Insane. How many times has headhunter Ryan Clark been suspended?????? Zero.
If they are going to suspend Ed Reed for a culmination of items. They should be doing the same to every safety in the league.

At least he can rest up and get ready for the next Steelers QB (whoever that might be).

Seems a little bit excessive IMO. Did Reed hit with the helmet? Yes, but nothing about that hit looked intentional or using it as a weapon. Suspensions should be levied when people have disregard for the rules, and attempt to hurt the guy. Didn't look like that at all with Ed. I really don't understand how a guy with as small a frame as Reed is not going to hit his helmet into the guy he is tackling.

A safety that stands out for violating the rules would be Merriweather's hit on Heap a few years back. He launched, used his helmet to spear Heap's helmet. Both violations. This was just Ed flying in to make the stop.

I wish Reed Luck on the appeal but we all know he won't win. So thanks NFL for allowing Reed to get healthier, even if it is for one week.

Yeah thats really the only brightside in this. Rest up, and use all his attention for the Steelers. Even though we don't know who the QB is.

Pretty sure we brought him back to the practice squad when we signed Levine.

They said it was for being a repeat offender yet one of the three hits was way back in 2010
He had 1 earlier this year vs NE

I wouldn't be saying thanks. Rivers is just going to be throwing deep on us now against Cary and possibly Smith coming off an injury. (dont know, even if he does play he wont be 100 and he got lit up vs them last year)

Chargers need this win. They're at home, HC on hot seat, it's novemeber.... It's going to be hard. We had Reed last year and still got destroyed so idk.

I don't think Smith is playing. They were hoping we could just get him back before the end of the season. He'll probably be out like a month.
If Ed Reed's suspension stands, I would love to see Omar Brown promoted to the active roster and play Ed's position - he may surprise the rest of the league...

Apparently it won't be ben, according to doctors. He's be risking nerve damage.

You'll probably see David Reed activated or something. No sense in activating a player from the practice squad only to expose him to waivers a week later. Since they likely have a decision with David Reed coming up anyway, it makes sense to activate him and reevaluate once Ed is back.

Watching that hit I had a feeling a flag was coming EVEN THOUGH it looked to me Ed was trying to lay his shoulder into the guy IMO.

What are defenders supposed to do now? Let players catch it then try and tackle them? Ridiculous. Going over the middle of the field used to mean something. Those days are gone.

Ed is getting screwed here. When was the last time an appeal actually did anything other than raise player protest? It is all really a worthless charade.

Ed is hurt though, seems like every week he is toughing it out. Maybe this will help him get a bit healthier. I did like what I saw out of Ihedigbo last night. He seems to be picking up the defense lately.

Man our defense is the walking wounded. Glad we have guys stepping up. Last night was very impressive.

This is complete Goodell NFL BS! Let's compare hit by Reed to the hit Squeelers Ryan Clark put on DHB in Raiders game? What did he get? Slap on the wrist? Terrible.

It was Merton Hanks. Some piss poor DB that turned into NFL VP.

Aka Dominque Foxworth, aka clueless ex-player that has no idea wth he is doing @ NFL

I agree. He probably won't win the appeal having to go throught the judge and jury. Especially with the ton of concussions happening recently.
