We never would have known how good Ray was until we took a chance on him. Let's just make a few additions and subtractions after the season is over and see how it looks next year. I really hope we draft a backup QB and some defensive help.

i'm done talking about Flacco in this thread for now (until after the game is over). it's game day! Flacco's game play today will speak for itself! all things being equal (solid O-line protection, quick release on the ball, avoiding turnovers, not over/under throwing receivers, solid running game with positive yardage to move the chains etc.) will he play like a stud or a scrub? let's see! it's time for Flacco to put his man pants on and step up to lead and will this team to victory! lead us Flacco!

If Flacco does this throughout the season and in the post season i am almost convinced he will demand the top 5 money. That is a good and bad thing combined. What i mean is we have a great QB if he continues this trend but we will then have to pay him top 5 money and lose many players as discussed earlier in other topics. In any case congratulations Joe we knew you had it in you now lets keep it going and show it was not a rare case. Consistency friend is the name of the game.

Guys I am not a Flacco hater and am actually a supporter, but again its one game against a garbage pass defense. The playcalling and protection were better, but lets see what he does next week against a tougher cincy team (if he plays)

Having a great QB is a good problem to have. Ask KC or the Cards all of which are one good QB away from being competitors for the SB. QB is the one position that is the hardest to get right so when you have that done, regardless of the situation elsewhere you can consider yourself happy (Remember how awful our D looked for most of the season?).
I doubt Joe will get top 5 money. That's just his agent talking. The team offers him top 15, his agent demands top 5 and in the end they settle for top 10 (depending on our post season performance closer or further away from the top 5).
