I got a worse glitch today than the garage glitch when my plane got deleted from my hanger.  That sucked having to go steal another fighter jet from Fort Zancudo.

I think all I have left to do for 100% is collect spaceship parts and letter fragments, so I'm really anticipating GTA Online so I can stop with the boring stuff.

Possibly the best game I've ever played.

I left off at the part where Trevor has to go find Micheal. Anyone know when the next heist mission is at that point ? Can't wait to do another

The heist was so much fun. It took me awhile to figure out what "smart clothes" to wear, but I looked it up and it's micheals original suit with no blood stains to it. I chose the smart option for the heist.

Now I got Trevor's crazy self. I couldn't land the plane, that's the only mission I skipped.

If you haven't yet, I'd recommend the flight training.  It's on the southern part of the map, the icon is a jet.  It helped me quite a bit.

I could never, in any series drive the planes or helicopters. I always end up crashing, it's the one thing I consistently struggle with. I'm gonna give that a try though, thanks

I hear ya dude.  I struggle with this too.  Part of the flight training is a helicopter.  I'm surprised I didn't have a controller flying across my room.   LOL

The Helicopters are awful, the planes actually handle quite well when you get the hang of it.

Those are the only two that aren't gold medals for me.  I got them both to silver, but there's that stupid bridge you have to fly through on the one and the other one seems like it has a lot of altitude changes.

The only video game I had success driving a plane in was battlefield 1942 (I think it was called). That was the funnest.

It took me a LOT of practice, but I got pretty good with those too.

Battlefield 1942 was PC only.  If you played it on a console, it was Battlefield 1943.

Glad to hear it's not just me!   LOL

There must be a fine line of how to hold the right trigger, while pointing the nose down, and keep it flying on a straight path.  I've yet to discover this fine line....

Yeah then that must've been it. That game was really fun there for awhile. I wish GTA's plane controls were like theirs. That's pretty much the only thing I dislike about the game.

Is it just me or does the water in this look 100% real? The graphics are incredible.

I'm right there with you man.  I can't even get them to fly straight.  I appreciate the addition of turbulence, but those stupid choppers swing back and forth and ridiculous amount.  The controls are really floaty and finicky and I don't like using them.

Planes are a lot of fun though, I highly recommend stealing one of the fighter jets.  My next challenge is figuring out how to steal one of the C-130s from the Fort.  The fighters have some maneuverability at least, so with a little luck you can dodge the missiles from the jets that fly in to escape in one piece.  The C-130s on the other hand aren't parked in a location conducive to taking off, from what I've seen, and aren't particularly agile.  I haven't even got one off the ground yet.  The fighters you can get off the ground since they get up to take-off velocity very quickly even though they're in a bad spot.

No doubt, graphics are so much better than GTA 4.

Guess it has been quite a few years though....

Haven't tried any of the jets yet.  They do look like a blast to fly (from what I've seen from the trailers).

I wonder if the C130s will be in multiplayer?  Sounds like it will take some help to get one of those off the ground.

I might try stealing a tank and just blowing everything up.

That sounds like fun.

I haven't even been to the base yet.  I've flown over it, but haven't tried entering it yet.

Right before whenever I get off and everything's saved, I go on a rampage. I haven't gotten 5 stars yet and Idk how. I go around in a circle pouring gasoline everywhere then I cap a few suckas, shoot the gas when the 5.0 show, and start launching grenades at everyone. It gets intense haha

Got my P-996 Lazer (the F-16/F-18 hybrid style jet fighter) for Trevor last night. I did it on the first try so here's a tip: get Trevor's helicopter, fly really high above Fort Zancudo and angle your chopper to where you can bail out and easily parachute into the front of the open hangar where it is kept (the hangar closest to the ocean). I was able to take off with only a few small arms bullets hitting my jet, from there it was just a matter of breaking the sound barrier for a few minutes to evade my pursuers and voila. Very cool plane, I only wish the Harrier-type jet from San Andreas was available too, love that vertical takeoff.

Do you not get the automatic 4 star wanted level at max altitude? When I tried an aerial entry I was getting hit at by the jets that get called in before I even made it off the ground. I went in through the gate to delay the aerial response.

The jet is awesome though. It might not have VTOL capabilities, but you don't need a lot of runway to get it off the ground. It probably takes off the fastest out of all the planes in addition to being the fastest in the air.

By the way, I didn't think you could because you can only do it on certain ones (like the ones that land while you're in the airport), but you can fly the jumbo jets. They're rather difficult to maneuver though.

I approached the base from the south and hovered high at the southern perimeter of the base. With enough altitude, you should have no problem parachuting into the front of the hangar without really entering the base's airspace. I didn't even get a wanted level until I was about 30 feet from the ground with my parachute. And as you said, the fighter's engine is so powerful, I didn't even need to turn and take the full runway to take off. I just hit the afterburner and went straight south out of the hangar no problem. I was actually pretty surprised at how smoothly I was able to get it. The first time going to the base I just went through the front gate and there were 3 tanks waiting for me at the actual entrance to the base...BOOM! hahaha

Apparently the GTA Online launch has been a major fail on Rockstar's part, and I can say that aligns with my own experience.  It won't let me on for it.

Yeah, I havent been able to progress past the introduction yet. I anticipated some problems and they even released a statement before it went online that it may take a few days. I'm a patient person but it is getting a little ridiculous at this point.

Two days in and it's unplayable.  This is worst than the release of Sim City and Diablo 3.  At least this is more of a bonus to the single player game than the game I paid for.

That's really the only thing that is keeping me cool is the fact that Online is basically a bonus game for everyone who bought GTA V. I've still got some miscellaneous stuff to do in my single player game so its ok. Just doesn't seem wise to me to launch the online simultaneously worldwide when they sold as many copies of the game as they did, it was inevitable their servers would crash.

Absolutely.  Not too surprising all the problems they're having, is it?

I'm certainly not surprised.  They said something like 16 million people are trying to access the game right now.  While I'm disappointed Rockstar wasn't prepared because they are the most consistent company in the business today, it's not unforgivable.

I was able to play quite a bit last night with my friends with zero problems in a "crew session," there was a new patch up as of yesterday for PS3 that seems to have fixed pretty much everything with online. I noticed some slight lag when I joined a public session but no real problems there either.

As far as the actual online gameplay, a lot of fun if you have some friends/crew members to play with. Most of the random people online seem content to go around killing eachother instead of working together on jobs to rank up and get better equipment/more money. Anyone interested in "civilized" online play on PS3, hit me up. My network ID is in my signature.
