Source: Todd Heap released...

Schefter and other reports are saying Todd Heap was released by the Arizona Cardinals. Looks like he hasn't played since week 2, so it's more than likely due to injuries.

Poor guy. Did wonders in Baltimore -- never really heard of him afterwards. Sincerely wishing him the best.

Just saw this, he's been injured all year basically. I think he's set for retirement then the Ravens ROH.

This. He's too injury prone to be valuable to any team, even though I wouldn't be surprised if we brought him back.

If the guy believed in modern medicine... who knows what he could have been! He and Joe were a nice complement . Just stroll off into the sunset, Todd. Baltimore will ALWAYS love you!

Should we sign him?
I'm all for signing him to a one day contract so that he can retire as a Raven. Is this what you meant? : )

I'd love to see Heap retire as a Raven.
If we did it with Mason, I don't see how we won't with Heap. Unless Heap burned any bridges (which I would find hard to believe).

no way he's done something like that, he even wrote a letter in the press for the fans and thanked everybody

I feel kinda bad for him. He could have had a HOF career if not for the injuries.
And Boller, If he had Flacco his entire career then imagine what would happen

He was great for this team and this city.

Todd Heap was a class act, and loved his time in Baltimore. He deserves to retire a Raven.. (and I can get my Heap jersey out one more time. :) )

Beat me to it, I remember him taking out an ad in the Baltimore Sun to thank the fans right before we played the Cardinals: http://articles.baltimoresun.com/2011-10-28/sports/bal-sportsblitz-todd-heap-baltimore-sun-ad1028_1_todd-heap-ravens-ad

As much as I miss him and loved him being a part of this team, sometimes you just have to put an old horse out to pasture and let it live the rest of its days in peace.

Heeeeeeeeeeeee will surely be missed. Definitely a ROH member.

I sincerely hope we sign him and have him retire as a Raven. He was always one of my favorites. Now we have Dennis Pitta to take his place. He will probably never be as good but he is a solid tight end.
