10,000 ticket left. Possible this game can be a black-out...sigh
Won't be blacked out for us east coasters.
How so?
Blackouts are an owner's decision and it only affects the local market. Basically, it's "punishment" for the fans, since there's not enough people going to the stadium to fill it to max capacity. To sum it up in an equation: Ticket sales lead to parking spots, which then lead to merchandise and concession stands revenue, which just means more dollar bills in the owner's deep pockets...

Thus, any, other area, that would be showing the Ravens/Chargers match-up on its local CBS affiliate, will still show the game, as scheduled.

Hopefully Pitta's concussion isn't too bad. On one hand, I would like to save his health for the next Pit game, but on the other, If we go on the road without Flacco's other security blanket, it might get really ugly.
When you think about it, if the Ravens are refocused on Pitt,it wouldn't be the end of the world. If they win their remaining home games(Pitt,Den. and N.Y.G) that would set them up at 11-5 and winning the division. The only drawback to that would be it could risk getting that no.2 seed.

This game will be personal for many. Ex-Raven Antwan Barnes, Chris Carr, Jared Gaither, LeRon McClain, and Jarret Johnson all play for SD; not to mention Cam's return.

There's a poster on here named Macbrak who used to post pretty often but I haven't seen him post in quite awhile..he made all the avatars I end up using.

are you serious man? you can't be! after watching how this offense plays on the road what would make you even think this? i must respectfully...SMH @ you. lol!

~Mili
We might play down to the level of our opponent but our offense still has the capacity to score as evidenced by the Oakland game. San Diego relies on their offense and live and die by Rivers. If Rivers is on (which he usually is against us) we'll need to go score for score with them. This is even more likely now that our ballhawk is out with a bullcrap suspension...

They are at near the bottom against the pass, but our road offense is not even better, ranked out of 32 on the road....

If we travel in the postseason, there is no hope.......

how come the Ravens always play out west instead of the chargers coming east to M&T?

~Mili
Charger fan here. I agree. The last 4 Ravens-Chargers meetings have been at Qualcomm. Also, the last 4 Chargers-Steelers meetings have been in Pittsburgh (1 of those being a playoff game). Makes no sense to me. And also don't be worried about this week. Ravens should have no problem.

I think people are greatly overestimating Philip Rivers. He doesn't play like he did a couple years ago, he's a completely different QB! He has 18 turnovers in 10 games! He doesn't have Vincent Jackson or Mike Tolbert anymore. Antonio Gates is also past his prime. The Chargers' offense is NOT going to win relying on Matthews and rookie Alexander.

you can't really use the Ravens offensive performance in the oakland game as a reference point for them playing well on the road next week brah! sure, we won that game...good! but the reality is.....it was the raiders and the Ravens were at home! it's already been clearly proven and established that the Ravens offense (for some odd reason) seems to consistently lay hot, stinky, smelly eggs on the road! now they are heading out west? let's just hope for a win at this point!

not to get picky but alexander isnt a rookie. but i agree with you he is lacking weapons of the past. i just remember classic Rivers deep ball over and over last year to more than just jackson and matthews running wild also. my concern is our offense vs their defense they have had injuries in the secondary but they still have strong guys in the right positions like the chiefs suck statistically but can play a tough game if your not prepared.

Just saw the NFL.COM Powerranking:

Joe Flacco at home: 66.5 completion percentage, 322.4 yards per game, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions.

Joe Flacco on the road: 54.2 completion percentage, 176.6 yards per game, three touchdowns and four interceptions.

I am drooling over those home stats and get a migraine, when I look at those on the road stats. Man.

Those splits are insane. I cant understand how there can be such a massive difference. We have played dome tough secondaries on the road, but still...

We need to win this game. Keep in mind Broncos and Patsies are only 1 game behind Ravens for 2nd seed in AFC (first round bye in Playoffs) which is very important for us. I wouldn't want Ravens playing Denver or New England on the road in Playoffs, I'm hopefull Houston will get knocked out and then everyone would have to come to M&T Bank. We hold the tie-breaker with Patsies, but we still have to play Broncos, who are looking extremely dangerous at this time.
We need to put Chargers out, its not gonna be any easier from now on.

Basically we need to beat Denver and hope houston gets upset. We are not winning in Houston. Not that I lack faith, because we still have a chance, but we need to have the afc game here.

How much do the WRs play in this? Seems there are more dropped passes and WRs running wrong routes, etc. It's not all Flacco

Rivers loves to jack up the ball down the field so hopefully our CB's are up for the task and hopefully Ed confines himself more for this game and takes less gambles. Comeback route and bombs away is Phillip Rivers game. His balls have no zip so hopefully our CB's can jump a couple of the comeback routes with Ed cheating over the top of course for the double move. Pees style of coaching might suite us better for facing a team like the Chargers.

idk if those are career or for this year (in regard to completion %) but, if its this year I am sure the no huddle has a lot to do with it.

Its the first year installing the no huddle. There are bound to be bumps on the road due to the excessive noise from opposing crowds. Its not an easy system to master I'm sure.

I do think communication and inexperience are partly to blame so that probably ties into trying to run a no-huddle. Poor oline play has certainly been a contributing factor as well. Throw in Cam Cameron's playcalling and I think I answered my question.

Caution! 6'5" Danario Alexander just arrived a few weeks ago and has looked better each week. And lets not overlook Malcolm Floyd the other 6'5" WR.

Phillip Rivers is still a dangerous QB who gave Denver a run last week and seemed to gain confidence with Alexander in the game. Also, I will not be surprised to see Chargers Rookie 6'6" TE, Ladarius Green in the game. The height of these players could become a real problem if Rivers gets time to throw.

I hope what you say proves to be right but the Chargers is a team the Ravens consistently has problems with, The past is no indication of future events but that is a fact that should not be overlooked...yet.

it's not about faith with me Bmore...and it's not about looking at our team with the purple glasses. i'm way beyond that brah! lol! we're 8-2...yeah! we're leading the division....yeah! but, let's keep it real! we're 11 games into the season and we've seen what the Ravens offense has done so far on the road game after game after game...they've stunk up the joint! it needs to be corrected!

im with you Mili its glaringly obvious were just not the same team on the road offensively for whatever reason (coaching, players, scheme, etc..) its been that way for two years now maybe even in 2010 but even with San Diego's struggles i see this game being very tough for that reason.

i hear you ravens88. i actually love our offensive players on the roster and feel that they should be balling out in every game but their inconsistent game play on the road just pisses me off to the last degree man!

All I remember is that last year we played the Chargers when they were in a similar rut and Norv, Rivers, Floyd, and Jackson (I still can't believe we had opportunities at BOTH Floyd and Jackson and missed out) came out and made our top ranked passing defense look like a college defense. It seemed that way in the past, too - I remember a game where Flacco had to basically go toe-to-toe with Rivers and even then we needed a monster play by #52 (still one of my favorite Ray Lewis moments ever) on Sproles to pull that one off.

I mean the o line didnt look great in pitt/houston but what o line would? Remember we are starting two rookies on that line (harewood/reid and osemele) and we moved Oher once again to the opposite side of the line (seriously give the guy 2 years in a row on one side). Tbh I think the oline has looked pretty good.
