I thought of Norv too, but do you think we need another west coast offensive guy?
To me its not the system, its the cordinator. I dont have a problem with the west coast style, its how you incorporate your key players in it. i would like to think norv would know that we dont have a vincent jackson elite reciever but we have an elite rb, therefore find ways to use him correctly. Look at how any reid used to use westbrook, he was the primary focus of that offense, which i easily think ray rice should be our main focus. I think its a tragedy that rice had 12 carries and didnt even get a carry in the 4th quarter, im done with cam period.

That is VERY possible....I think Turner's ticket out was punched yesterday.
agreed. I dont know what other teams will be looking for a OC tho, i would like to think we are the best contender he could go to. All this of course, is based on the fact that we let cam go...which im scared we wont

Doesn't norv bring the same style as Cam... we need to abandon that style and run an offense that consists of short crossing routes play action... running the ball and possibly life without Flacco. Save the money and rebuild our defense. Our offense has the weapons even with Taylor or a new qb all together. Caldwell has worked the whole year with Taylor let's see what he can do. The NFL is changing and young mobile qbs are making a splash... minus Brady Manning(s).
I think it would be a massive mistake to make that move without flacco. we dont need to focus on rebuilding our defense, we have two good cbs (smith and webb, hurt) upshaw, suggs, ngata, etc.....we will draft accordingly but i dont think we need to overhaul or defense. Dont forget we have the best redzone defense in the nfl, we may allow yards, but we dont allow scoring very much. We need a cordinator that can focus on strengths of flacco, not try and make him something hes not. If anything needs to be rebuilt, its our oline

I may be wrong but free agents to be... kruger Jones reed williams ellerbe Lewis has one more year. We need a good DT and maybe a mlb. And Webb and Smith will be coming off surgeries. Flacco is an average qb but he and his agent want too much money and I believe that he is just not the answer. The Ravens gambled with him the first year and we have rode the ride mostly behind the defense and now we are trying to force Flacco on the NFL and how great he is but what if we gambled on Taylor or someone else spent the money on the line; defense and maybe make some draft moves to get a higher pick not afraid to spend money. Jmo.

Im sorry, but im not going to partake of the Caldwell Kool-aid, can't say I am particularly happy with the job he has done with Flacco.

Fresh blood from college imo...

Put Pees on notice, if it aint broke, dont adjust it....

I don't think Andy Reid would be the best fit, but yes Cam has to go. It is so plain to see, I can't keep supporting Harbs if he keeps bringing this guy back. Sorry that is just how I feel.

Hell no, Andy have screwed the Eagles out of potential SB wins with his unbalanced playcalling. If people think Ray Rice is under utilized now, you haven't seen anything yet.

the air corydell fits Joe Flacco very well and honestly not all offensive coordinators that go by the air corydell philisophy use it the same way as cam. It would be cool to see Joe Flacco in a west coast offense but a air corydell offense still suits him well but he probably just a different oc that uses in a different way

I see what you mean, i however do think joe is the answer...i just think cam bottlenecks this offense drastically.

I think Cam is playing to what used to be Joes strengths. Deep throws (outs streaks posts etc) and that is our problem... Joe holds the ball and is missing those throws. Joe has trouble with short routes or quick reads... unless it is a dump to Rice. He picks a wr and stays with him until the pocket collapses. With the former lines maybe that was OK... but our line now is built to run and for those quick routes. I just believe that after five years in the league a qb would progress and I think he has hit his ceiling with this team he will never get over that hump with or without Cam as OC. It may be time to move on. It worked for the chargers with Brees and Rivers (until lately). Maybe Taylor isn't the answer but we would never know if no one takes a chance. I think most people are afraid because they think of Troy Smith or Michael Vick but what about Russell Wilson or RGIII. And I sure there are others... if I am wrong and we stink it up we can always shoot for the first pick and hope the kid from A&M is in the draft.

I like your mindset of taking chances, we just have different opinions of joe. I really do think he is a top 13 qb and i dont believe we can find another just like that. When have we ever had a qb that was worth anything other than mcnair, which was at the end of his career. I dont think taylor is the answer by any means, if he is i think we would have seen him a bit more. I think this is soley on cam which pretty sure a lot of people feel the same way. I just revert back to how brees was in san diego under cam, now look at brees. Maybe its the west coast system, or maybe its just cam...or hell maybe it is joe, but i dont think its joe. With all the players we have that are up in contracts, we will have some money to throw around, i hope we build up the oline and look at defense in the draft. If flacco gets offered a contract, i think its clear the coaches dont think taylor would be the answer. I dont think joe will ever be a brady, manning, rodgers....but how many teams can say they are actually happy with their qb? ive been since hes a rookie.

