really hurts us in the long run; if the object of evaluating these players is to put out the single best collection of offense, defense and special teams every Sunday, there's no reason for many of these players to be in uniform

Dude if Michael Oher played for New England, Brady would've cut his throat. That guy does not like getting sacked. But we're definitely on the same page.

Ray needs to retire , reed needs to retire , both are overpaid (now) , injured , and their positives are so minimal
[/quote]

Even if Ray retires, his guaranteed money still counts against the cap. It'll help, but a bad contract prevents that from being a true solution. Fact of the matter is, this team is probably screwed for the next couple of years.

i agree. i think ed reed and ray lewis are getting in the way of this teams future with their production vs their paycheck. im sorry but ray isn't worth the money hes paid just to be the inspirational leader. ed reed has 0 value at this point as well. always out of position and tackles with his hands behind his back. and hes asking for MORE money !?!?! Combine that with giving Ngata a ridiculous amount of money and bam.. you're in a cap hole. we've also screwed up draft wise by being in fantasy land with getting someone across from suggs and ignoring other needs as a result. nobody can forget about keeping cam for this long too. our FO has done a good job keeping this team in contention but the amount of mistakes they've made as well should not be overlooked.

True but I think there is still a realized savings of 3+ million after the hit , plus the larger issue is him taking up a spot that a younger more talented player could use , which is showing itself now with the terrible lack of depth at lb and safety .

1) Tons of money tied up in Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, who don't produce anywhere near what they are paid. Ed Reed is constantly out of position and can't tackle his way out of a paper bag.

2) Let arguably our best OL go in Grubbs. We had a great inside run game last year, can't run our way out of a paper bag this year. Our OL is putrid, Yanda is the only bright spot.

3) Let an entire side of our defense walk in JJ and Redding.

4) No depth on defense, because all the money is tied up in Ray and Ed. The defense is putrid with Vanilla Pees. Injuries blahblahblah, but what happened to the mantra of next man up? We can't afford it because of ridiculous contracts. Ngata is included as well, he has either underperformed since being paid OR the other team doesn't have to worry about blocking anybody else.

5) No impact players drafted or signed on defense lately other than Pollard.

6) Kept Cam Cameron around 2 or 3 years too long. Replaced Pagano with Vanilla Pees. Harbaugh has no idea how to manage time, challenges or time outs.

Thats the dumbest thing i ever heard. We should have dropped more on the defense and less on tools for Flacco. I mean he has all the tools available so he can just over throw them or as a time saver just give them the ball. Joe is good at both so i think he is Denvers player of the game and gets a game ball.

We need a solid defense because if Joe gets behind he starts making huge glaring mistakes. If at all possible, trade away offensive talent so they can be used and build a solid defense. Joe blows so let's just face it. He is Denvers MVP way to go joe.

Ill tell you where the front office has failed and its getting a strong oline in place for Flacco.

They let Grubbs walk ,still have Oher out of position, Have a horrific done Birk at Center and Osemele
out of postion(HEs a guard folks in the NFL) .Get Yanda(our best lineman) out with an injury and you get what you got today, a pure offensive
fiasco.

You are absolutely right. The game is won and lost in the trenches. Right now, both our OL and DL sucks.
