this, fine notwithstanding, is an incredible win for Humanity. The "End of the World" is the end of business as usual. Sanity, Dignity won today, for a change.

I think the end result was good, but maybe I'm just a little more cynical than you guys. As Bob Labriola said: "Think the NFL agenda in suspending Reed and then rescinding was to con players into thinking the appeal process is fair and works? Me too."

There, they've proved it's possible. Now the NFL never has to overturn another decision again. The peasants have been appeased and NFL can go back to business as usual.

Maybe I'm being a little over the top, but if you think no damage was done to your team, think again. Now Reed has been put on notice; his merciful Overlords at the NFL have pardoned him, like that crazy [person] in Schindler's List. How sweet of them. But you can bet the next time his helmet even grazes a receiver's helmet, they will suspend him. As much as Reed will try to block this out, it will be there, tickling the back of his brain as he goes in for a hit to dislodge the ball. Maybe, he slows down just a hair before impact. Maybe its a reception that costs you a game.

I've seen it happen to Harrison since his suspension. I've seen him go full speed then slow up before impact, giving QBs that extra split second to release the ball. And at this point I don't think it's about the money. He doesn't want to let his teammates down with a suspension. Maybe it's not at the forefront of his mind, but you can't forget it completely.

As much as I "hate" players on your team out of fandom for my own, I respect the way your defense has played the game since the franchise started. Suggs is a beast, Reed took the position of FS to a staggering new level, and Ray Lewis transcends the game itself. In a way I'm happy that guys like Reed and Harrison are in the twilight of their careers and won't have to wear the jersey as the game they love gets softer and softer.

Just remember this Ravens fans, and I say this with the utmost respect for your franchise, 31 teams voted for the current CBA, but only the Steelers held out because they wanted to talk more about limiting Goodel's power and the fining and suspension process. The Steelers were the only team to vote against the Hines Ward rule, because it's a rule. And who is that rule going to hurt now? Not the Steelers. We have a team of small, finesse receivers now. You have Bolden who can block like [crazy].

The rest of the league ducked their heads in the sand as the Steelers were made the scapegoats of violence. It can't happen to us. John Harbaugh said, "Our guys get it." Well, as you've seen, there is no getting it. The game moves fast. QBs and receivers lower their heads at the last moment and defenders get the blame. James Harrison is 5'11 in cleats playing against QBs who are 6'5. Believe me, he doesn't jump to get to their heads (unlike Meriweather).

Anyway, that's my rant. Thanks for indulging me.

I just reread my post. Kind of funny that it edited out a the shorter name of the National Socialist Party that the guy in Schindler List was part of. But I can see how in most contexts in a message board that would be a slur. The other two deletions were perhaps profane. I probably should have said "sissy" and "SOB."

Ah. So being a hard hitter automatically makes you dirty. I see. The grudge against Bernard Pollard is at least somewhat understandable, given that he's made life miserable for a number of your players. I'm sure Ray Lewis and the 4 penalties he's had since 2010 are the epitome of playing dirty. What is Terrell Suggs guilty of to deserve such a reputation? Diving and missing the knee of Tom Brady? Cary Williams as well, eh? The player who, to my knowledge, has never had a personal foul called against him. Very interesting. Oh, and by interesting, I mean absurd, foolish and/or unsupported.

Cary Williams is in there because of this years game, can't believe he wasn't called on a blatant foul, that was dirty, not sure if he's always like that or only that play. Lewis is mostly on for what he's done off the field but I usually see him make a dirty hit whenever I get a chance to watch a Ravens game, had a real bad one against Pitt a while back.

And what play was that? Please let me know. Your first part about Lewis is asinine. Assuming you're referring to the charges against him in 2000, I'll also assume you that you didn't follow the case, and are going purely off of the typical uninformed opinion. And given that I've watched almost every single Ravens game for the last half a decade, without any additional specific plays, your statement has absolutely no real meaning. I'm assuming you're referring to his hit on Hines Ward? The one wherein both braced for impact and made helmet-to-helmet contact? Please. The only difference between that one and the recent Ed Reed one is that Reed turned his head before making the hit. But I'm sure you watched our last game against the Patriots. Since he apparently makes a dirty hit practically every time you watch him, let me know when he did so against your team.
