imagine how our ravens will go into the chargers game if lions hold on, knowing we can be 9-2 same as texans, top of afc
they would still be top, technically. And we've a hell of harder schedule.

why do you keep calling him out. It's not his fault the lions threw the flag, he has to implement the rule
I agree. Cut the refs some slack, they did what's right. The rule is ridiculously stupid but their job is to enforce it.

when the rule is stupid and the truth matters, then someone can step up and ignore stupidity
walt Coleman could be put out of a job be disregarding a rule he clearly knew.
and I even agree with not blowing the play dead. How often do you see refs bowling plays dead to find out they shouldn't have and a fumble for example, isn't given cause they blow the runner down.

NFL never stated that a challenge flag negates a rule implemented that states all scoring plays are reviewed automatically. This was a made up rule similar to the Tuck Rule.

Even Mike Peria tweeted that the rule needs to be changed.

Wow, they called a penalty on Houston?
I think that happened so that Walt had a better chance of getting out of Detroit alive...

Yes, unbelievable, right? Although, had it been Ed Reed, it might have resulted in a fine. I thought the Texan hammered the Lion.
give over jo, the rule is there, it's no made up, it's actually happened before this year to Atlanta, who challenged a turnover, and then the play wasn't reviewed.

Just curious since I missed most of the first half - was Suh flagged for that kick to Schaub's pants-area?
Nope. He's also had another two very late hits on Schaub that weren't flagged.

I understand that it is a rule, I'm not arguing that it's just a stupid rule. Everyone on Twitter is saying that this rule needs to go.

Well, I checked the Official NFL Casebook and Penalty Book and can find absolutely nothing about an illegal challenge flag. I've seen them thrown before and the coach was just told the play was not reviewable.

Just an FYI. I'd be curious if someone could find such a rule.

Now. C'mon Lions!!!!!
its new this year and happened a few times already, I heard about it in the off season but forgot about it. It's happened Atlanta this year on a turnover, they threw a flag and then the refs can't review the turnover.
