Joe Flacco assessment and miscellaneous "stuff"

2,170 posts in this topic

I would of put Tyrod in just because that game was way out of control at that point. No coming back from that 30 point deficit in the 4th plus Flacco would probably be mad he was benched and it would light a fire under his buttocks. Offense as a whole was turrible. Turrible turrible turrible.

If they ran the ball more, it will allow for Flacco to regroup himself rather than the very next play putting him out there in the lions den again with him being rattled.
So Agree!
If he looks a bit rattled, let RR help him out. Instead Cam has him throw. There were a lot of running yards left on the field. :(

Oline - they stunk up the joint today. didn't give joe 2 seconds on almost every play. they also made Joe throw into a wall when they did give him time. we definitely could've taken them down if they were jumping up so much. Good run blocking was a positive though.

Joe - yes he did not have a good game either. He overthrew his wr's several times and did not adjust to the constant blitzes of the houston backers. i guess cam gives him that ability so its his fault then. He was also not on the same page with his receivers.

wide receivers - what can i say? i guess the receivers ability to beat bump and run coverage last week was a fluke. another struggle for them yet again. its been a problem since mason left and has yet to be solved.

Playcalling - my god did this look like the seattle game offensively. 5 carries for rice in SEA, 9 today. i know we fell behind early but that isn't suppose to signal brady mode just because we were down by 5.

I edited my comment because I would rather not bring up Matt Ryan around here lOOl. He is clutch though, I thought you would notice it when in 2010 he drove down the field on us and won it in the final seconds.
One game makes him clutch when Flacco has done it multiple games?

Norv Turner is basically done, there's really no excuse to not go after him this year.
i know i sound like an idiot but what does he bring to the table? i don't watch the chargers at all besides the ravens-chargers games.

Thats called having elite weapons. Where as he has three, Joe has one.

LOl the biggest misconception is you have to prove you can win outside a dome. If they continue to play good this season and get home field and get to the super bowl which is new orleans ( dome stadium) and win will it matter?
I just don't see how he's clutch. Eli? Fine. Matt Ryan? No.

He also gave away that game to the Packers (at home) similar to the way the Ravens screwed up vs. PIT that same way.
Wait who's the elite weapon? I don't think Boldin is, Smith isn't yet, Jones isn't, and neither are the TEs
Norv Turner runs a similar offense to Cam already, so it wouldn't be a massive transition, but his playcalling is more creative. There's a reason Rivers didn't want him to get fired.

I consider Smith to be one, he has size speed, and he is intellegent. Once he learns how to run routes then he is a top 10 WR.

We know exactly what we have with Joe. An above average QB who can play great/"elite" at times.

When Joe, Cam Cameron, and the OL are all on at the same time we have a great offense.
I agree.

He's definitely not elite. 147 yards on 43 attempts is not elite, OL breaking down or not.

He's All Pro at home, but he will never be great until he can play consistently against non-division opponents on the road. This is becoming a serious problem.

the bad thing is if we play well, everyone plays well. if we play bad, everyone's bad. it seems like nobody can stand out when things are going the wrong way. Boldin flashed that against arizona and cleveland earlier but other than that nobody has stepped up when our offense was struggling.

It's an alarming stat, but Schefter brought this up ...

Joe Flacco’s Total QBR, a metric that accounts for everything a QB does, was 0.3 on the 0-100 scale, the lowest rating for any QB since 2008

It's not that alarming when ESPN QBR is complete trash and makes no sense 99% of the time.

I personally don't understand the QBR myself. I heard one of the announcers today say it was such a joke.

I just found the 0.3 kind of wow-ish. However when the QB is always under pressure, the QBR is not going to be the greatest.

looks like we will have more salary cap next year with flaccos price dropping since week 1. i thought he was going to get a big payday from what i saw early on but he just hasn't been the same. i don't see why Oz would listen to Lintas "all he does is win" argument like tebow.

Just from an outside looking in... It seem like the Fans and organization is kinda confussed some... I hear fans, experts (phil Simms) and the organization including Flacco say can do what other QB's in the upper QB group can do but he just doesnt have a chance.... The flat out truth is that Ray Rice is your best player on offense... Flacco is a very good QB at doing what he do but Ray Rice allows him to do that... Gash teams with the run while forcing teams to bring a safety in the box... Then Flacco can do what he do.... Show off that cannon he calls a arm.

The one part i dont see in flacco game against an average+ defense is his ability to just pick apart a D in the short or mid range game when Defense keep those 2 safeties back deep.

Flacco is a good QB that just had a lil rough stretch or what not... The OC... Ive seen you guys rightfully bash him for not running Ray Rice enough... But ive also seen you bash him for "handcuffing Flacco"

The OC needs to found a happy medium and the Organization needs to stop trying to make Flacco into what he's not and start making him into what he is... And screw what the media says.

From an outside guy that likes alot of Ravens players... That how it seem to me.

I'm going to reserve commenting til after the bye week. Hopefully, the offense will be revitalized by their 2-week vacation.

Why is the DAL game considered bad? He had 20 minutes of the ball compared to Romo's 40...I blame Fantasy Football and Madden....

I just dont get posts like this.. Joe Flacco has weapons... 2 Burner WR's .... A good position WR... And Elite RB that can bell him out at anytime... 2 young talented TE's....

The excuses has to stop.... Is James Jones or Jordy Nelson elite or do Rodgers make them Elite...

Not making this a Matt Ryan post but the guy leads the league in 4th quarter combacks since entering the league..You can bring up the playoffs... As a Falcon fan i know its more to it but i wouldnt argue your point that on him not getting it done in the playoffs... But yea the most 4th quarter combacks in the league since he has entered it is clutch
QBR is a completely made up that, so that's not alarming to me at all.

QBR also said that Brady had a better game than Flacco in the AFC title game.
