Does anyone know how good of a OC Whisenhunt was for the Steelers?
Good enough to become a HC

Also they won a SB with him at OC and finished 16th, tied for 15th, and 7th in total offense and 9th, 12th, and 11th in points per game.

Why don't we go after someone's established coordinator? The league has poached the Ravens coaches forever. So many things could be done yet nothing is.

Sadly, I don't see Cam being canned unless the team fails to make the play-offs (it would actually be surprising even then) or the offense's failures lead to the team crashing out of the play-offs.
Eh. I would agree if this were last year. Barring a Super Bowl appearance I think cam is gone.

Im thinkingTom Moore....or Jason Garrett (if he gets fired as HC)

Tom Moore was Indianapolis' OC during "The Peyton era" including their 2 superbowl appearances and 1 ring. Moore is an excellent OC primed on a heavy offensive attack revolving around the no huddle. He obviously had one of the best qbs to work with, but if he came here he would have Flacco and a good crop of receivers to work with and Ray Rice which arians never really had a solid runningback to work with when he was with Indy. Currently he is an offensive assisstant for the Titans and would be awesome if we could bring him here.

Beleive it or not we almost had Jason Garrett instead of Harbaugh back in 2008, we gave him an offer but he decided to stay in Dallas. Garrett is a great OC prospect seeing that since 2007 the cowboys have been a top offensive machine (yet still a laughably mediocre team) but thanks mostly to jason Garrett. And if you look at Romo's stats he has always been performing well since 2007 and Romo chokes just as bad as flacco does. I think if Garrett got fired this could be a great option.

Also Hue Jackson would be another great option. He obviously is somewhat of a household name to most ravens fans. But I seriously think he could help our offense, Right now he is just an assisstant on the bengals. Last time he was calling plays the raiders were a top 5 offense.

Other notables- Ken Whisenhunt
Chris Palmer
Al Saunders

I suggested Ask Madden jokingly before but it may be a better play caller than Cam. Just put an Xbox or PS3 on the sideline and before each play, Harbs hits the ask Madden Button and whatever play comes up, he relays to Joe and that's the play we run.

On a more serious note, the way this Arizona/Seattle game is going, Ken Whisenhunt may be fired tomorrow, so what about Whiz coming in and being our new OC? If he gets fired tomorrow, we can bring him to Baltimore in similar fashion the Pats brought McDaniels in before the playoffs began.

What kind of offense does he run?

Good Question. He is a beast in Madden lol. Torrey Smith in the slot, plus a second rounder for Julio Jones, and Tommy Streeter= Money.

My Previous argument!
Petition to sign me as OC!

As the new OC of the Ravens, I will run the rare "Super No Huddle Offense"
This offense would utilize the screens more often and permanently eliminate end arounds
I would utilize Ray Rice more often, Balance is everything.
And When the D backs are prepared for a screen pass about the third quarter, I will call a deep bomb to Torrey and he will be Wide open bc he will blaze past them after biting off the double move.

#Irrelevant as OC 2013
Give me the madden controller

If Whisenhunt is fired, that's who I want. He'd love to stick it to Pittsburgh for not hiring him when Cowher left. And he's a great offensive coach on top of that. At the very least, he understands that Boldin goes in the slot so that's better than we're doing right now.

Then we have to have a WR drafted :(

Why's that? Jacoby and Torrey outside. Or, Streeter if he develops.

Torrey is fine, Streeter might not develop and Jacoby has stone hands!

Yeah I don't understand your logic on this one. As an OC, let alone a new OC, in an organization with a well established front office he wouldn't have the power to do that on draft day. Additionally, there are plenty of quality young receiving prospects on this squad. Wisenhunt would be able to do work with this group, since he was successful with Pittsburgh's receiving corps before they were really good. Boldin, Jacoby, and Torrey are way better than wHines Ward, which is pretty much all he had there (I believe Plax went to New York early in his tenure if he was there for it at all, but admittedly I'm not a Steeler personell history expert).

Good enough for me. Now we need to find way to make Whiz and Fitzgerald a package deal. Along with Daryl Washington, and Patrick Peterson.
I don't think we have the cap space for him, but I'd be willing to throw in Oher and Rice with a second rounder if Arizona would be willing to make the deal. They won't because he's their marketing cornerstone, but I'd be willing.

It really is a shame that Fitzgerald is a top WR and he doesn't have a QB.

I want a Erhardt-Perkins style offense. Even though our TE's aren't the greatest blockers they could probably do. Run the ball, alot of short passes, and play action deep.

DO NOT WANT Norv nor understand why anybody else would. We have finally gotten rid of Cam, why would we hire somebody just like him?

It won't be. My money is on Hue Jackson. Joe likes Hue as well. So maybe if we bring in Hue we can work out a more favorable contract for Joe. Allow Joe to have a say. It goes a long way.

Looks like this thread is irrelevant now
Not really. It should be re titled to 'Who should the OC be for 2013?'. Barring a miraculous offensive ending. I find it hard to believe that Caldwell will be the guy going forward.

me neither. its just to give us a chance in the playoffs (we already knew it was 1 and done with cam anyway) but you never know maybe he will do so good to keep his job. all we can do is discuss until sunday and going forward then we can analyze something.

The media seems to think that Ken Whisenhunt is on the outs in Arizona, and he's still my top choice.
