Oh I'm sorry, Doc. I didn't realize you had recently psychoanalyzed him and he had a completely nefarious reason for killing his girlfriend.
Read it again, slower. I didn't give a reason I simply stated he murdered his girlfriend, if you want to minimize and make excuses for that then thats your prerogative.

I honestly feel no sorrow for Belcher, he murdered his girlfriend in front of her mother and left his baby with no mom or dad and a horrific story. Now unless she was trying to kill him first, then its more understandable, but with he story how it is now, hes a moron. RIP to his girlfriend.

That's an adjective not a reason, it was you who was trying to pony up a "likely" reason.

Wow, what a terrible situation. I can't imagine the pain the affected families, the Kansas City Chiefs players & those within the organization must feel from this situation.

I wonder what compelled him to shoot his girlfriend, what compelled him to go to Arrowhead Stadium of all places after, and what compelled him to end his life in front of his team. My only guess is he killed her in a rage, left to go to the only place he had worth, and when he realized he would be in prison for the remainder of his life and lose his NFL career and identity he took his life before suffering through that.

I don't believe the game should be played tomorrow, but more out of respect for KC than tampering with a crime scene (though there is reason to not tamper with the crime scene). If KC has to play, it's a hard decision. On one end you can justify forfeiting the game. On the other, it may send the wrong message.

I don't envy Pioli or Crennel or those families affected by this unfortunate event.

I don't see how you can get on anyone for making assumptions when you, yourself are as well.

RIP to his girlfriend.

Crennel and Pioli will likely need therapy. To see someone commit suicide in front of you...can't even imagine.

This is so tragic on so many levels. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of those who died and to the whole Chiefs organization. I cant imagine what Pioli and Crennel are going through right now.

While I'm not a hard heart, there's no way that happens. You'd have tens of thousands of ticket holders, vendors, team staffs, TV and radio personnel, etc., etc. affected by a change like that. I feel for the families involved, but thats too much to ask of all the other people involved in an NFL game.

exactly... games weren't cancelled for 9/11. A national tragedy.

This is true, but there werent any players who took their own life in front of the HC at team facilities either.

Sigh. Nothing that has been reported makes a cause definite. Likely scenerio or not.
Sigh. Which is why I said it was likely, not definite.

Edit: To elaborate, in situations like these, there is nothing to be gained by being the first person to call someone a murderous vile creature after they commit a murderous vile act (and I have not once disputed that this act wasn't both of those things). Time and time again, there is postmortem evidence that shows significant brain deterioration in those who play contact sports from as early as 18 years of age. I think it is appropriate to give Javon Belecher, a human being who just so happened to play one of these contact sports for at least a decade including four years professionally, the benefit of the doubt until (or if) an autopsy can be performed.

Edit 2: TL;DR? Act=bad; perpetrator=maybe brain damaged given previous empirical evidence.

Pretty much weather is all that changes games-- hurricanes and blizzards. I recall our bye day because of the Texans and moving the Bears game in 2010.
your still making an assumption whereas blood raven was not. He called him a cold blooded murder. Mental illness or not that's exactly what he is.

Okay both are still assumptions. Whether you think your assumption is more likely then his or not.
blood didn't make an assumption, he called it for what it was, murder.

He was also young and had no concussion history, that and the fact his brain can't be studied makes any speculation a moot point. All we know is he murdered his girlfriend.

Murder by definition requires malicious intent. To my knowledge, no one knows the details of what happened. Mental illness can in fact drive people to do things otherwise thought to be inhumane. It's not an excuse. It's the truth. I'm not saying that is what happened here, but without evidence it is impossible to definitively call Belcher a murderer.

How could someone be so selfish?

It's one thing to kill yourself, but to do it infront of your friends? And kill your girlfriend to?!

I feel for the whole Chiefs family, I really do.
just because he played football doesn't mean he has a mental illness. I think you have this the wrong way round. He's a murderer until proven otherwise, not mentally ill until proved otherwise. If this wasn't a nfl player, but say a baseball or basketball player where mental illness isn't an issue, not one person would have an punch of sympathy for him outside his family and friends

This situation is no different until its proven he had a mental illness, and as blood said, he has no history of concussions, and is only 25 years old, so it's highly likely that's not the case.

Go read what I said again. I never said he was or wasnt anything. I said you cant label someone without knowing all the facts. And no, he isnt a murderer until proven otherwise. That's not how the justice system works.
