His name makes most Raven fans angry. I've taken my jabs at Ben from time to time. He is now giving funds to every police department for every away game city. This being said, do you think this is a publicity stunt or a genuine gesture for him? Or is he just trying to beef up security around himself?
I dont give a rats rear what his intentions are its a worthy cause and I appreciate his generosity.

I doubt the FIRST.With things like you gotta look past the uniform. If Ed Reed donated money to Pittsburgh I'd be the first to thank him.

They had a story about a little league football team that earned their way into the playoffs. The problem was they could not afford to fly every one out to where the game was.
Well Ben got word of this and chartered a plane for them, as well as got them all new uniforms and equipment and made a personal appearance to get them riled up before they left.
On the field I pretty much hate the guy. Off the field, he is alright with me.

It's really not about the uniform with him. I respect most Steelers players, even if I hate their team. Even Hines Ward, probably the most hated Steeler around these parts, I still don't hate him as a human being. I've always disliked Roethlisburger for his character, and would continue to do so no matter what team he was on. That being said, seems like he's doing a good thing with this, and if it's true that he's improved himself so much over the past few years, then props to him for it. As you say, you guys would know more about it than we would.

Most public figures don't receive much attention for their philanthropy...
