MERGED: Week 15 Positive Thoughts Threads

65 posts in this topic

I am not relaxed .I am PISSED!

However ,I am now fully convinced that we are going nowhere this year so any victory in any upcoming game will
be a surprise to me .

We have simply too many injuries and a terrible oline that without Yanda could be one of the worst in the league.

Flacco gets hit alot like today and hes a different QB,should i say a bad QB . Im sure Del Rio knows get to Flacco early and hit him hard and he will get the "deer in the headlights look

Yep. No way he deserves that lucrative contract that he was said to be looking for.
I can definitely see this FO pay him though...there's no better option available is there? Are we really going to start back from square one?

Hopefully the FO can find middle ground. He's going to get paid but top-five paid? Hell no.

One would think so. But can you imagine the sparkling recommendation he'd get from Harbaugh?

"He made some great plays out there. I love the way he FOUGHT this year, FOUGHT"

Why relax? This team has lost 3 in a row and trending downwards. We're a 1 and done playoff team, that should be obvious.

Fans have a right to be pissed when the entire team yucks it up week after week.

People tend to forget e.g. Eli today, Big Ben in San Diego (first half last week) and all the other QBs in the same league as Flacco. They all have really awful games or quarters every now and then.
Eli and Ben have 4 Super Bowl rings. Flacco's name doesn't even belong in the same sentence as these two.

Just sayin'.

Oh yeah. Harbaugh probably sells recommendations so well that Cam Cameron as GM could be in the works.

If you were on the forums this time last week than you know that we had about a 20% chance of winning this game. And it didnt turn out TOO bad. A loss is a loss is a loss, but atleast we kept fighting and finished with 17 points it could have been worse but hell we were going up against the second best defense (passing and rushing) in the league.

Most people will complain "why did rice only get 12 rushes?!? Ohh Jim Caldwell is terrible!"
Well because we were down by a ton so we had to throw.

Others will say "Flacco looks like Sh***! lets bring out tyrod taylor!"-Most ravens fans will crack a smile, chuckle, and look forward to a better game next week. Yea Flacco has to learn not to turn the ball over in the redzone amongst other things but atleast he never gave up, and there were far worse QBs this week--Josh Freeman got benched for throwing 4ints 0TDs, and Eli Manning threw 0TDs and 2INts.

As far as our offense there were some sparks and improvments out there, obviously it needs time to gel but I think it will get much better.

Our defense held the MVP hopeful to only 200 yds and 1 td, I thought our secondary played good for the most part, but obviously still allowed 3 tds and nearly 400 yards of tot offense. But it did better than expected.

I dont fear our team losing out. After watching the Giants today they scored no touchdowns at all, there offense has had trouble all year passing the ball, and there runningback corps are banged up and young. I think we can beat them quite honestly, the giants arent that great. And now we need to seriously get into eye of the tiger beast mode and start chasing the playoffs.

And we beat the bengals once and they are still a young and shaky team. I think we can winn 11 games this season.

So lets not start the "Tyrod!" chants or the "offseason rebuild" posts. have faith in our team and lets hope that things will turn around next week.
Our defense played to win this game. Until Flacco fumble, overthrows and INT that turned into pick 6, we were in the game.

I know right? OP is straight Harbaughing right now.

Harbaugh (v.) -- remaining mind-numbingly, stubbornly positive in bleak situations

examples anyone?

I was very excited to see that bomb to Jacoby Bryant Jones and see our offense creep towards the endzone. VERY dissapointing turnover by Flacco, like I said above-if Flacco can improve on 1 thing it is endzone recognition- taking no sacks, throwing no picks and never fumbling, that is elite QB savvy and Flacco def needs to improve on it.

Because we have the hardest last stretch of games-besides the games we shot ourselvs in the foot for like the steelers game and even last week and let me tell you I was pissed as hell. But only 3 teams beat the Broncos- Falcons, Texans, and Patriots so I knew along with a lot of other fans that we would most likely lose this week. We have the Giants next week which have been one of the most inconsistent offenses in the league this season and they lost there one consistent weapon in there rushing attack with Bradshaw struggling to stay healthy and and young fumble prone runners to start in place of em. I think we can win nexrt week and week 17. Obviously next week will be tough but I think we can pull through, the Giants are not as intimidating as the Broncos, our passing game has a big chance to take advantage of a secondary that allows huge plays and a lot of points. And the Bengals are the Bengals, they were red hot last year heading into the post season and we beat them, so I think things can go for the better going into the playoffs. BUT they might not in which case as fans we can be mad sad angry what ever, but you should still keep your heads up and look to next season. Alot of good teams are going to have there seasons come to an end its football, you should just hope that we do what we need to do over the offseason to improve and come out better next year, BUT im hoping we will make a splash in post season.

We need offensive line help but not with the first pick. Ray and Ed are at the end of their careers, Suggs might not come back the same after these injuries that he's suffered, and we don't know how Webb will bounce back a second ACL injury. Not to mention we have a real chance at losing Kruger to someone willing to pay him for his production. The defense needs to be the main priority. Our O-Line could potentially benefit from an offensive philosophy change more than taking another offensive lineman which is not going with a system that relies on long developing routes.

Eli, Ben, Tom and Aaron won their first Super Bowls within 3 years as starting QBs.

Not sure why people think Flacco is going to wake up and be a great QB one day. He's nowhere close to these guys as far as talent goes.

When is anyone going to talk about the true reality here? Injuries. Half of our defense is OUT. One third of our offense is OUT.
Yeah, I'm playing the injury card. Why? Because it's a fact. We can't expect to win with this new group of starters. Period!

You are now comparing Flacco to Eli ? Who has won the big game multiple times while Flacco has regressed so far back that he looks lost in the pocket, decision making is very bad and takes way to long making them. The way he hangs receivers out to dry is probably the worst i have seen since Boller. Back to Back weeks he left torrey in mid air to take a shot because Joe has over thrown yet another pass. To compare him to Eli is a joke. Joe does not compare to any top 5 QB's and i have trouble fitting him into the top ten unless i am feeling very good.

If we had not had the defense we did since he came in he would have a much different record. He needs to thank the D for his new contract which in all seriousness should be between 9 and 11 per year tops. You play like a scrub you get paid like a scrub. If not oh well. Good luck Rivers Jr.

You wouldn't believe it. But on this board, there use to be Kyle Boller homers just as adamant as Flacco apologist that thought he'd wake up one day too. Then they woke up and saw how putrid he is elsewhere and changed their names into something else.

Too bad mods banned me for going against Boller. It was ridiculous. :/

A legit LT would do wonders. Legit LT-KO-Gino-Yanda-Oher, sounds pretty good to me.

I know Joe can make all the throws and I know he had a terrible game today. He overthrew guys and he threw a pick six. The pick six is on him, I'm not arguing that, although I do wonder why we didn't take a timeout there. I think his overthrowing problem has more to do with how uncomfortable he is behind that line. He lets the ball go early and it sails because of it, he lets it go early because he doesn't want to get hit, he doesn't want to get hit because he gets hit enough and often fumbles because of it. He can make the throws, he needs to be comfortable just like any other QB in the league. The Oline also did a horrible job at creating lanes for the RBs.

After that, it's a defensive draft. If we somehow get a legit LT in FA then it's an all D draft.
