So instead of getting work done, I've been procrastinating and watching a lot of college football. I decided to make a preliminary first round mock draft based on where I think teams will end up and what needs I see on each team. I'll do the first three rounds for the Ravens.

1. Jacksonville – Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
2. KC – Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
3. Cleveland – Barkevious Mingo, DE, LSU
4. Philadelphia – Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
5. Carolina – Star Lotuleilei, DT, Utah
6. Oakland – Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State
7. Arizona – Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
8. St. Louis – Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State
9. St. Louis (from Washington) – Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
10. Tennessee – Manti Te’o, ILB, Notre Dame
11. Buffalo – Tyler Wilson, QB, Arkansas
12. Miami – Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M
13. San Diego – Keenan Allen, WR, Cal
14. Minnesota – Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
15. NYJ – Alex Okafor, DE, Texas
16. Detroit – Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
17. Cincinatti – Kenny Vaccaro, Safety Texas
18. Dallas – Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA
19. New Orleans – Tank Carridine, DE, Florida State
20. Seattle – Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee
21. Tampa Bay – Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida State
22. Indianapolis – Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame
23. Pittsburgh – Sam Montgomery, DE, LSU
24. Atlanta – Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame
25. NYG – Alec Ogletree, LB, Georgia
26. Chicago – Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
27. Denver – Kawann Short, DT, Purdue
28. New England – TJ McDonald, Safety, USC
29. SF – Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri
30. Houston – Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon
31. GB – Jesse Williams, DT, Alabama
32. Bal – Kevin Minter, ILB, LSU

First Round -- Minter is a tackling machine who is instinctive and also possess impressive range.
He has above average coverage skills in both man to man and zone drops.

Second Round -- Eric Reid, FS, LSU. Another LSU player, Eric Reid is a big physical safety who is not
afraid to lay the lumber. He also covers a lot of ground on the back end and has above
average ball skills.

Third Round -- Datone Jones, DE, UCLA. Jones is very active player who would be a great fit in our 3-4
scheme. He is stout against the run and has impressive pass-rush abilities for a man his
size. He could shoot up draft boards, but if we could get him in the 3rd round I would be
thrilled.

I like it. I really like Minter, too. He's a beast. He really does have great instincts and is the 2nd best ILB next to Te'o.

Eric Reid is Erid Reid. I'm very fond of him and would love to have him. If not him then I also like Elam, Lester, and Phillips.

I would be very pleased with our first two picks.

Just saw Datone Jones. He's good but I would be surprised if he was there in the 3rd and even then I feel like we could get a quality 3-4 DE at this point. I still really like Sharrif Floyd, whom I would love to have here.

Way, WAY too high for Chance Warmack. Everyone projected Decastro to be a Top 15 pick but he fell to the 20's and I believe just because Warmack is a Guard he will fall to the late teens early 20's. I do believe Barrett Jones could go in the first round as a Center similar to the Pouncey Brothers and Alex Mack.

Cool, except Washington doesn't have a 1st round pick. Otherwise, I like it.

I dunno man, everything I've seen about Minter just screams average to me. I'm not sure what it is but I don't like his tape.

Great! Only one problem...... Idt that Oz will draft two LSU players...... Just sayin.
I like Reid and Jones, but in the first, I think we go offense. Marquise Lee if he declares will probably be around that area (Man amongst boys in CB, doesn't have the true size to be the elite WR picks in this class, but will be a superstar in the nfl. I guarantee it. Zach Ertz in the first is who I want if Tyler is off the board....

Its about projection as an NFL player. A lot of the pressures he puts on QBs doesnt show up on the stat sheet.

Ertz is not a first round talent. But I agree on the two LSU players point.

Marquise is only a sophomore so he has one year left. I cant see us going offense in the first round though with so many holes on defense.

True, Nfl players are drafted based on potential..... Look at Torrey smith for example. Many experts said that he has the physical skill to go in the top 15. But, he did not have a proper route tree, and had stone hands. If he stayed in college another year, there is no doubt in my mind that he would be top 5. If a player is raw (like Mingo is), then the stock glass, but the potential helps them a bit. Take another player I like Akeem ayers. A poor combine dropped his stock (if you want my honest opinion, I think that if we could've predicted that Webb was goin to be the all pro that he was... Then I would've taken ayers over Jimmy, only player I would've taken there other than jimmy) not a lot of potential shown...... But he is talented in his own way.

Fair fair, but I think we need a compliment to Pitta, that's all

Ayers has always been a 4-3 OLB though. Or am I thinking of someone else?

haha no, I just feel that strongly about him, and it's my draft =)

To me having a strong interior is just as important as a quality tackle. There are so many talented interior Dlineman that you really need excellent Guards and Centers as well. Warmack is dominant in run and pass blocking. If I was a team like Philly, who has a huge hole at RG I wouldn't think twice about taking him. Maybe I would try to trade down, but that is outside the scope of what I was tyring to do.

well we both agree on the importance of interior lineman, which is nice to see I feel like they're importance is played down, but a great O line can make average players look better, and we have probowlers in our offence so imagine how good they'd look with a guy like warmack. I do believe however that guards always fall since teams over emphasize the importance of protecting the QB, and a QB can see pressure up the middle, and to the right, but its those huge hits from his blind side that are season ending so a team with a terrible line is most likely to draft a tackle, mind you the eagles have Peters so perhaps you are right...touche.
