You guys may think I'm crazy, especially with the way Harbs seems to never find anything wrong and looks at the positive side most of the time. Yet, I don't think firing Harbs would be the best thing to do. How many times was Tom Coughlin on the hot seat in New York before he turned it around and won two Super Bowls. Look at the Texans, they kept coming short of the playoffs each year and Texans fans wanted Kubiak gone but they kept him and everything has finally come together.

Patience my friends, patience.

Welcome to the world of mediocrity.
Last year was our chance.

Almost makes a grown man cry to have to admit the truth of that statement.

Dean Pees should have been out before the bye-week, and if he's not out before the season ends then all three Harbaugh, Pees, and Cam need to be fired. They keep saying this isn't a game to them but rather a business, and the fans don't understand that. Guess what Ravens without the fans you have no business. When the sell out games stop then someone will take notice.
The problem is the sell out games will never stop. Football fans are addicts. They cant stop buying tickets, spending money watching TV. Cant help themselves. We heard all this during the lock out, how the fans should "make a statement". That lasted until the first pre-season game.

The problem with mentioning Kubiak and Coughlin is that both made coordinator changes in their respective offseasons - Coughlin picked up Spagnuolo and Kubiak picked up Wade. Regardless of Harbaugh's merits as a head coach, the bottom line to me is that teams that made major improvements made major changes at the coordinator position.

First and foremost M&T is a WAY WAY nicer stadium that FedEx.

Secondly I cant believe all the hate for Pees.

RG-III is legit. He is SUPER fast, he has a cannon for an arm, he is super accurate and he is a very smart QB.

Our defense is mostly second and third string players. Look at the names on our defense that did not play today. You want to talk about walking wounded ? If our defense was a dog it would be put to sleep by now.

That said I think out D did an OUTSTANDING job today. This was a TOUGH TOUGH offense.
With what Pees had to work with, this banged up, mish mash of s defense, Pees did an amazing job.

Thanks.

This place is nuts tonight. I just might go watch the Food Network and come back later this week.

knowing us, we'll still trade out of the first anyway....
haha thats a fact, I dont want to trade out unless someone offers us an RGIII type deal. But we won't have a top 3 pick.

No I'm right. I have been playing out every scenario on ESPN's Playoff Machine and no matter we can not fall out of the playoffs, 6th Seed at worst at 9-7.

If Bengals and Steelers tie their game, and win out the rest, we will be left high and dry.

Didn't we have 30secs with 2 timeouts in regulation? Even if we didn't have timeouts...who doesn't try to get in field goal range in regulation?

#what da hell ravens coaches!?!

Against the #31 Pass Defense!

Cam gave up, Harbaugh agreed and we went and lost in OT! I have never seen any NFL team make so many poor clock management decisons!

29 seconds, 1 time out, and 3 receivers that could easily get us to Tucker's range. No, instead we roll over and lose in OT!

The goal is to win the superbowl. Harb need to change things up to make that a possibility. The Overtime possession by the Ravens offense was Horrid. The pass defense looks good for awhile, then leaves guys run wide open.
need to either step it up and win the Division or just lose all 3 and not even make the playoffs.

Could not agree more.

I mentioned it in the game thread as well - we should have put the offense on the field and called our timeouts anyway. Our defense just got crushed on a long drive by the Skins, they are obviously tired. If the Redskins won the toss in OT, our D would have had maybe 5 minutes of rest between the tying drive and the Skins' first OT drive. They would have been demolished.

Put our offense on the field, make the Redskins defense run around, try to get in FG position, and if we don't - oh well, we're in the same position we were.

I will always support this team, but I'm finding it extremely hard to not be a pessimist about them after the last two weeks..."whatever happens this year happens" is the mentality I have consigned myself to.

Another thought just hit me-

Since we were only going to take a knee anyway, why not challenge the out of bounds kick that Jacoby was screaming was out?

Best case we win the challenge and get the ball on the 40. Now we only need to move 20-25 yards and put Tucker on the field for a solid chance at the win.

Worst case we lose the challenge, ball stays on the 19 and we are charged a time out. We then orchestrate Cam's master plan and take a knee ending the game and heading into OT for his true genius to pour out.

Am I missing something?

At first glance, I was undecided about whether or not I'd watch yesterday's game. The reason? I just didn't want to experience another disappointment. However, unbeknownst to me, my aunt had the game on at her home where I was picking my mother up from. When I saw the game, I had to sit down and watch it.
When I sat down, the score was 14-7 Redskins, which was kind of a heartache, but I felt that we were still in it. The news was not as bad as I had previously envisioned it would be. As I watched, I saw our defense playing their hearts out and the Redskins were on the ropes. I saw the offense beginning to click and eventually score more points. We were back in the game.
Long story simplified, we lost. Everyone knows it. I've been watching football now since the Ravens' superbowl run back in 2000, but I still know very little about offensive and defensive schemes. Over the last 12 years as a Ravens fan, I believe that I am maturing in my understanding of the game and in appreciating the game of football. I was disappointed in yesterday's hard-fought loss to the Redskins, but I appreciate the hard work that was put in by our players and theirs. I realize that all of these guys, both players and coaches, are the best in the nation and the world at what they do. No matter what the record dictates, there are no teams in the nfl that are totally worthless. They are all professional and top notch athletes. Our guys are paid to watch film, prepare for the next team and win just like the other side is. Overall, I congratulate the Ravens in playing a damned good game. We made some costly mistakes that the Redskins capitalized on, but a damned good and entertaining game nonetheless.
I don't know if any of the players read these posts, but I personally salute Flacco, Pollard, Rice, Kruger, Gnata, Boldin and the entire team for bringing your best game to the field. The season's not over. No matter what happens, we, the fans, will never fully grasp the extreme sacrifices you've made in your lives to get the opportunity to play in the NFL. We'll never know fully the beating your body takes as you lay your bodies out to reel in a catch 40 yards down the field...and how hard the ground is as you make contact. I don't consider myself to be soft, as I still weight train in my 40's, which is why I can look past my disappointments and honor your sacrifices and your tenacity. The fans are not playing through pain, realizing that there are human freight trains lined up on the other side of scrimmage that are heading straight for you.
Some complain that Coach Harbaugh isn't really a coach, that he should be carrying a clipboard and running the offense...that he should be doing more. Again, I'm not as astute as many when it comes to football, but that's why leaders hire competent staff to help bring life to their vision...the vision of winning it all. Brian Billick was once our head coach, and he toted a clipboard around and made calls. Comparing the two, who has a better winning percentage? Sure, Billick came up with a ring in 2000, and that is great. However, I just cannot see any reason to bash our head coach when I look at his performance. So, in spite our two recent tough losses, I wish to say thanks to Coach Harbaugh for coming to Baltimore.
Finally, I'm trying to take the approach to football in such a way that shows an appreciation for all of the athletes (especially the Ravens) and the sport. I'd much rather see the Ravens win, but if we do not, then I want to congratulate the other team, thank them for playing a great game and for providing the fans with the entertainment we seek, then move on to next week. I believe that, even through all of the injuries, the Ravens stand just as good a chance as any of the other teams to go all the way this year. I'm going along for the ride to see just how far we can go. Go Ravens! And I hope to meet some of you soon.

I said this when we lost. You don't make it through seasons as healthy as we did last year. That was a super bowl defense we had last year that was wasted.
