Report: Suggs Injured - Torn Biceps

107 posts in this topic

Added an ESPN link to the story in the original post for those needing a source.

Early reports also indicate that Suggs is seeking a second opinion; as stated above, there are certain types of biceps tears that can be played through -- and others that absolutely shouldn't.

[s]I vaguely recall Ray Lewis playing with a torn or strained biceps in 2003; he wore a giant protective armband for much of the season.[/s]

EDIT: Ray's injury in 2003 was a shoulder injury, for which he wore a special harness, according to Google.

I never said I was giving in. But its gonna be much harder to work it out
I was responding to latch, not you. I agree its tougher...but not impossible. Believe me, I always want to beat the Ravens and don't want them to advance in the playoffs....but do I think they could? Ya, I do.

Season over. What chance there was left for this team winning a Super Bowl, for those foolish enough to believe such things, is gone.

Well, that's good to know. Might as well start focusing on the 2013 draft. Thank God football is over for a 9-3 team. Say good-bye to a 5th straight post-season birth.

Glad one of you is calling these guys out. Wow, bailing on a 9-3 team.

After watching twelve weeks of this crap, can you honestly tell me that you think this team has a legitimate shot at a Super Bowl title? Even if you ignore the fundamental flaws in the offense and misuse of the personnel in the defensive scheme, there's still the fact that this team plays like garbage on the road. I don't know if you know this, but the Super Bowl isn't in Baltimore and they already screwed the pooch on a one seed. This team is going no where, and the best thing they could do now is dropping those last four games.

Not sure if its been said already, but Dolphins LB Karlos Dansby is playing with a biceps tear right now. It really all depends.

LOL. Wow. You people man, i will never understand you. Go tell that locker room this sunday to drop the next 4 games because "its whats best for the team" and see how they would react.

WE ARE 9-3. We aren't 6-5, barely in the race. Steelers or Bengals have to win out to win the division now.

"Over?!?! Did he say over?!? Nothing is over till we decide it is!
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! "

Does this mean you're going to stop posting? People who haven't completely gone off the deep end don't need the constant negativity.

He's played his entire career with a torn cerebrum, what's the big deal over a bicep?

All joking aside, you never like to see a player go down with an injury no matter what team.

Suggs is looking to play, reports Hensley.

Albert Breer apparently asked Suggs if he can play through it, and Suggs said he can.
Yeah but it will be a combined medical/coach's decision. Suggs would want to play if his arm was torn off. It might be a case of saving him from himself.

Yeah, I definitely agree with you there. He is a warrior. Thank God it's up the coaching & medical staff, as you pointed out.

I don't mean we ain't going to the playoffs, just not the SB. We might have a chance @ the AFC title game, but realistically, no

Biceps are for picking up things. Triceps are for sports. He may not be able to carry grocery bags...but he damn sure can push a defender down, lol.

...with Suggs' injury, you're going to have to limit his snaps to pass rushing situations -- so that means our rush defense which has improved will have to step up to set up obvious 3rd and long situations. Whoever steps in -- needs to set the edge! Thankfully the middle of our line is starting to step up, so we've got to protect our edges!

No injury is ever good, but players have played through entire seasons with this injury. I hope Sizzle is able to do so as well.

If anything it may mean we begin to open the offense up a bit and play more expansive to try and actually win rather than not to lose.

More shotgun and sugar huddle Joe calling his own plays as he sees fit

Man, that is wishful thinking. Thinking a ('nother) defensive injury means we actually play football on the offensive side of the ball? Would love for you to be right, but me no thinks so!
