The answer isn't too complicated. They took a knee to A. run down the clock so that if in the event they missed the field goal, SD wouldn't have as much time to get down the field and score, B. move the ball to the place Justin wanted to kick from. Justin is good from almost sixty yards , a couple of knees weren't going to take him out of his wheelhouse.
