The Other Manning.... NYG vs Ravens

This game is a toss up because they are both lucky to be where they are. To me the deciding factor is which Giants defense shows up.If they play to potential we are screwed. Our defense if playing above potential is still weak. If our offense shows up we might make it a game but if our offense shows up and the Giants defense shows up we are in another losing situation and no home field for a play off game.

holding him to a zero rating before: we were much healthier then. unless pollard, ellerbe, yanda and ray all come back this week we're either squeaking out an ugly win or rolling with a 4 game losing streak.
maybe, eli can be rattled and turnover prone, actually leads the league at 88 since 09, but the two lombardis mean more and overshadow this fact, which leads me to joe flacco, who turns it over at crucial moment shifting game changing moments and leads to losses, mostly in the playoffs, unlike eli. its looking like a 13 to 9 contest in our favor, or a repeat of last week in their favor. either way, were 'backing' in to the playoffs...

IMO, and i'm sure many people's opinion, it all depends what Giants team shows up. Their secondary hasn't been that good all season, obviously I'm worried about their pass rush with JPP, Osi, and Tuck. The good thing is, Osi sucks at run stopping, and from what i know, Tuck isn't that good either.

On offense, Bradshaw may be out again, and that would be good for us. David Wilson is fumble-prone (the main reason he hasn't played much). Eli is off and on. And he obviously has weapons to throw to in Cruz, Nicks, and a tall TE in Bennett that he can depend on in the red-zone.

If we win Giants are not making playoffs, but we need this because I'd rather have 4th seed over 6th seed. Colts or Pats?

Couple of miss timed turnovers by Eli. 12th man in full force. A no turnover performance from Joe...we win!!!! Maybe I have my purple glasses on, but I'm rolling with that.

Go Ravens!! Make it happen, rest the boys last game of the season and go deep in the playoffs!!!

Ravens will win. The giants don't blitz alot they depend on their front 4 for pressure alot of times, with that being said if our oline can block and if flacco gets rid of the ball quickly (hopefully completions) we will win this game.

Where have you been at, that's Flacco number 1 weakness. When teams blitz, Flacco has more success than when teams drop back 7-8 people. Cover 2 with just rushing your front 4 has proven to be a big weakness for us. Sure, we put up a lot of points on the Bengals first game of the year which showed that we can have great success vs that type of scheme but it was one game so was it a fluke or not?

Hello Ravens fans. Giants fan here, I hate to say it but as inconsistant as Eli is its really hard to predict this game. This weekend will be my first trip to you stadium. I have heard nothing but awesome things about it. i know you are the home team, i have a question, i have been to a lot of stadiums some are down right ignorant towards the visiting teams. im an old man haha, I am traveling with some other Giants fans, is it safe to wear our Giants gear? I know there is a lot of heckling etc, but let me tell you, I went to Philly, Buffalo and even Cleveland and you DONT want to be seen in the opposing team stuff. I really hope we have a great day for the game and we have a good game to see. Its too bad one of us will lose (maybe not), its two teams I enjoy watching but being a Giants fan I have to pull for them. Best of luck to the Ravens.

Injury report for the Giants, in case you Ravens fans were wondering.

As others have noted, Pierre-Paul, Boley and Hosley not on this week's injury report, so that's a good sign.

[background=rgb(245, 245, 245)]Coughlin said Phillips is "rested + ready to contribute." He'll practice. Amukamara will test hamstring in practice today[/background]

[background=rgb(245, 245, 245)]Bradshaw won't practice. Tuck probably banged shoulder in game, Coughlin said. Said he can deal with it, just as he did last year.[/background]

[background=rgb(245, 245, 245)]Baas, Snee, Nicks won't practice. Coughlin thinks Canty will go.[/background]

Mind your manners. Rember whose house you are in, you will be fine.
One other thing DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT bring up Ray Lewis's legal troubles from way back when. Raven fans are very protective of him. Opposing fans that bring that up get treated poorly.

Thank you for visiting our stadium and supporting our local businesses.

Welcome friend and we are in the same boat. Our offense has been less then good for a few games and this should be a telling game if either team is trying to improve for the post season. We both usually play strong this time of year and it should be very exciting. Good luck to you friend.

Friends i am not sure we have our fastest weapon on the field. Looks very doubtful. We are bleeding more each week with injuries. It really is a lot to overcome considering the talent will get much tougher in 3 weeks or so. But this is the season for surprises and we might find a gem that was hiding on the practice squad.

Just an average fan, on the outside looking in, taking a shot at what I believe we need to do to win this week.

Early in the season Harbaugh limits Rice's touches saying, "we need him to be heatlhy for football in December & January" well it's december and Rice is our main weapon. He NEEDS 25-30 touches(not only rushes, but screens & dump offs).

Our O-line needs to keep Joe clean. We're facing the best past rushing front four in all of football and if they don't give Joe time to throw the unnecessary Tyrod chants will grow even louder.

Our front 7 needs to find a way to generate some type of pressure on Manning. We can't let him sit back there and pick us apart. We need to disguise our blitzes and keep him guessing.

Lastly, we need to play with a sense of urgency for 60 minutes. I haven't seen that from our team in WEEKS and Manning is an excellent 4th QB so we need to make sure we're ready to play until that clock hits 0:00.

He did say they were unnecessary so you agree with him.

And "win" is not a gameplan. SMH right back at you. :)

The Ray Rice thing isn't as easy as it sounds. Over the last 4 games or so, the Ravens have tired to establish the run game early, but their is a disconnect in the run game right now. The Oline isn't a strong run blocking unit right now and Ray isn't a overly physical type runner who will run through tackles and wear down defense. So the stark in the running game surprisingly comes from Peirce. Or it comes after Flacco completes a few passes and puts the defense on it's heels.

In the passing game, it's much of the same. Right now, defenses are locked into Ray Rice out of the backfield, plus Rice's pass blocking has declined this year. So it's becoming tougher to get the ball to Rice with other guys first getting involved. There was a couple of screen attempts for Rice last game, but the defense was all over it.

It's hard to just keep force feeding Rice when not much success is coming from it. At the end of day, imo the gameplan has to continue to be the same. Have a healthy balance of pass and run to keep the defense off balance, but the players have to execute better.

Yeah, our stadium is not as bad as Steelers fans like to make it out to be. :P
Just be respectful of where you are. One does not go into an opposing team's stadium and start chants or laugh and yell when the home team makes a mistake.
Some people just don't get it. smh

giants fan here. this is a huge game for both of us. it should be a good one. my team sucks right now. we got beat up and blown out on sunday. at least you guys scored 17 points. if flacco doesnt throw that pick before the half i truly believe the ravens would have won the game. your defense was good the first half. i was surprised. your d-coord dean pees plays to much zone. not the ravens style. you guys are better at man to man. i am not sold on flacco though. hes good but there is something about him that makes me think he just average. your back qb tyrod taylor or whatever is name is. that guy is a mover in the pocket. flacco kinda of stands there. caldwell will make flacco better. cameron's offense really wasnt that good for the ravens. anyway this should be a good game. of course i am going to say giants win, but i think the ravens come out strong early and win by 7. my predicition giants 23 and the ravens 30. ravens wont lose 2 in a row at home. not gonna happen. if the giants lose were done.
