A sack there was a blessing in disguise..... It ran the clock, cam told joe not to throw an incompletion.... Taking a sack there wasn't bad... Not enough time for anyone to score really...... The first time in the playoffs he was a rookie. The second one was on the D, as he had a great game there
lol a blessing? he could have ran up two yards and got the first, but he was to busy flinching when nobody was really pressuring and moved right into James Harrison. If you watch the highlights or if you alreay dvr'd it.

You want him to get killed????? These guys have no sympathy for joe, he has killed them recently.... If they hurt him, they don't care. He knows this.... He goes off scrambling, they go for the head.... They don't care... And an incompletion meant the clock would stop... Giving them more time.... Good solid play

Easy for us to say at home that Flacco could've ran two yards, but what if he had fumbled? What if he had taken a big hit from one of the linebackers, whose closing speed is much faster than we can guess?

The sack wasn't ideal, but it wasn't the worst thing in the world. Flacco throws the ball and it's a pick or dropped to stop the clock, we'd all be second-guessing even worse. Rice runs the ball and fumbles on a defensive overload, we'd still second-guess.

It's hard to hate the outcome of the call given the outcome of the game.

Simple answer: His standards are pretty low for an Elite Qb.

Hes 6'6 240-245 if you are not going to make plays with your feet at all, be physical from time to time.. oh btw they rushed three
As big as he is, he is still Mortal..... David can slay Goliath... I don't want him injured..... Harrison doesn't care. Would you rather have joe whomplays it safe, or have Ben, who tries to be the hero and gets killed (btw, his SBs had nothing to do with him. One lucky play, in the second one, and the first one they won in spite of him)

I never said do this every play, nor did I say do it sometimes, but when you have a chance to run out the clock by rushing for two yards to help secure a victory I say go for it

So I assume you'd rather have Boller or Tyrod playing? Our defense played well, so he did the smart thing and went down to keep the clock running. If he did what you suggested and fumbled or something, which is easily possible, god only knows what you'd be saying.

It was a bad game for Joe in terms of accuracy. I'm going to say that outright. I'm a huge Flacco supporter, too. With that said, I didn't see too many bad decisions. His throwing was just off. He took one stupid sack, and the other was a smart idea; though I would have rather he run with the ball than take the sack on 3-2 or whatever it was.

One part of that game that went unnoticed is Flacco did not once turn over the ball. Pretty impressive, if I do say so myself.
I think most of the apparently errant passes were off by design, save for two that I can recall. Good decisions, no picks.

Regardless, in that situation we should've run the ball. Then this issue wouldn't even be talked about. Shows how the play calling can affect the perception of a player, especially in that situation.

I havent posted here in a long time, but I'm going to give the same rant as I just did on Twitter. We just won the freaking game. We WON. And we have won consistently for 4 and a half years now with Flacco as our quarterback. Our defense factors in, but we are 8-2. Is that not getting into some people's heads? Some of you literally act like you would rather have Grbac, Boller, Banks, Wright (list goes on) as our quarterback. Flacco is infinitely better than all of them but half of this fanbase still complains. I didn't know we were so spoiled with even DECENT QBs in the past to be complaining about Joe. He wasn't great tonight, maybe not even good. But he managed the game, didnt make any mistakes, and WON. His numbers weren't terrible. He made some bad throws, but he did enough to win. Some of you either need to get a serious reality check or just turn in your fan cards. The ignorance and stupidity of anyone who thinks Flacco sucks/should be released just amazes me. Flacco can and will lead us to the Super Bowl, and soon. So enjoy it while it lasts.

No, I wouldn't rather have Joe playing, but when your qb runs off at the mouth I would personally like him to back it up. Hes a laughing stock of the media, because of what he proclaimed himself to be. Just sad to see its his 5th year in the nfl and still has the same problems. He has made some growth, but now he blows on the road like a rookie would or something.

So many inaccuracies

Joe was facing a very good D, who double covered Torrey (our best WR) and did good against Q. I wanted him to light it up, but he didnt, just a good D

Rice was playing the same D.

Mediocre QB's don't have clutch ability like Joe does

This was going to be a battle defensivley anyway. Joe is a good QB, who can be elite.

I suppose Joe was facing a elite D on every bad games he play. If that isnt your excuse, i know it be something else. He stunk, no excuses. What clutch ability are you referring to? Joe can be elite? Its his 5th year, i mean give me break. We should wait maybe his 7th-9th year then somehow he'll be elite then right?

Well, what did u want him to say? That he is second best? If u don't have that mentality, you cannot make it in the nfl. Every QB, even Boller thinks that

I look at it this way. We don't see the best from quarterbacks until around 30 and beyond (Brees, for example). In a couple years, I think Flacco CAN definitely be elite. He is not there yet. I just hope he isn't run out of town by some of these "fans" before we get to see it and even pay the consequences when he's with someone else. A lot of teams would give their left nut for a guy like Flacco.

