I'm pretty sure they had Rice attempt a 3rd and 1 or 3rd and 2 and he didn't get anywhere. The run game, at least with Rice, is simply not working. I don't blame him for picking a pass play, and I don't blame Flacco for not throwing (and stopping the clock).
