MERGED: Week 15 Positive Thoughts Threads

65 posts in this topic

Hard to put up this one.... We sucked as a whole today... Most of you will blame it on Joe! It was not his fault.

This was his first game with a new OC..... Same system, but new plays added, I expected a blowout! I just hope we can win another game.... So nope, to me this loss was not on Flacco, but rather a growing pain game. The two turnovers were his fault, but why the hell were we passing on first and goal? To me that is a playcalling thing.

Cary Sucks Torrey hurt, the usual. Injuries and sucking.

First off....
Doss lookeed good, he earned a starting job.
Jacoby is Jacoby
Flacco suffered a bit from drops.
Moreno got me fantasy points :)
Torrey is one hell of an athlete and is a #1 reciver.
The new OC showed me some new plays for the future....
If Pit loses, the division is ours anyway.

Now if we can get Ray and Pollard back... We are golden!

Blame this on Flacco all day, you can't be serious. Overthrowing wide open WRs, a pick 6 inside the 5 on a hurry up play with multiple timeouts still left he holds on to the ball too long while staring down Boldin, slow reads, poor decision making. Flacco was terrible today.

I'm done defending Flacco.

The only reason he'll be back starting for us is due to a weak draft class and free agency pool for quarterbacks. He's the best of a terrible situation. Congrats, Joe, you may not be top 5 in the league, but at least you're top 19. There's only 13 quarterbacks worse than you, and that's including Sanchez, Skelton, Foles, and Quinn.

Flacco deserves just as much of the blame as any of the reasons you stated and probably more. However, I do agree our offense won't go in a different direction as far as production until after the season when we search for another offensive coordinator.

Yep. No way he deserves that lucrative contract that he was said to be looking for.

Yeah those bad decisions and overthrows weren't his fault, and Caldwell was fine, just a little better.
Come on man.

The ONLY good was Pitta. Everything else is and was garbage. When you need almost a quarter and a half to get ONE first down, then end your only good drive of a half with a 90+ yard interception return, there's nothing "positive" about it.

Joe completely ruined the great performance the defense was giving the entire first half. As Raven fans we all should know all too well this situation. The completely inept offense continually put the defense on the field after three and outs, tired them out, and caused them to run out of gas.

If you were on the forums this time last week than you know that we had about a 20% chance of winning this game. And it didnt turn out TOO bad. A loss is a loss is a loss, but atleast we kept fighting and finished with 17 points it could have been worse but hell we were going up against the second best defense (passing and rushing) in the league.

Most people will complain "why did rice only get 12 rushes?!? Ohh Jim Caldwell is terrible!"
Well because we were down by a ton so we had to throw.

Others will say "Flacco looks like Sh***! lets bring out tyrod taylor!"-Most ravens fans will crack a smile, chuckle, and look forward to a better game next week. Yea Flacco has to learn not to turn the ball over in the redzone amongst other things but atleast he never gave up, and there were far worse QBs this week--Josh Freeman got benched for throwing 4ints 0TDs, and Eli Manning threw 0TDs and 2INts.

As far as our offense there were some sparks and improvments out there, obviously it needs time to gel but I think it will get much better.

Our defense held the MVP hopeful to only 200 yds and 1 td, I thought our secondary played good for the most part, but obviously still allowed 3 tds and nearly 400 yards of tot offense. But it did better than expected.

I dont fear our team losing out. After watching the Giants today they scored no touchdowns at all, there offense has had trouble all year passing the ball, and there runningback corps are banged up and young. I think we can beat them quite honestly, the giants arent that great. And now we need to seriously get into eye of the tiger beast mode and start chasing the playoffs.

And we beat the bengals once and they are still a young and shaky team. I think we can winn 11 games this season.

So lets not start the "Tyrod!" chants or the "offseason rebuild" posts. have faith in our team and lets hope that things will turn around next week.

MAYBE I should've written self claimed, but I guess he also doesn't believe in that now.
Him and Cary both suffered from the sin of hubris and they pay now..too bad the whole team is paying as well.

Everyone expected a loss today. Ravens lost, people go mental?!

It was pretty easy to see what sucked today. Still, we are three weeks away from the playoffs and on both sides of the ball plenty of the reserves got to play and did a good job. I actually believe that this will do Ravens good down the line. Get some starters back in January and the Ravens might win one or two.

This season's biggest disappointment must be to realize that Flacco will not be a new Brady after all. However, it's ridiculous to call for a replacement. I still believe that there is talent enough on the D to rebuild a Ravens D-first team, and quality running backs to carry the load on offense, which would lead Flacco to be a game manager, as he has been for years.

People tend to forget e.g. Eli today, Big Ben in San Diego (first half last week) and all the other QBs in the same league as Flacco. They all have really awful games or quarters every now and then.

Ummmmm...... you give Peyton that many times at it ( can someone check how many times that Denver O had possession of the ball b/c we had a million 3 and outs it seems ) he will throw for 3 TD's on any D in the league, any D. Plus, throw in the fact that on most of those TD's, if not all of them, he started with great field position, we did great on D.

hate to turn on my team like this, but wow, that was a pathetic showing. at home in front of a national audience, no less. it left a sour taste in my mouth, and frankly i think the only positive notes were how our d stepped up to the best of their ability and of course jacoby. in short, Flacco was horrible, o-line was horrible, 4th quarter was nice but too little too late.

I'm afraid I'm joining the Flacco-hate bandwagon today.

Never should have stopped building the defense as we went all out to get Joe the tools to succeed and all he does is overthrow and get them hurt like i stated last week and what happens he hangs Torrey out to dry for the 2nd week in a row. Great going Joe you just took away your best tool jack [profanity deleted] !! We need a very good offense and allow joe to hand off the ball and do short drops. Nothing to complicated as he always finds a way to screw things up.

Thanks for getting Torrey hurt and Thanks for giving your all Suggs just to see Flacco play like Flacco yet again. I know you have to be very happy.

There's so much wrong here, I'm sorry. Let me do this step by step.

Doss didn't do anything to earn a starting job, but he was surely impressive. Still no more than a #3 if not only due to the stubbornness of our coaching staff.

Jacoby, I agree there.

Flacco suffered because of chronic inaccuracy issues that are truly disparaging because one would believe this is the stuff you work on in practice; obviously doesn't seem to be the case

IDK about you but I never start an opponent against the Ravens in fantasy, but that's just me. Benched Demaryius and Peyton and was actually very happy about that.

Torrey is an athlete but is limited in his route running ability and does not get consistent separation. When he does, hands are 50-50 as well. He is no more than a #2, change of pace WR.

New OC had a very timid and conservative game plan. I'll go easier on this response because the sample size is so small but it was concerned because Caldwell said there wouldn't be major changes, but this had the look of a team that was fresh out of training camp, multitude of errors.

PIT is gonna lose!!!!
