Why Points Allowed doesn't factor into the defense rankings is just ridiculous. I'd rather give up the most yards and the fewest points (#32 ranked defense) than give up the fewest yards and the most points (#1 ranked defense). Defenses should be ranked by Rush yardage, Pass yardage, Points & Takeaways.

Okay, I'll admit it. Mr. Pees is doing a great job of late, especially since moving up to the box. Our secondary did well against Rivers, as did the pass rush. But the big tests are yet to come...I look forward to seeing both Manning's hit the turf multiple times.

I really been loving our packages and schemes as of lately. Paul Kruger is looking like what we needed him to be since JJ leaving! I love Cory graham a lot... where was he during training camp ????

Net rushing yards against has dropped from 142.9 pre-bye to 104.8 post-bye and was 91 last Sunday. That's with Haloti injured or out for 3 of 4 games. We have real potential to lock it down these next few weeks.

Ed Reed will get at least one interception on Sunday...no matter who the Steelers' starting quarterback is. He is due.

With RG3, Peyton, and Eli following the Squeelers, the defense will need to perform well or those QBs will send us home squealing. C'mon guys, tis the season to kick some butts.

GO RAVENS

I like the intensity our defense has shown in the last few games. Thank God we are getting better stopping the run, because that was frustrating!

This Sunday we have a good chance of trading places with the Stealers in that "points allowed department". And I agree - if only Cam could do something on offense...

T-Sizzle is back and has his opposite, whomever is on the other side, setting the edge on runs and putting pressure on QBs!

Ed Reed, took Arthur Jones under wing and challenged him - A.J. responded! Courtney Upshaw looks better and better every week!

And,... Dean Pees has proved that he's one coach who can make outstanding defensive adjustments and chew bubble gum at the same time! Make em mean, let em Hunt, Dean!!!

I heard this saying sorry but a Squeeler player said The eye in the sky do not lie. plays from the booth is just one main reason the defense has in proued.

I must say, this year is turning out very nicely. Not counting the time we got robbed by the replacement officials, the Ravens have only been beaten by the Texans. And that was the banged up, bargain bin Ravens defense. Now all of our critical pieces are in place, with the exception of Webb and McPhee as we move into the home stretch and the hardest games on our schedule.

Okay although our defense looked awesome last sunday, the chargers O-line is maybe the worst line in the league.... Upshaw is startin to look good though! I want the Ravens to draft another defensive lineman, or a MLB #1 overall again this year. We have a young offensive line that can only get better. I like our receivers, i like Bernard Pierce backing up Rice. Our CBs are banged up, but we have great safeties, I'm just not confident in our D-line this season. Never should have let Jarrett Johnson go...

All Admit this about the Ravens this ,when we win we win as a team its not one guy making all the plays ,and i cant say that about to many teams in the Playoff Picture let alone the Nfl ,with that said me being a Lakers Fan also were used to Kobe being a one man show, and that does not win to many Games in any sport,no this is not the 2009 or 2000 Ravens ,but this is the 2012 Ravens ,that make the huge plays when needed and rely more on another Off/Def i think as tho there not comparable this team this year is still Unique because its been a very long time since i have seen this type of Play ,might have to go back to the 80's ,where teams were Built more as a team not teIm

Theres three guys I've been really impressed with on defense. #1 Kruger- hes really stepped up with JJ gone and has been a beast. He has also shown some glimpses are greatness. #2 Ellerbe- He gets my most improved player award so far this year. I also have him as our defensive MVP right now. With Ray out he has played great and even seems like he will be the starter next to Ray. He has consistently made plays and been all over the field. #3 All of our corners- Webb and Smith were huge losses, but I realized we have some really good depth behind them. Williams has played better recently and Graham has been a big help there and on ST. Chykie Brown who some were saying we should have gotten rid of instead of Gorrer has been pretty solid for this being his first real playing time.

Upshaw is playing well, but has got to get better at getting off his blocks. Hopefully, w/all the great teachers on our team, he will only get better. I still wanted us to move up/trade/find a way to get Hightower also. Either way, Upshaw will be a good one and I'm glad he's a Raven.

I give credit where credit is due and I have to give it up to Paul Kruger, I wasn't sold on him early in the year but he's step his game up to the next level in getting to the QB and stopping the run. Hopefully he can keep it up through the rest of the season and through the playoffs. Now all the Ravens need is for Kemoeatu & Cody to step their game up

I'd like to see the Ravens draft a hard hitting MLB that Ray can "school up",...

A Jedi Master can lead by example but only train one Apprentice in order to maintain balance in the Purple "Force"!

Cleveland, Oakland, Pitt sans Ben, Oakland. I liked Paul last year and didn't know why so many didn't think he'd do well. But Harbs said he's improved since a slow start. Courtney may be a really good player someday. He's a rookie off to a good start. Art Jones has come round and according to comments last night on Mid Atlantic Sports Report he's improved his technique by working hard and learning his job. Man he's bigger than I thought. One of Krugers highlights was through an opening the d line made but still he managed to get by and he's getting kudos during games for his hand skills. But I reserve the right to wait for a rematch against the Texans. But as is obvious all the contributions on both sides backups and improvements in some of the new players has been evident in the wins. Again they have to show up when it's not Cleveland but NE. I was disappointed when Mike Preston for the Balt. Sun who I don't think has a great rep locally had opinions about Joe which echo some of my own. Mike was able to dissect Joe's play which I can only judge from way out in left field. Mike says Joe can't make good decisions at the line. But worse he can't make throws in man on man coverage. He's good like in the come from behind when u give him a prevent defense in zone cuz when he gets hot he is streaky. Just this morning the discussion turned to Alex Smith being replaced and what they said goes for Joe too. He needs a good defense and offense and so forth and he'll do good. But he isn't the qb you want when u need a leader who can carry a team. All the quotes this season that it's Joe's team from team mates sounds like the company line. But Oz won't pick another QB the because he needs to improve the line. Funny I thought Mike had said they were doing better. I guess he needs more evidence.

All I care about is the Ravens keeping it up, and continuing to move forward. I'm very excited about this defense as of late. It will be interesting to see how they do against a great offense.

Number 1 red zone defense, number 2 in turnover ratio. This is why we're 9-2.

Who gives a crap about yards?!

Kruger is only getting sacks cuz Suggs is back and being double teamed. [/quote] If we take away Kruger the same thing would happen to Suggs. When Suggs was out they had their hands full with Kruger. Now that they're both playing we have two they gotta worry about..

I agree that the return of Suggs has helped the other guys to get free. Still, when all is said and done, Suggs is a force to be reckoned with any time he is on the field. All hail #55, King of Sacksville.

I would love to see the Ravens draft a guy like Nico Johnson (Crimson Tide) in April. He has played with Upshaw. I see a kid like this coming in here and challenging right away. Teo is going to be gone by the time we draft at the bottom of the first round.

Welcome back, defense. Glad to see it!

And I tip my hat to Pees, after being a critic for a while there of him. Thank you Pees for making the improvement!
