This is just the first line of the article:
"San Francisco’s Colin Kaepernick is going to be a big-time NFL quarterback. That must make the guys in San Quentin happy"
A link to an article bashing the original article:

The article has been called racist and offensive.

Thanks for supplying the link to the original article. I had it then forgot to put it in there.
I can't believe an editor saw the piece and let it go to print (or internet).

You know what else is sad? People like the OP who re-post the article and give him the recognition and attention he is wanting. I have no idea why people have constantly fail to realize that while they may hate an article and want others to join in by hating it as well, all people do by posting a link is helping the writer by giving him more page views.
As a Sports Writer, or well as any sports writer would tell you, that is the absolute truth. If you truly hated the article, you would be smart to ignore it and move on and not post it to give him more hits.

I can see your side to a point. Was not thinking "oh, let's get this guy more page hits" however. To be honest, was rather shocked this actually managed to get by the editor and ever saw the light of day. I also might point out that he is getting blasted for this, as well he should. Not sure that is the kind of attention and recognition he was seeking.
