Cam Cameron Fired

567 posts in this topic

and for the first time ever Raven nation gathered together and started a quiet growing chant. Almost to low to be heard at first but quickly growing to a marked crescendo-

CAM
CAM
CAM

of course the moron assumed it was from the deep felt love that Raven Nation has for him and his continued arrogance shined on. As the calls thundered on Cam went into the RB training room to meet this fella name Ray Rice.........

play calling is a big part of being a good OC though
That's why he needs to go. We seem to prepare well for games but can't adjust, always call the same out routes, abandon Ray Rice, etc...

I think what was meant is Cam is good at designing game plans, but not good at implementing them (i.e. lack of touches for Rice) - and his lack of in game adjustments is also a huge issue.

Think of a position on our team thats safe besides ST. I really cant, QB coach and DC would probably be the safest in my mind.

I don't know of Harbs has the stones to fire Sham Scameron. Maybe Ozzie does
This could be a directive from above. Steve doesn't really get involved in-season. But I could see him pushing for this move.

start to think it's not going to be any of the coordinators - Cameron, Pees or Rosburg (he shouldn't be in discussion anyway), but the O-line or WR coaches, maybe secondary or d-line... if only they'll let us know already

Maybe the WR coach? Our WRs have horrible coaching.
I've been saying that all year (for two years, actually).

Yeah, if I see Torrey slow down and turn around and the ball fall right where he would have been if he'd kept running...and then come on here and have to read "Joe overthrew torrey again" ....smh

Still, I do think if it isn't Cam, it would be the O line coach. They have really just been bad all season as well.

Please be Cam though! Please!

No way it's Pees. We have 4 of defensive starters out! And now we are VERY THIN at LB due to injuries. This will negatively affect any team. Defensively we've been doing fairly well after the bye. Not to mention we've been facing really good QBs this part of the season.

My guess is someone offensively. That's where we have been the most inconsistent.

I don't think it's pees either our injury report looked like the starting lineup. Heck half the teams in the league would love to have our injury report starting on their team.

I don't think pees is a elite DC so it would be nice if he was a stop gap until we get another great DC, but he is doing the best he can with our D as beat up as it is.

Charlie Batch and whoever that guy was that threw the winning TD yesterday?

Not sure if you watched the last 2 games, but the secondary has played like pure poo and is the main reason for those losses.

If we're 4-9 then yes you do it now. But if Im Ozzie I'm not letting a potential playoff berth be interrupted because we go to a guy on offense who has no idea how to call plays in the middle of the final 3 games. That is the moronic part.
It sounds like you are talking about CC right there. Any use of the word 'moron" or any of its variants should be directed towards him.

I firmly believe that idiots are replaceable year-round. Cam has proven many times over that he falls into that category.
Will our offense go into a period of transition if we get rid of that monkey? Yes! And that is a good thing, not a bad one.

Idk about y'all but my first thought at half when everyone was all excited about how good our offense scored was just wait until the second half and Cam messes it up and we do nothing.

Finally! Now please fire BOTH Cam and the O-Line Coach and get rid of our two weaknesses holding the offense back. I have heard Dean Pees's name as well but considering the injury depleted defense, he does get a pass but if our D is healthy next year and our D sucks then we can blame Pees. For right now, fire Cam and the O-Line Coach and Caldwell has to be better than Cam in some form.

you can't single out a unit like that. They have to maintain coverage for 6 - 8 seconds on some plays because the QB isn't even close to being in distress. Defence is playing poorly across the board, and no one is stepping up like they keep saying they would.

I put that on Offense for putting us in that position. And the Steeler matchup is a Divisional matchup.

The whole justification for keeping Cam on as OC was we didn't want to rock the boat after a highly successful season. Joe has been in Cam's system his whole career and we didn't want to have the adjustment period.

I hate to bring up Matt Ryan but the Falcons changed offensive coordinators in the offseason last year and he hasn't missed a beat. The justification for not firing Cam after last season was flawed but they brough Caldwell in for a reason and not just to coach Joe. The wanted someone on staff capable of taking over as OC if Cam needed to go.

Agreed. But the secondary has blown coverages on a regular basis lately. It's like the middle of the field has been a "no fly zone" for our DBs. And the winning TD yesterday? Not like the QB took a long time to find a receiver standing alone in the EZ. Unforgivable..............

There are pieces on the O-Line itself which are weaknesses as well. Those are still going to hinder our offense, new coaches or not.

Cam Cam Cam!

You know they did put up 28 points yesterday, on the road!

Rice rushed for 121 with a 6.1 avg and a TD
BP had a 6.6 with almost 60 yards

Joe had a 76.2 Pct with 3 TDs 121.4 Rating

I think it is the things that Joe is doing wrong.

Turns the ball over, makes bone head plays
Can't feel the rush, can't read a blitz

Seems to me that the things that Joe is doing wrong falls on the QB coach.

We tried that logic already. We fired Zorn. Which seemed to be the wrong move.
