I want Hugh Jackson or Jim Zorn back. They are proven and we shouldn't have let them go
this. i'd rather have either of these 2 than have another failed air coryell experiment like norv. we need WCO

Im sorry, but im not going to partake of the Caldwell Kool-aid, can't say I am particularly happy with the job he has done with Flacco.

Fresh blood from college imo...

Put Pees on notice, if it aint broke, dont adjust it....
With that said, how about you give some examples of OC from College teams that you might want, doesn't matter if you don't know their names you could simply say OK-state OC or Oregon's OC...

We need us a Mike Shannahan type of offensive coordinator. Who out their fits the mold of Shnnahan?
Unfortunately that would be Gary Kubiak, but now the Texans have finally stopped going 8-8 every year so he's safe. Kyle Shanahan actually calls the Redskins plays and has learned the system from Mike, but he's not leaving the safety of Dad just yet.

I still like :
Hue Jackson,
Al Saunders,
Jim Zorn,
Norv Turner ( I don't care if its the same system Norv Turner will do for an offense what Wade Phillips did for Houston's Defense.)
Pete Carmichael (Saints yes I know Sean Peyton was calling plays for the Saints but I once heard Mangini speak about how a team that has a HC that calls plays for the O or D, will have an OC or DC to develop a gameplan throughout the week. )
Bill Callahan ( I really don't think Callahan is anything more than a figurehead consultant for Garrett at this point, good offensive mind too.)

Head coaches can request plays. I remember in college football tommy Bowden for Clemson requested a play from the offensive coordinator to find out it wasn't installed aka some simple run play and got himself fired..haha.

Playmakers need to touch the ball! Not to dismiss cam....BUT Peyton manning used to audible to running plays to make sure Edgrin James got involved when his coach got pass happy! Why did flacco's not do something to get ray rice involved?
Beacuse Flacco is not good enough to demand the passing respect a brady/brees/Manning/Rodgers/Rothesburger gets. Rice's running ability has fell of the cliff the last two years. I dont know why all you clowns keep clamoring for them to feed rice, when he gets 2-3 yards most carries, and goes down like a sack of crap the second someone touches him. Its a game of first downs, 10 5 yard runs will beat a 30 yard run and 9 2 yard runs anyday. Which one creates more first downs/TOP/extendes drive and keeps the defense rested? Rice is not AP or Foster and sure is not a banger who can fight for the extra yards and wear down a defense. If it wasnt for him catching the garbage dumps, he wouldnt be close to a top 10 EFFECTIVE yard RB.

OH but we need to feed the ball to rice and all of a sudden we win? GET REAL

I mean he didnt just get us a 29 yard gain on 4th down to help us come back or nothing.

Jason Garrett. The Boys have games left against the Steelers and Bengals and will lose both games. He'll be fired and we can offer him the job. He wouldn't take the Head Coaching position but he might accept the OC position so he could be waiting in the wings for Harbaugh's job.

If we can Cam, don't you think we'll be getting a "Harbaugh guy" as a replacement? I just don't think Ozzie and Steve would go fishing for their own OC at the expense of their HC. They're not Jerry Jones.

Even though I just ripped Hue Jackson in a different thread, I'd like him as a candidate, especially since he's Joe's former QB coach. But again, no matter who we get (if we fire Cam at all), I think the decision will partially go through Harbs.

Because nobody knew it to begin with, so nobody could forget it.

I really didn't know that. Neat!

I don't have the sharpest memory, but you're telling me that Cam was interviewed here before he was fired by MIA? Because we fired Billick literally the day after the season finale that year, before Cam was fired. Why would he interview here when he still technically had another job, hell, a higher one at that? And Harbs put together this staff when he came here.

I said was coming to interview..

Everyone knew that CAM was going to get fired for the 1-15 season. Bill Parcells had come in and everyone knew that CAm was a goner from that moment on.

Every message board had the chatter going on.

He was not hired till March.

Cam wasn't hired until March? That's not true.

A chimp using "Ask Madden".
I suggested Ask Madden jokingly before but it may be a better play caller than Cam. Just put an Xbox or PS3 on the sideline and before each play, Harbs hits the ask Madden Button and whatever play comes up, he relays to Joe and that's the play we run.

On a more serious note, the way this Arizona/Seattle game is going, Ken Whisenhunt may be fired tomorrow, so what about Whiz coming in and being our new OC? If he gets fired tomorrow, we can bring him to Baltimore in similar fashion the Pats brought McDaniels in before the playoffs began.

Sadly, I don't see Cam being canned unless the team fails to make the play-offs (it would actually be surprising even then) or the offense's failures lead to the team crashing out of the play-offs.

I'd like that, but if memory serves that's because Bill O'Brien left his post and they filled it with McDaniels - for any change to occur there must first be a vacancy.
