Do whats best for the team

15 posts in this topic

So we all know and have gotten used to the absence of Cam but does that finally fix a terrible offensive issues we all have known to become our offense ?

The answer is a resounding NO. You do what is best for the team and to put them in the best position to succeed. That is a Head Coach's job no matter what right ?

So here is where i have a couple issues that i think need to be resolved for our offense to be the best it can be this year with the "Talent" we have.

The biggest move that needs to be made but for some reason has not been made is put Mckinnie at LT and Oher anywhere else, my preference on the Raiders team but RT will do. But for some reason and i have heard this spoken on many media sites and stations is that Harb's has put Mckinnie in his dog house and refuses to play him. Now is a grudge more important than wins ? Would love to hear SB's thoughts on that. Let go of the hard feelings and put the best man for the job on the field. It can help in a few ways.

Can Oher pick up the speed rush, no. Can Oher protect the Blindside, no. Mckinnie can but he does not play. Why would a coach spite the entire team by having hard feelings ?

The second thing that needs to happen is to forget the Deep ball and use more short to medium passes but keep it even between passes and rushing.

Whether we like it or not we are playing 2 games in the next 2 weeks where they have a very effective pass rush and if i was Flacco i would not feel secure with Oher protecting me, would you feel safe, no.

If our defense cannot keep the Mannings in check and recent games say they cannot then we need to take action since Yanda is hurt.

Are there any free agentsout there that we can plug and play, I hear the pat's release shaincoe. I see teams grabbing player from pratice squads, why can't we or better yet start using our pratice squad players like Hamilton. But I agree the first thing is to move Oher out.

You lost all credibility when you said McKinnie can pick up the speed rush! LMAO!

I agree with your point of moving Oher to the right and McKinnie to the left. I highly doubt Harbs is trying to 'spite the entire team' by benching McKinnie, he's just trying to generate some discipline among the players. Unfortunately, that's not working.
Also, why 'forget' the deep ball? I hope that Caldwell will put a stop to the CONSTANT deep balls, but it's important to air it out every once in a while.
Lastly, how does Yanda being out affect the defense? Yanda played on offense, not defense.

even with Ray back we still need some help at LB positions, this is were Hamilton could help. How is Kindle is he done? and Where is McPhee, we need him in there to bull rush manning.

I'd still like to point out that Oher has had more good games than bad games and there were few people on this board who wanted McKinnie to come in.

OK that was a stretch but i was comparing him to Oher. Which of the two would you rather have on the Blind Side friend if you were the QB and needed to feel your backside was covered ?

How are we all used to Cam being gone? We havent even played one game without his useless carcass. Give it a few games and lets see what develops.

McKinnie reported fat and out of shape, according to reports I've read his practice play has been awful and as a result he's still fat and out of shape. McKinnie is a better pass blocker, but even being 360 pounds he's an absolute wet blanket as a run blocker. I also read a report that Caldwell is supposed to re-implement the "sugar" no huddle (whatever you want to call it) and run a more ball control offense.

Oher has done a sufficient job. The only reason there's all this hate for him right now is because he happened to let Joe get sacked in each of the past two games. Before that, the kid was doing pretty well, and you damn well know it.

My thoughts exactly. Lets not forget that the single time we beat the Pats in the post-season and he didn't give up a sack all day. Lets not forget he was almost Offensive Player of the Year. His seat is starting to heat up, but he'll be fine.

I think that play calling honestly can be pointed to for a lot of joe's struggles. We had a really good running attack going last week and i can't remember a single play action. and when they started turning up the heat screen or quick passing can slow that down. but they just kept running three step drop, or shotgun so the rushers know exactly where joe's gonna be. that having been said he needs to learn to climb the pocket or throw it away or something. Standing there forever burpin the baby is killing our offense

I think Oher should still be given a chance until the end of the year. The Air Coryell is a system that demands a stout OL. You need a LT that can hold the line and give the QB time. That's the problem with it. The WRs need to get open and don't have a lot of time to do so when tackles can't win their match-ups.

I would give Oher until the end of the season. He might improve, that is if we do more short passes. I think you will see a new Michael Oher with short passes.

Also, people say we need discipline. In another thread I read a post where someone said that Harbaugh needs to bench guys like his brother to set examples. When he does it, people complain.
