Cam Cameron Fired

567 posts in this topic

IMO, the three candidates are Cam, the OL coach (Moeller) and the receivers coach (Hostler). Rosburg and any other ST coaches shouldn't be on any kind of hot seat and our defense is too banged up to can Pees right now.

I put that on Offense for putting us in that position. And the Steeler matchup is a Divisional matchup.
What? For giving us a 10 point lead twice in the squealers game and an 8 point lead at the end of the game yesterday?

Cmon' man!!!!!!!!!! Face it. The D folded at the end of the last 2 games.

Cam Cam Cam!

You know they did put up 28 points yesterday, on the road!

Rice rushed for 121 with a 6.1 avg and a TD
BP had a 6.6 with almost 60 yards

Joe had a 76.2 Pct with 3 TDs
121.4 Rating

I think it is the things that Joe is doing wrong.

Turns the ball over, makes bone head plays
Can't feel the rush, can't read a blitz

Seems to me that the things that Joe is doing wrong falls on the QB coach.
Yeah, our offense did what they should do against a bottom 3 defense in the league. Joe hasn't been perfect but he hasn't been getting much help. It's normal and easy to blame the QB but IMO everything goes back to the OC.

2 weeks ago vs the Steelers, Ray Rice had ZERO touches in the 4th quarter. Inexcusable.

Our D is so injured right now if you are a OC or any other team in the league you must put points on the board. So what does our genius Cam do well the same thing he always does. He never changes the game plan. It is so maddening when you know that the job of the OC is to make a game plan that best fits the players that you have and give them the best opportunity to succeed.

Knowing this Cam ignors the players that he has and runs his game plan that does not work. He has had 5yrs to get the players that are need to run his system and what would you know our offense is still terrible.

4th qtr vs Steelers and yesterday' s overtime plays are all you need to review to know Cam has to go.
Maybe recivers and Flacco have lost faith/confidence in Cam's terrible play calls.
Flacco seems to not have nearly as much confidence as he had last year.

Agreed. But the secondary has blown coverages on a regular basis lately. It's like the middle of the field has been a "no fly zone" for our DBs. And the winning TD yesterday? Not like the QB took a long time to find a receiver standing alone in the EZ. Unforgivable..............

you're right on that one actually, some serious mental errors occurring. It was Chris Johnson though who we signed a couple weeks ago, looked like he was trying to do too much, over eager to make a big play, and instead gave up the big play.

We tried that logic already. We fired Zorn. Which seemed to be the wrong move.
And Joe is still making the same mistake.

Don't see this on Cam, I see this on Joe.

It's Cam:

Edit: As much as I'm really glad we've made this move - thanks Cam, best of luck wherever you end up.

And it took an outcry from the fans and media for Cam to change his gameplan to give Rice the ball. And this isn't the first time. Same thing every time.

Neglect Rice, public outcry, Cam changes for one game, Back to square one. Repeat.

Damn! Bold move.

Feel bad for Cam. Never like to see people lose his job. But it was needed.

I seriously doubt this is on D or special teams. D has a bad injury situation and Pees is in his first year, D has been showing improvement. Have to wonder about the O-line coach given how pressure-based turnovers killed us the past two weeks.

Moeller took over after we fired the o-line coach a couple years ago. He was the assistant then. I don't even know if we have an assistant o-line coach. As for Hostler, our top 2 WRs are veterans so if we fire Hostler it would basically be based on Torrey Smith's performance. I don't know about you but Torrey has been great this year IMO. I also can't see it being Rosburg. The ST has been soooo good this year. If they wanted to fire him they would have fired him last year after the trainwreck season we had on ST.

I still think it has to be Cam. Remember, there is more going on here than just how our offense plays. We need to determine how much Joe Flacco is worth. I think this could be the team's last ditch effort to tell Flacco to get his act together.

Agreed. I'm not sure what to expect from Caldwell except that I'm quite sure he'll be much more in touch with what Joe's comfortable with. This will be interesting folks!

Maybe because the gameplan and the Air Coryell system isn't playing to Joe's and the offense's strengths. We need a coordinator who will adjust to the players not have the players adjust to the system.

My sig says it all. Can the sorry excuse that is Cam Cameron, promote Caldwell for the remainder of the season, and then hire Norv Turner when he is booted from San Diego.

If we're 4-9 then yes you do it now. But if Im Ozzie I'm not letting a potential playoff berth be interrupted because we go to a guy on offense who has no idea how to call plays in the middle of the final 3 games. That is the moronic part.

Like I said, pull the plug on Cameron if we're in a losing season. But you can't at 9-4.

It will be Moeller. I also kind of want it to be Pees but to be honest I don't even know who the hell we could replace him with other than Clarence Brooks.
Thats the thing though, the chance of a potential birth won't be interrupted. We really only need one win to guarantee a post season birth.

Since the Ravens will almost never be in a losing season though, we will never pull the plug on Cam until its too late and we are in rebuilding mode.

I don't know how you can get rid of a any of the positional coaches and let it be fair to them. The o line has players that are very green on it in Reid and Osemele. Oher is a revolving door at tackle ( I mean switching from right to left to right to back to left, not in terms of his play. How is he suppose to improve on any mistakes from year to year if he is constantly switching sides where the focus on certain types of blocking are completely different. Give him two years on the same side in a row.), the d line is littered with injuries (Ngata, Mcphee, Suggs techinically), the linebacking core lost its two best players to injury (Suggs, Lewis) and Ellerbe. The secondary is again littered with injuries to Reed, Jimmy Smith, Webb etc...

Tbh despite all of this, each level of the defense has picked up its play. Arthur Jones has stepped up, Kruger has become a straight up beast, Upshaw has developed quickly, Chris Johnson and Corey Graham are arguably playing better than Cary Williams. If anything this is a credit to how well these guys have done given their limited talent to work with.

The wide receivers have improved from last year and the runningbacks have been good as always so I really dont see how firing a positional coach is going to improve us any where firing Cam may just be an addition by subtraction.

You cant fire Pees because its Year 1, and there is a lack of talent on D due to the injury bug murdering us this year.

As for the specials teams, Jacoby Jones has been a beast, and yesterday was an outlier performance on that kickoff. While that mistake did cost us the game, Cam has made plenty of mistakes and gotten a pass.

Now I'm not speaking to the likelihood of anything happening, but by process of elimination the weakest link is Cam.

I think this is the whole thing with our D, stood out big time in the Cowboys game.
Just make the play, tackle the guy with the ball, tackle the guy not the ball, make the play that is in front of you, not the one you think will get on Prime.

This has just made my day!

I even have some tears, tears of Joy! Caldwell can take over for the final games and the playoffs then we can bring in Whisenhunt or Norv in the off-season to be our permanent OC.

Could it be a temporary change such as Caldwell in for Cam only to face Peyton? :th_327321_Spy_23x22: :sherlock: #IJS
It is temporary. But it has nothing to do with Peyton. The Owner and FO think we are as bad as it can get on O. If we make a change we might be surprised.

We'll be searching for a new coach this offseason unless our offense lights it on fire.

I knew it!

I think this is more about Flacco than Cam. We're going all in before we give out that big contract.
Agreed, but it's a shame they didn't do this earlier, now we only have a few games left. In any case, whatever the quarterback situation next year, we won't have the Cam situation.
