A little Idea that I heard earlier

After the Redskins blow us out, all this playoff talk will die down. Ravens will be lucky to win as a wild card team the way we're playing right now. Cm-on everyone I am a fan , but lets keep it real.....

I say make Joe earn that elite money he wants.

This....I'd like to see Pierce get a couple games while we rest our star RB, but Flacco is gonna need to earn every single dollar he is asking for starting this Sunday!

I don't like this idea and here is the reason:

1.) Resting players has not proven to be effective. I remember the Packers resting Aaron and what happened. Yeah, they got bounced. Granted, that's not the only reason but here's the thing with Flacco: he needs momentum. It is more beneficial to him to play than not.

2.) If we rest anyone, rest guys like Ngata, Suggs, Ellerbe, Dickson, Ed Reed, etc. You rest the guys who really, really need it. Maybe Yanda because his play has honestly been suspect recently. I would not rest Flacco or Rice unless they are really hurt.

3.) We're still playing for the #2 seed. Granted, if that chance is lost and a playoff berth guaranteed, and there is no beneficial reason to play our starters and we can't do better than a 3rd seed then what the Hell. If not, then you put your foot on the throat and go for the killer. This team needs the killer instinct. Resting won't bring about that factor.

EDIT: I'm partial to resting Ngata now. Put McPhee & Tyson at his DE spot, activate Hall & rotate Hall & Jones on the LDE. Keep Cody in the middle alternating with Kemo.

Yanda hasn't given up a sack this season.

What if Houston takes a couple of losses and we have (had) a chance to get the #1 seed? I think we need to play out the string.

Would be nice, but it won't happen.

Every year someone rests players and i dont think it ever works. You see it in every sport and i always see it fail, unless theres an instance im not aware of or am forgetting, but it would have to be the exception not the rule.

WInning in the playoffs is about momentum, rhythm, consistancy.... and when you rest guys they lose it. It halts all momentum you had, and right now we need to get some going. If we play well enough to beat Washington and Denver, keep it rolling on into New York and Cinci. All playoff caliber teams and no better practice for the playoffs than the real thing

They have easy schedul and play in easy division. Not gonna happen/

I don't know about that. They play the Patriots & the Colts twice. I think the Colts can beat them. They have a QB again. They could go 1-3 in this final stretch. It would require a meltdown, but it's possible. Injuries happen. Look at us.
