Offense
I could rant on and on about the Oline, and Flaccos development, and how cam really really sucks, but let's face it. We are a good team, we have won 9 games. So the O is not the problem here... Cam is but look in the other threads for that..... The Pats D last year was just as bad as ours, but they had a genius at the helm........ So nope
ST. Only bad play all year happened yesterday(other than the onside kick). Jacoby is an all pro so nope.....
Ah here we are, today proved my theory.... Offense keeps you in games, defense wins championships. The best teams in the nfl all have great defenses. Our case, we are injured like the Bears were last year. Look at our lineup
CB 1: Ladarius Webb(injured all out for the year): possibly the best all around DB in the nfl. An all pro player..... Shame he is injured, might be the best CB in the NFL. He would lock down a Garçon, or a Wallace, even AJ for a game........ He and Reed made a lethal combo
CB 2: Jimmy Smith: take everything I said about Webb, and multiply that by two. You get what Jimmy could potentially be.jimmy has a high ankle sprain, and has had one bad game all year. Frankly everyone cept Sozzle sucked in that game........ So two potential shut down corners injured.
CB 3: Cary Williams: no need for comment, he needs to go. The one crap player on the D.
FS: Reed: age is starting to show, and no support for Webb or Jimmy. But still an int specialist. Still playing with a hernia that slows him down even more.
SS: May be the best SS in all of football: Next!
The secondary had three of the 5 members injured.
Now the DLine
Ngata: The best dlinemen in the nfl, played injured but is returning to form. No problems here
Cody: no injuries, but a bust sadly.........
McPhee: hasn't played enough due to his injury... But he is a playmaker still and has potential..... So again an injury loss
Kemo: Should've retired...
Jones: he's a keeper....
So two of our best Dlinemen are injured as well..... So here we go with the most injured section... The LB corps
Ray: Triceps injury.... Will be back. But did not have a lot of help from the DLine.
Ellerbe: HE has been a suprise. He's a keeper, but again injured. He was playing like a pro bowler when ray was gone. INJURED
Suggs: Give the man a break! Injured Achilles and now biceps. And still had to get the double team at 50%. Hr needs to loose weight during the offseason. So next....
McClain: Injured, solid but not spectacular.
McClellan: Same as above
Kruger: Earned a starting job.... No injuries here
Upshaw: The man amongst boy in the rookie class. Injured during the offseason. Fine for now.....
All in all, you can blame Pees all you want, but in reality, injuries is why the D is ranked so low. We have one starter playing at full health right now that should be starting and that's Ngata. Williams should be unemployed, and Reed should rest. Upshaw and Kruger switch, and Cody and Kemo switch off, so one full time starter. This D at full health is very dangerous. You cannot realistically throw on them, and they can kill you rushing the passer at full health. With that said, we do need a new NT, and CB 3: then we are set.....
