I thought about it myself but just wound up watching the other endings on YouTube. In my opinion based o mm that, its not worth the time. It seems kind of silly to introduce a three character and then give the player the option to destroy that. I guess they figured some players may not like Michael or Trevor for various reasons but in all honesty for me (and don't get me wrong because I really like all 3 characters) Franklin was sort of the most "boring" character to me, at times he felt like Carl Johnson 2.0.

What made Michael and Trevor really interesting to me was the fact that fans of the series haven't really gotten to play as characters quite like them before. MIichael is the first protagonist with a real family which makes him quite the unique character with his relationships and Trevor is just the most unhinged character in GTA history. There have been plenty of psycho/sociopaths throughout the series but Trevor clearly has strong feelings and relationships with certain people, which makes him just this unique nutjob. Nothing against Franklin. Plus if you choose one of the other endi gs you miss out on the cool banter between the three when they hang out and a possible trophy/achievement.

I was able to play quite a bit last night with my friends with zero problems in a "crew session," there was a new patch up as of yesterday for PS3 that seems to have fixed pretty much everything with online. I noticed some slight lag when I joined a public session but no real problems there either.

As far as the actual online gameplay, a lot of fun if you have some friends/crew members to play with. Most of the random people online seem content to go around killing eachother instead of working together on jobs to rank up and get better equipment/more money. Anyone interested in "civilized" online play on PS3, hit me up. My network ID is in my signature.

Yup, I was driving my sweet, supped up Rapid GT in Blaine County yesterday in the rain and lost control and hit a guardrail, got stuck between it and some rocks. Next thing I know, a rank 18 guy pulls up behind me and blasts me in my car. I do not grief/troll people on there at all but if you start something you better be able to handle what's coming back. I'm rank 42 right now which means I have assault rifles, sniper rifles, explosives, and Merryweather mercenary services at my disposal. Called in a team of merc to wipe the punk out the first time, then proceeded to snipe him multiple times as soon as he respawned. Then one of my buddies joined my session, asked if I was just killing this guy over and over and told him how this dude started it. At this point the guy had bitten off more than he could chew and was trying to escape in a minivan...until my friend threw a sticky bomb onto it, haha. Seriously way to many people like that online. If you wanna do that crap, go play a deathmatch.

I'll add you a little later today when I can get back on.

EDIT: Also noticed a lot of punks like to wait around the Customs garages and wait for people to come mod their cars to try and kill them. Seriously? You've got nothing better to do? Give me a break.

Ya I'm only like Rank 12 or something since I haven't had much time to play but some guy kept running me down in a modded up SUV... I think I got run down 8-10 times before I finally killed him and then kept running him down with one of the big delivery trucks.

I got it with Franklin's default Buffalo. I had some trouble getting it too but his seems to have all the available mods. And this is silly because its the one thing I was missing when i had fully modded it but you have to buy the colored tire smoke as well.

I got it with the SUV that looks like an Escalade.  If I remember right, one of the categories has multiple modifications per tab.  I think you need custom rims, custom tires, and custom tire smoke.

No problem man, I would have never bought it normally which is why it took me a bit to figure it out myself. At least its not as expensive in single player as it is on Online. That stuff is like 20k+ on there, no thanks haha.

Logged some quality hours on GTA Online and I have to say I'm greatly disappointed.  My understanding was there'd be some continuation or creation of a story, and there's practically none of that.  Just one heist mission like in the single player would make it all better, but I've yet to encounter anything like that.  It seems like there are a lot of things missing in the game.

 

The most frustrating thing, however, is the fact that you can't make any car you steal your personal vehicle.  That kinda goes against GTA.

I haven't had time to finish the story yet, but the endings had already been spoiled for me -- and, I have to say, even as predictable as the story is, I'm still a huge fan of this game's story and would put it up against other action-adventure or sandbox titles.

 

Sometimes, less is more, and I like that there's enough character development with all three guys without bogging the story down. There are no complex twists and turns, and there really didn't need to be. This game is just about bringing fun back to the series that was lost a little with GTA IV's super-serious tone.

