At least now we will see what Flacco is really capable of! We'll find out if it was just Cam Cameron or a combination of the two that led to our offensive woes this year... I am curious and so is the front office for sure. Go Ravens and Joe prove your real worth to the NFL! Earn your top 5 money! Especially since you have no more impediments or excuses!

i feel bad for Caldwell...you cant flip an offense in a short practice week, and everybody on this site is gonna be out for his head when things dont look dramatically different next week.

Early Christmas present......... Woohoo!!!

I thought my facebook reports were false ran to computer when I should be heading to work right now!

It's about time, only question is why fire him after a game that the offense played well in ?

Oher is definetely not a "blind side tackle". Either that or his MOMMA neeeds to be their yelling and scolding Oher. Don't really have an answer for that one, though. Who do we have that is any good? at tackle? Ed Reed sucked again in that game. no tackle. In Fact all of the backfield has to learn to tackle low, not around the shoulders. They just get shrugged off and laughed at! And especially Cary Williams at piss poor tackling. Get rid of him too.
Finally got our wish about Cam gone, now maybe things will fall together. Good Luck Caldwell!!!!!!!!!

about time now to do something about Flacco then we should be good to go
==========

you don't give up on a quarterback who has shown he wins games in the NFL. He has only had 1 system in 5 years, you give up on the system and try new ones first. There are lots of systems and coordinators, there aren't a lot of proven quarterbacks.

Lets keep our expectations in check people...

This is a move for 2013, not 2012. This isn't a Championship caliber team will all the injuries on defense, and Caldwell has never called plays. It's not like the playbook will be changed. There's not enough time to do it.

Frankly, I would almost expect us to take a step back offensively this season. But this move is to set is up better for the future, not the present.

Never glad to see anyone lose their job, I wish that things could have worked out, but this move, is in my opinion, the best option for the team.

The task for Cadwell will be to get the offense to play "playoff caliber" football in super short time during a big change. Not an easy task when your given training camp, and all year, much less three games left in the regular season. Make it happen Jim.

GO RAVENS!

FINALLY! For the few defending Cam Cameron, remember this: When he was the offensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers with quarterbacks Drew Brees and Philip Rivers, their offense NEVER had a top offense! Brees and Rivers NEVER threw for 4,000 yards under Cam (but both exploded offensively when they got away from him). Even if it was long overdue, you gotta give props to Harbaugh for being able to go through with it. Firing Cam and even trusting a rookie over Billy Cundiff are tough things to do, but Harbs did it.

LETS GO RAVENS!!!

More questions remain unanswered than solved. Joe and the offense must be run properly and not just differently. Is Joe Flacco the big ticket item in the teams future?

"My charge "our responsibility as a coaching staff" is to maximize the opportunities for our team to win, and we can still reach all of our goals for this season," Head Coach John Harbaugh said.

"With our coaches and players, the solution is in the building. We are going to make the most of our opportunities going forward, and this change gives us a better possibility to achieve our goals."

^ now Caoch...that the best thing that you've said at a presser in awhile. what took so long brah? lol! good luck to Caldwell and the rest of the crew and our Baltimore Ravens the rest of the season and throughout the playoffs! make it happen! unleash the beast...Joe Flacco and the "No Huddle" offense! let's goooo!

now let the Run game take us to the super bowl... let Rice and Pierce do the dirty work starting this sunday against the BRONCOS... heavy dose of Rice and Pierce early and close out the 4th quarter.no more pass heavy in the 4th

Caldwells first job? Allow Joe to get into a rhythm. High Percentage passes, work the middle, allow the TE's to run more then routes short of the sticks.

Wow!...Ok, I take back what I said yesterday about Harbs not being the kind of guy who would fire Cam. I am looking forward to seeing who they bring in during the offseason, assuming Caldwell is just taking the job temporarily.

This should definitely be a good stepping stone in the right direction, and a message to current and future coaching staff under Harbs that he actually *does* have the ability in him to dismiss underperformers.

Oh. My. God. Never thought I'd see the day. At least not this week.
Can't say I'm upset about it though. Sorry Cam you had a good run. Enter Caldwell

exactly! let Joe be Joe! run that no huddle that he is most comfortable with. mix in a few more crossing routes, screens, quick slants, outs and in routes and it's over! and of course...Rice WILL get his touches as we saw in yesterday's game.

Harbs you are not fooling anybody, you did not make this decision to FIRE YOUR BUDDY, the decision was made for you- you just had to deliver the news. You probably teared up.

Hope this is the begining of a new Ravens WINNING streak. This could be the spark we need. If we can win our next 3 games and NE looses 1 we can still be the Number 2 Seed and have the bye and a home game. If not we should still get the division and have first game at home. Either way GO RAVENS, use this SPARK and start a 6 or 7 game WINNING STREAK, which ever you need.

Not the worse news to hear, but unless he can light a fire under Michael Oher,or convince Harbaugh to give Mckinnie a shot, we are still in trouble. With Yanda out as well, Flacco is in for a long day on Sunday. Offensive line should be the first position addressed in the draft. We need a big-time left tackle.

Now time to earn that contract without everything being blamed on Cam. What's the next excuse, Caldwell need to gel? Ball is in your court Joe.

I hate to see someone lose their job but unfortunately this needed to happen. I was excited when the news from my Ravens app popped up on my screen. I cheered as I stood in line at Subway!

I am not expecting miracles but am hoping for a bit more improvement offensively.

I'm overwhelmed right now. I mean ever since Caldwell showed up I knew he'd eventually be Cam's successor but I had no idea it would be this soon. The offense should really see some drastic improvement come playoff time.

Well, looks like so many fans got their wish. I'm very glad that we had Caldwell to step in there..... Cuz, I don't know of anyone else I would have hired.

So 2 things happen now

Caldwell ends up being permanent solution

We hire an unknown - no other legitimate options out there. Jason Garrett offense don't have an identity aside from pass pass pass...and Norv Turner runs the same offense.
Hopefully this works out real well. Caldwell has never called plays so hopefully that's just an irrelevant fact

I think the decision to do this came from above Harbaugh. This is the era of great offense. The Ravens have invested in it tremendously.
your correct he needs a season at the very least but i guarantee if joe doesn't throw for 400 yards with 5 touchdowns this weekend the threads will be full of did we make a mistake changing mid season. accurate smart post . Poor jim doesnt stand a chance .

The offense is not going to be dramatically differnt nor does it need to be.

We have the talent and the weapons... its just stabelizing he play calling in an effort to get the most out of it.

Hopefully this just means... we will not forget about Ray Rice in the 4th quarter moving forward...

or that we will be more pogressive in our play caling - not looking to force the home run but setting it up be either utilizing a strong running attack or exploiting mis matches by utlizing the spped of a Deonte Thomspson with Torrey

Allowing Doss and Bolding to work more underneath... and opening up the long pass not just forcing it.

Establishing a physical running game to keep pass rushers like Von Miller honest! not just teeing off on Flacco like James Harrison does!

I love this...all i can hope for now is that it was cam's decision to keep mckinnie off the line. that way with him gone, we can either move oher or get him off the line entirely!!
