Good story by Peter King. Talks to his agent.

Its terrible news.

SUCH a young kid he REALLY had his whole life ahead of him.

Its hard for me to imagine being in a situation where suicide is actually a viable solution.

Prayers go out to family and friends.

"Before Jovan killed himself he called me (agent) saying, "Please make sure my beautiful daughter lives the best life possible. I love her."

Quote from his agent.
That account was proven to be fake and has no connection to Javon or his agent.

Everyone go to Andrew Bynums twitter @33Bynum and find his tweet where he says every RT and follow = $1 donation to the baby girl. Same goes for @Jovan_Belcher which was an account just made by his agent. It is the least that we can do for the little girl.

Looks like a lot of people fell for this.

Edit: ^ Beat me to it.

It just puts things into perspective that football is only a game. Nothing is bigger than life itself. Prayers, thoughts, and condolences to those affected, especially the baby.

It's terrible. :( I feel terrible.

We sincerely appreciate the expressions of sympathy and support we have received from so many in the Kansas City and NFL communities, and ask for continued prayers for the loved ones of those impacted. We will continue to fully cooperate with the authorities and work to ensure that the appropriate counseling resources are available to all members of the organization.”

i know this is a very sensitive topic... but "in honor of Jovan" makes it sound he went out the right way... he killed his girlfriend and left a 2 month year old baby by itself. granted i dont know all of the details, and exactly why he did any of this. anyways, my condolences to all the families involved.

I can't see the NFL postponing this game...that would just cause more attention focused on the incident, something I'm sure they want to avoid. KC could forfeit, though.
That's what I was thinking. They have nothing to gain by playing during the trauma/mourning process. The whole team and staff should meet with a counselor tomorrow. From a utilitarian perspective, it would make sense to resign because it would bring them closer to the #1 draft pick.

RIP to Kasandra Perkins and good luck to her daughter!

He was also young and had no concussion history, that and the fact his brain can't be studied makes any speculation a moot point. All we know is he murdered his girlfriend.

Technically, it would be manslaughter...

Reports I've read said multiple gun-shot wounds.

That ain't manslaughter.

He could've fired numerous shots in the heat of the moment. To give my theory, it seems to me Belcher was paranoid his girlfriend was cheating on him. Thus, when she came home in the middle of the night from a concert, Belcher snapped in a jealous rage. He then panicked, drove to Arrowhead to make peace with his team and then shot himself in remorse/hopelessness.

However I know he was under the influence of narcotics for pain and I'm sure the toxicology report will reflect this. However, Jovan drank ALOT. On a nightly basis. This is not a mystery as he did so in public and private.

He could not remember the events that had taken place prior to that game or what he had said to get Kasi to return home." - Anonymous friend of Belcher

The victim blaming (i.e. blaming Perkins for her own death) going on it some of the earlier emails from the source is very problematic, but the emails do give some insight into the events leading up to yesterday.

Just ridiculous. All because she was late from a concert? Wow.

I'm proud of the Chiefs organization for being able to come together and unite the community with a hard-earned win against a white-hot QB in Cam Newton!