If you swap Joe with the QBs on these teams
49ers
Vikings
Lions
Eagles
Texans
Chargers
Jets
Cowboys
And even Buffalo
These teams would either propel into being playoff contenders, or be SB favorites.....

LOl its called being humble and smart. Find me a clip of Peyton Manning saying hes Elite or any others like brees or A-rod. Eli said he was Elite after already winning a superbowl, and then he went out on the field and backed it up with another super bowl. Once you proclaim to be the best or one of the best you put a bullseye on your back. It would have been better off for him to go to the humble route, ESPECIALLY when hes really not elite.

i'm proud that Flacco didn't do anything stupid against the #1 defense. Thanks to his poise, the Steelers' D couldn't bail Leftwich out. A great QB can dodge sacks and knows when to throw the ball away.

Do you think Aaron Rodgers would be as good with cam was calling his plays? Or do you think he would excel every time while playing the #1 D in their house?

No, I wouldn't complain because we would be 8 and 2, leading the AFC North, just beat the NFL's #1 D in their house and started a tough stretch of games with a win. And our QB didn't turn the ball over.

i can't believe out of a win, some of you guys complain about Flacco against the Steelers defense.

Lemme spell it out for you.

THE STEELERS' PASS DEFENSE IS STATISTICALLY NUMBER ONE IN THE NFL

Not only that, Cam could NOT adjust to the defensive plays and decided to go conservative with the lead.

Not to mention shotgun on third and 2 goes without saying to be a bad call all around.

I bet you that if the Steelers was in the lead up by four, Flacco, without restrictions since they're in the lead, would've had the same performance from last year. A clutch drive downfield for a touchdown.

If the season rests in Joes hand we will lose. Hes proven to choke when the team needs him most. The Ravens have always been a team that finds a way to win. Joe is just not good enough right now to carry anything and Cam is always there to make sure he won't either.
Joe choke when the team needs him most? Did he not orchestrate a brilliant and pin point accurate drive to beat Pitt with Big Ben @ heinz last year? Or how about the perfect ball for Lee Evans that would've put us in the SB. Joe put the ball where it needed to be with the game on the line, in my eyes he got us to the SB last year. He outplayed Brady in Foxboro in the AFCC. He may not be consistent but if anything he's clutch. He didn't turn the ball over at all tonight and in a defensive battle the team that wins the turnover margin usually wins the game. Flacco knows he could've played better but at the end of the day we got the W. .

Its sad because everyone knows when Joe is clutch, because it doesn't happen often. The ravens have went to the playoffs 4 years straight and 4 years in a row they went home. Plain and simple he doesn't get it done and Cam has some to do with it. He outplayed Tom brady because brady was going against our 3rd ranked defense, while the patriots defense was among the worst if not the worst defense last season. Even Mark Sanchez throws for over 300 yards against them..

This isn't Fantasy Football guy, I don't care how many yards Mark Sanchez or any QB for that matter throws for. Stuff like passing yards is dependent on the offensive system/flow of the game and the Jets don't have a running game like we do so you can't even compare the two offenses. Plus your counting Joe going to the AFCC game as a rookie against him? lol That's 100x more then we could have ever asked for when he stepped in as our starter as a rookie with a rookie HC.

You play to win the game. period. Earlier this year the offense has picked up the slack when the D wasn't playing well. Tonight it was the other way around, that's football. How are you gonna ignore the fact that Joe put the SB ball right on the money and Lee Evans just didn't secure the ball. Joe didn't miss that FG and miss out on a chance in OT or drop a perfectly catchable TD. It's a team game, you lose as a team and win as a team. Just because our team has lost in the playoffs doesn't mean Joe Flacco isn't a SB caliber QB.

If you don't believe in Joe or the team feel free to hop off the bandwagon. I'm gonna stand by my team and my QB because I know what we're capable of as a team. Once the playoffs start all bets are off, who's playing the best football in january.. could be anyone at this point. Why not us?

.1 About Mark sanchez and their offense, they are not very good. My point is if they are able to throw for 300 yards on the patriots defense and every other team it waters down that accomplishment for Joe.

.2 am counting his rookie playoff lost against him? Yep I am, although I don't expect a super bowl in his rookie season doesn't mean he isn't wasting a opportunity. Big Ben won a super bowl in his rookie year..

.3 I give Joe credit for playing well all the time, but I am also not blind to his short comings. The fact that we played in New england in the playoffs had a lot to with Joe stinking it up in Jacksonville. If we won that game, New England would have had to come down to Bmore. Different ball game if they had to travel here.

.4 As far as being a bandwagon fan, I've been a ravens fan since I was 10 years old. I know a lot about the team and they will always be my team no matter what.

While I do not think the offense had a good game by any means, to include Joe, your argument just gave Joe a reason for not playing well. Brady went against the 3rd ranked Defense, Joe just went against the number one ranked defense.

Also, this is the NFL. Every team is great and home field matters. Houston, one of the best teams in the league just allowed the Jaguars to put up 37 points and made Chad Henne look All Pro, while Matt Ryan, one of the best QBs statistically this year just threw 5 picks.