I've personally had a lot of fun with it (evidenced by my rank 68) BUT it has gotten to the point where it is starting to stagnate. My job contacts hardly send me any new jobs at this point and I've done all of the survivals, store robbings, races, etc that I've been interested in doing. I have a premium apartment (with a still unused heist room as you mentioned) with a 10 car garage filled with awesome cars (just bought the $875k Stinger GT which is only available in Online for some reason and looks like a 60s Ferrari, pretty awesome) so I don't have any real reason to continue grinding apart from weapon unlocks, which I don't really need as my arsenal is pretty complete at the moment. I'm not one of the people who are complaining about only having 10 cars at once since you can only own one property (I completely understand that. Consider how many millions of people are playing, that is a lot of specifics for the cloud servers to keep up with as far as character unlocks, skills, vehicle mods, etc so I understand only being able to own one property) but I do agree there should have been more variety in the apartments and owning a "garage only property" is a complete waste, they could have replaced all of them with different styles of apartments. Rockstar has mentioned adding more properties in future updates but seeing as how they just yesterday gave everyone the stimulus money they had been promising since mid-October, I'm not sure I would count on it soon. I'll probably see if I can't find all of the confession scraps and alien ship parts in single player while I'm waiting for the heists and such for Online...

 

EDIT: While I did enjoy GTA V's story (sure it was complete cliche at times, but are there really any stories today in any medium that you can't pick on for being cliche in ways?) I completely agree, Red Dead Redemption is still Rockstar's shining jewel for storytelling but i have to give Team Bondi and their writers a ton of credit for making LA Noire an awesome Rockstar story too.

I heard the addition of heists is going to be delayed further because of the enormous amount of bugs present in the game.  I've encountered quite a few, like the areas going empty because the server can't keep up, cars glitching into the other lanes and not following their pathing, and massive amounts of lag, especially at the start of races.  I wonder if they didn't do enough testing or if this was just way bigger than they predicted it was going to be.

 

That stimulus money was nice, helped me get the money for the Entity.  The only thing that keeps me wanting to level is the fear that when they do finally implement the heists that only high levels will be able to do them.

LOL what. Not trying to make this a big E3 thing, but the only part that was good of the whole sony conference was the last 10 minutes. 

 

I wouldn't say any company really "won" or one crushed the other, both Sony and Microsoft had a good amount of good looking games.

Boy. I'm not going to call the guy who made the statement a Sony fanboy but I honestly don't see how anyone can say Sony's E3 crushed Microsoft's. Microsoft showed game after game at their conference and has by far the more appealing lineup for this year, IMO. 

 

I'm glad they're releasing GTA V for the new gen. Didn't finish it when I had it for the PS3 so at least I'll get to with an improved PS4 version.

I thought they both sucked honestly.  Sunset Overdrive doesn't look like my cup of tea, I already have all the Halo games and getting a remastered version of the worst game in the main story arc (single player wise) and a beta invite isn't enough to warrant the price tag.  They didn't really show anything else that was exclusive except for the new Forza Horizon, but racing games are a dime a dozen anyway.  I'll eventually get an Xbox One for Halo 5, but there's nothing compelling me to get one now.  At least one admittance that they messed up would have been beneficial.

 

Sony on the other hand overestimates the prestige of their first party developers, and the smug attitude displayed by the company and their fanboys is really off putting.  MGS has a certain fanbase, but I don't think it has a mass appeal.  None of their exclusives were that appealing outside of Uncharted 4.  A good chunk of theirs was the same press conference people complained about with Microsoft last year, in essence, with the TV stuff.  And I just don't see how it's possible for their VR to work the way they're advertising that it does.  There's simply not enough power on the machine to do it, VR is incredibly resource intensive.

 

Nintendo isn't even worth talking about.  They threw out their same 3 games, but that's all they really need to do to appease their nostalgic fanboys.

 

That's not to say there aren't any intriguing games coming out, there are.  The Witcher 3 looks like it will be the first must have title for me.  I was pleasantly surprised with the story and gameplay in The Witcher 2, and while I have The Witcher I'm trying to hold out playing it until I build my proper PC.  If that game is as massive as advertised, that definitely looks like a winner.  The new Dragon Age is interesting, albeit I'm hesitant to get excited for anything coming from EAWare after ME3 and DA2.  While I question the choice of Scarecrow as the main villain, the new Batman game looks impressive.  There's just nothing exclusive that makes me think I need to buy one over the other.  The graphics difference is negligible, especially since I vastly prefer the offset sticks and handfeel of the Xbox controller.  That will still probably be the one I buy.  I'm just not that excited about it.

I don't think anyone killed it at e3. There were very little big announcements in terms of new IPs by either Sony or MS. I see people all over the internet raving about the MS conference but quite frankly I was pretty underwhelmed. It wasn't bad by any means but jaw dropping? hell freaking no!  Hell, nothing MS or Sony showed was on the level of the new Zelda teased at Nintendo's streamed conference.  MS showed way too many pre-rendered trailers and Sony spent way too much time talking about stuff unrelated to gaming. I actually thought Sony had better game demo's but should have kept the pace they had from the beginning to the end. On Topic: I'm glad I waited out for this game knowing it was going to be released on next gen.
