Ravens Vs Giants
Who will win this matchup that has been stirring everyone on both of the teams message boards?

Give me a reason why which team will come away with the win. Im not gonna predict a winner but a score.

Ravens

The Ravens front 7 are good at stopping any teams running game and making that team 1 dimensional.
Thats not a luxury for the Ravens though because the Giants actually have a pretty good passing game.
The secondary for the Ravens will need to step up otherwise the Giants may end up taking the game away through the air.
Joe Flacco has shown he can perform even against stout defenses. Can he do it with a team that has had success in the pass rush with only 4 down linemen?
With Derrick Mason being listed as questionable will Flacco struggle in the pass game?
The Ravens bread and butter will be its rushing attack that consists of Willis McGahee, LeRon McClain & Ray Rice.
Each of the RBs have their own unique style of running and are good at catching passes as well as getting yards upfield.

Giants

The Giants front 4 are no questionable the best line to get pressure with them and them alone.
If the Ravens offense does step up and keep them from getting to Flacco will they expose their secondary just to have that extra guy blitz at the line?
The Ravens will have a tough time against the running game as well because the Giants have their own 3 RBs that can get the job done.
The Giants will rely on BJ a lot during the running game. If he manages to get to the Ravens secondary then you could probably see him go all the way to the house for a TD.
If the run game gets shut down then the Giants can always fall back on their QB Eli Manning to get them there.
With great WRs in Burress, Smith, Toomer and TE Boss the Ravens secondary will have their hands full.

Both teams are looking to prove something.
Giants are proving that as defending Super Bowl Champions their win in the Super Bowl wasnt a fluke
&
the Ravens are trying to prove that their 6 and 3 record is not that way because of facing teams with losing records

Itll be a fun game to watch... Heres the score

23-27

Should be somewhere around there.
Give me your thoughs people.
I am not going to lie, I would love to see the Ravens win (plus one of my friends is a Giants fan and he is going to give me so much crap) but I dont see it happening. I am not sure if this will even be close.

I dont think that our defense is going to be able to shut down the passing game. It has been our weakness throughout the year with the injuries. But the way I look at it is that the fact that the Ravens are

in a rebuilding stage and you have to admit that NO ONE thought the Ravens would be at this record in the beginning of the year. I predict.......34-27 giants

Wow! Why are people predicting this game to have the teams go into double digits. I think 13 is good, but anything above 15 is pushing it. But I'm not going to make a prediction, because the last time I did, we got torched by Peyton Manning. So, I'll keep my mouth shut for now.
Ravens by too close to call

Joe's going to continue his performance and show that the Colts game was a fluke (or that the Colts have a supply of purple Kryptonite).

I LOVE THAT PICTURE! I hope it comes true!

You can never afford a loss unless you have clinched the division lol
I would say in all 16 games, we can't afford a loss. Some people are calling this as a must win though. I really do not think this is a must win. If anything this game is an assessment as to where we stand in the NFL. I'm hoping for a win or at least a tough close battle. The Ravens have surprised me so much this year, that right now every thing is gravy on my plate. But this will be a tough game for us. Anybody that thinks otherwise is ignorant.

There are still 6 games left in the season. So a loss here, will not be the end of our playoff chase. The must win game comes in December against the Steelers. Even if we fall one game behind here, we still have a chance of drawing even with the Steelers. The head-to-head tie-breaker would be tie. So we can be actually "tied" in the standings. We just have to beat a common opponent that they lost too. Luckily we both lost to the Colts. The Steelers lost to the Giants. But we have to make sure we beat the Redskins if we lose this game.
I think the division is going to go down to the VERY LAST games... I think the Ravens still have a good chance of winning the division...hopefully the Chargers (as desperate as they are) will go in and win

away against the Steelers.

This game is going into double digits. The defenses will take advantage of the QBs and push the score into the 20s.

This is not must win in any way shape or form, but with a win this will solidify the beginning of the Flacco Era. The Ravens can only "lose" if Flacco gets Colted again (and not Lose in the W/L column kinda way).

I have this feeling that this will be one of those years where the division will be close. I'm thinking tied at the end of the season. The game in Baltimore against the Steelers will be huge. We'll probably be one game down or tied with the Steelers and we will win (In my vision). And I do agree, it will be a battle to the very last game. (This is only a gut feeling, nothing more)

I do think that San Diego can and will win in Pittsburgh. San Diego is always very resilient in the regular season. And they really need to win this game.

Although the AFC is noticeably weaker this year in that there are no truly elite teams, 10-6 may not get you in. Thankfully, we have a strong in conference record, but with a ton of mediocre/good teams, 10-6 might leave you out of the equation.

I think 10-6 will be enough.
AFC East is going to clobber each other out of the Wild Card race and West just sucks and could have an 8-8 division winner.

The Colts have a pretty week schedule and will be the team to win out on in the WC race.

I say 21-17 Ravens. G-Wheez try to establish the running game early, sadly they have under 50 yards rushing for the day due to Ray and company's commitment to stopping the run. G-Wheez also throws several men in the box to stop the run and let Flacco beat them with his arm. Unforunately they didnt take notes during the scouting tape of the Browns second game with the Ravens or they would know 8 men in the box doesnt work with Flacco's ability to find the open receiver and throw quick out pattern as of late. Pee-li gets pressured most of the day. Look for Ngata to have 2+ sacks.

"For the Ravens with their rookie running back, rookie quarterback and rookie head coach I am really impressed with the job that they do and that's what they need. They were playing for years there with excellent defense, good running game, no quarterback. Now they have those things and a good quarterback. It's amazing to me the way these rookies are playing right now in the NFL. " John Madden

most people wrote us off for the this Game , madden hasn't he has stated basicly the giants need to be there with PIN point precision or the Game is already over one slip up we capitalize then its over

Swirling 20-30 mph winds for the game today according to CBS and that will affect Eli a LOT more than Joe because Eli doesn't have near the velocity on his throws. Joe throws so hard the wind will be less of a factor but Eli has lots of touch passes and lobs which could really affect his accuracy today in the wind while Joe's throwing style and speed is more adaptable to bad conditions.

I would think the wind is in our advantage. As we have proven we can stop the run. If the wind is bad enough, we can focus even more on the run. Plus I think Flacco has a stronger arm than Eli (IMO) , I remember that wind game Eli had last year, and he looked horrible.

Bingo. I'm with ya PuRock. Wind gives Eli more problems than Bazooka Joe. By the way did you just see the CBS special on Joe and Matt Ryan. Very well done, equal balance and time, and it was like a Q & A round and highlight reel. Very nice. I was impressed.
If we are being unbiased, I dont think the Ravens have a shot in hell at winning this game. They are more the welcome to serve me some crow but I dont see it. I cant find one matchup on paper that actually favors us, given how both teams have played so far. But for the sake of being a homer:

Ravens 28- Giants 3
And to think I almost felt bad about saying this.
24 - 13 Giants. :(
Did I win?

Edit: Actually, had that Stover field goal not been blocked, I would have guessed correctly. The Ravens would have added three points, and the Giants would have six less as they ended up missing the extra point after the touchdown. Damn you, Stover!