...if there's a name that should be mentioned is Mike McCoy! The offensive coordinator for the Broncos! He has the ability to ADJUST! Last year, he totally transformed the Broncos offense IN THE MIDDLE OF THE YEAR to accommodate Tebow's inadequacies as a passer to take them to the playoffs. And with a big play arm of Manning, he transformed the offense to a #5 offense -- and realizing that Manning's not young any longer -- he's protected. They have only given up 16 sacks this year -- only the Giants and Texans have less with 15 sacks. I'd pick him up in a heartbeat if he was available!

Mike McCoy's Bio from the Denver Broncos website.

Mike McCoy enters his fourth season as the Broncos’ offensive coordinator after being hired by the club on Jan. 20, 2009. A former quarterback who competed in Denver’s 1995 training camp as a rookie college free agent, McCoy spent nine years (2000-08) coaching with the Carolina Panthers, including seven seasons under John Fox, before joining the Broncos.
McCoy, who also coached the Broncos’ quarterbacks in 2009 in addition to his offensive coordinator responsibilities, worked in a variety of offensive capacities with the Panthers after beginning his coaching career with the club in 2000. He had stints as Carolina’s passing game coordinator (2007-08), quarterbacks coach (2002-08) and wide receivers coach (2001) while also handling offensive assistant duties (2000, ‘02) with the team.
During his NFL coaching career, McCoy has overseen six individual 3,000-yard passing seasons from his work with Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme (4) and Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton (2). He also has been involved with the coaching of four Pro Bowl selections, helping Delhomme (2005) along with Broncos tackle Ryan Clady (2009) and wide receivers Brandon Marshall (2009) and Brandon Lloyd (2010) earn NFL All-Star honors.
In 2010, McCoy oversaw the NFL’s seventh-ranked passing offense, as Orton ranked fourth in the league with 281 passing yards per game. He also helped tutor quarterback Tim Tebow, who opened Denver’s last three regular-season contests and registered the highest quarterback rating (82.1) of the eight rookie starting signal-callers in the league. Under McCoy’s guidance, Lloyd led the NFL in receiving yards (1,448) and earned his first Pro Bowl selection, while becoming just the fourth wide receiver in team history to receive Associated Press All-Pro honors (second team). Running back Knowshon Moreno evolved into an every-down player in 2010 and totaled 1,151 yards from scrimmage (779 rushing, 372 receiving) to become just the fourth player in team history to reach 1,000 yards from scrimmage in each of his first two NFL seasons.
In his first year as Denver’s offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach in 2009, McCoy helped Orton reach career highs in every passing category while tying for fifth in the NFL and matching a club record with 10 90.0+passer rating games. Clady’s work at left tackle was recognized around the league with him earning the first Pro Bowl selection of his career and becoming only the fifth tackle since the 1970 league merger to be named a first-team Associated Press All-Pro by his second NFL season.
McCoy’s offense in 2009 featured another Pro Bowl pick in Marshall, who tied for third in the league with 101 receptions, including an NFL single-game record (21) in Week 14. Moreno also enjoyed a productive season, earning All-Rookie honors after becoming just the 14th player since the 1970 NFL merger to lead league rookies in rushing yards (947), yards from scrimmage (1,160) and total touchdowns (9). The Panthers totaled three playoff appearances, two division titles, two NFC Championship Game appearances and a berth in Super Bowl XXXVIII (2003 season) during McCoy’s nine years on staff from 2000-08. Carolina tied for the second-best record in the NFC (T-7th in NFL) from 2003-08, posting a 56-40 (.583) mark with McCoy seeing an increased role in coaching its offense in that six-year period. McCoy worked closely with Delhomme during six of his nine years coaching with the Panthers, helping the quarterback to his first career Pro Bowl selection (2005) and four 3,000-yard passing seasons (2003-05, ‘08).
As passing game coordinator/quarterbacks coach with Carolina from 2007-08, McCoy’s passing
offense averaged the seventh-most yards per completion (11.7) in the NFL during that time. Delhomme averaged the fifth-most yards per pass attempt (7.8) in the NFL during McCoy’s two seasons managing Carolina’s passing attack while wide receiver Steve Smith enjoyed similar success, ranking seventh in the league in receiving yards (2,423) over that period.
