I just found this article talking about how Dennis Dixon told the Steelers he'd rather stay on our practice squad than sign to their main roster. A little odd to hear of any player essentially turning down a promotion. Maybe he thinks he'll just be dropped again in a few weeks if/when Ben comes back. Either way, probably good for the Ravens that he won't be able to give Pittsburgh any information about the Ravens offense.

Best line of the whole article:
"He may simply feel he has a better chance to play in Baltimore - despite the fact starting quarterback Joe Flacco seems to be impervious to basic human frailty."

That's loyalty! Baltimore's locker room has impressed him with character. He'll be rewarded when Flacco eventually can't start anymore (injury, illness, personal matter, trade, etc). Knock on wood...

He's smart, once Ben and Byron are back he's as good as gone. Over here he can put in work and compete for the backup position.

Although I'm not sure why there is such a low opinion of him here and around the league, we've all seen what he is capable of.

I'm sure we all remember him playing pretty well against the Ravens back in 2009, with the exception of his final throw. I was actually pleased when we originally signed him. We seem to like having that different style QB as our backup, whether it's Troy Smith, Tyrod Taylor, or Dennis Dixon, and with Marc Bulger being the only backup QB we could really have been confident with since Harbaugh took over, an extra option in case Joe goes down certainly can't hurt.

In a time where teams never stay in tact due to cap issues this is a true sign of loyalty. I remember when the Patriots players were that way and they knew a team that plays together for a couple of years has a great chance to return to the big game year after year instead of letting money talk. How much money does any one person need anyway. I choose happy over money anytime.

He is a mole sending important information to the steelers.

I don't understand this at all to be honest. He'd have a much better chance getting playing time with the Steelers. All three of their QBs are prone to injuries and one is just this side of a walker.

The only thing I can think of is that he thinks he has a better shot of beating out Tyrod for the backup spot than he does going through Batch/Leftwich in Pittsburgh.

What do you want to bet that he has had little extra put in his bank account to stay away from pburgh this season.

He'd be fourth in line in Pitts. He'd be cut the minute they come, but you have to be on a roster for three weeks, at least on our ps squad he could get signed by some team like the bears were next offseason he has a great chance to battle for a spot on the 53. He even has that chance here next season, but zero, ziltch at Pitts.

Maybe he just values his health. It appears the Steers can't seem to keep their QBs from getting seriously hurt.

This is exactly what I was going to say. Maybe he enjoys the backup role. Easy gig here considering Flacco is an emotionless android sent from the future to stop CamNet from killing Ed Reeds super bowl dreams. He gets paid to ride pine and even if he does play, as bad as some may think our line is, you're a dead man throwing with Mike Adams as one of your pass protectors. That and who knows what Big Ben might try in th showers.