In 2008, McCoy’s instruction helped Delhomme rank fourth in the NFL in yards per pass attempt (7.9) and register his fourth career 3,000-yard passing effort (3,288). His passing offense featured a 1,421-yard receiving output from Smith that was the third best in the league and resulted in the wide receiver earning a Pro Bowl berth. The Panthers’ 12-4 regular-season record tied for the best mark by the club in franchise history and resulted in the team earning a first round playoff bye. Injuries forced the Panthers to start four different quarterbacks (none for more than three games in a row) in 2007, but McCoy’s group of passers answered the challenge. Carolina became the first NFL team in 10 years to win at least one game with four different starters at quarterback (Delhomme, David Carr, Matt Moore and Vinny Testaverde). McCoy’s instruction in 2007 prepared Moore, a rookie college free agent, to start the Panthers’ final three games and post victories in two of those three contests.
From 2002-06, McCoy served as the Panthers’ quarterbacks coach and also handled offensive assistant duties for the club during the first year of that period. His teaching helped Delhomme total 89 touchdown passes from 2003-06 that represented the fifth-highest total in the NFL. In 2006, Delhomme registered a career-high 61.0 completion percentage with McCoy’s instruction helping him post a 1.55 touchdown-to-interception ratio (17-11) that was the 10th best in the league. The Panthers had an 11-5 record and advanced to the NFC Championship Game in 2005, and McCoy’s efforts with Delhomme helped the quarterback tie for fourth in the league with 24 touchdown passes and earn his first career Pro Bowl selection. Delhomme enjoyed a career-year under McCoy in 2004, registering personal bests in passing yards (3,886) and touchdown passes (29) that both marked the second-best season totals in Panthers annals. Delhomme’s 1.93 touchdown-to-interception ratio (29-15) also ranked fifth in the NFL for the season.
McCoy helped the Panthers to an NFC South title and their first-ever Super Bowl berth (XXXVIII) during the 2003 season. Delhomme, in his first year as an NFL starter, registered a league-high seven fourth-quarter comeback drives that season. Carolina named McCoy its wide receivers coach in 2001, and he oversaw the development of Smith during his rookie campaign. Wide receivers Mushin Muhammad and Donald Hayes each recorded more than 50 catches and 500 receiving yards under McCoy’s instruction that year.
McCoy’s coaching career began with Carolina as its offensive assistant in 2000, and he was thrust into the quarterbacks coaching role four weeks into the season. He worked closely with veteran Steve Beuerlein, helping him total 3,730 passing yards that ranked seventh in the NFL. A quarterback in college, McCoy spent his first two seasons playing for Long Beach State University from 1990-91 under legendary Head Coach George Allen before transferring to the University of Utah for his final two years. His collegiate career ended in dramatic fashion in 1994 when he threw a gamewinning, 5-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Kevin Dyson in the final minute to give Utah a 16-13 win against Arizona in the Freedom Bowl.
The Broncos signed McCoy as a college free agent in 1995, and he spent the regular season as a rookie on Green Bay’s practice squad. He saw his first professional playing time with NFL Europe’s Amsterdam Admirals in 1997 and spent one game on San Francisco’s roster as its third quarterback that year. McCoy competed in training camp with Philadelphia in 1998 before concluding his playing career with the Canadian Football League’s Calgary Stampeders in 1999. McCoy was born on April 1, 1972, in San Francisco. He and his wife, Kellie, have one daughter (Olivia) and one son (Luke).
PRO BOWL PLAYERS COACHED (4): T Ryan Clady (2009, '11), QB Jake Delhomme (2005), WR Brandon Lloyd (2010), WR Brandon Marshall (2009), RB Willis McGahee (2011).

Only problem is I doubt he would want to come here as an OC. Usually coaches won't leave their current team to take the same role with another team, unless fired. Maybe if we made him HC, but that's a different conversation.

You can't steal someone of a team without giving them a promotion. He would need to be head coach.

Why would he leave manning anyway?

I can also see this thread getting shut down for copying that bio from somewhere.

Joe Lombardi -- grandson of Vince Lombardi is the QB coach in New Orleans. He learned under Sean Payton, and helped Brees with 2 -- 5,000 yard seasons. He's been a defensive assistant, coached throughout the college level. However, you'd want someone with more experience as the OC -- but I'd definitely consider trying to snag him onto the coaching staff for the future.

He's someone I haven't considered, but he has a good track record (AND he worked with a former Cam disciple and led him to a Superbowl and an NFL record). He'd be an interesting hire, but I'd be curious to see what he could do with Joe.
