That is a good point about being somewhat in control, setting up and doing heists is really fun. I don't want to come off negative on the game though, there's a lot of content as usual in a Rockstar game and I don't regret paying full price for it.

Yea I have my disappointments as well with the game, but the good outweighs the bad for me so far by a ton. Although I am not very far in yet. The driving and car damage along with the lack of enter able buildings are things that surprised me.

LOL

The game isn't for everyone!

I have coworker that told me he doesn't like the GTA games.  I did tell him he's crazy.    :D

I quickly discovered that I can't play very well when drunk.   I came in last in a street race last night.     :th_shame:

It's gonna take me about a year to finish this game with as much as I drink.    :P

Yeah I hoped we'd be able to go in more buildings. Being able to rob everyone in the Vinewood hills would be awesome. That kind of thing has been sorta done in Elder Scrolls, maybe it's something for next gen. Or maybe I'm expecting too much from the new consoles.

I'm trying to find the nice car dealership. There's always one, but I haven't seen that our the Lambo yet, and I really want that one or the Enzo. Those high end cars are really awesome. The difference between them and even a really nice R8 that I have in the garage is noticeable.

Yea I think so too, it doesn't seem to hard to just copy a few models into most of the buildings. However, I tend to forget how massive and smooth the game is to be running on almost a decade old hardware. If they do release this on next gen it would be cool if they could add to the features and I would assume they could do more with the population and what not. Plus online will probably hold more people... something I also forget that is coming very soon.

Also that heist planning has SO much replay value...

I need to go back and do the one Mission Impossible style, since I played it safe the first time.

Beat the game, not sure I chose the right ending.

I lost interest in GTA since San Andreas. When 4 came out I was a bit hyped, but just did not like it. When 5 was announced, I did not think too much of it. I figured I would give it a shot, but was not overly hyped. Then when the trailers started coming out, I just could not help myself. I started getting pretty damn hyped, and even preordered which I never have done before.

I would have liked a little more of a medium from 4 and what we have in 5. I thought 4 got ridiculous at times, even high end sports cars could not handle at high speeds and felt like I was driving my truck. However, in 5 you can't even do a proper burnout!

Just bought it. Kinda mad I had to delete a lot of stuff for storage but whateva!

This is the first time I've ever seen an install disc on a console game.

I had to delete a bunch of stuff too.

Oh well, it's worth it.

Plus I found out my xbox is almost 9 years old lol. Something I uninstalled was from 2005. It's so loud and slow, I really need a new one. Don't know if I'm missing out in graphics because of it or whatever.

There's no difference in the hardware so the graphics are the same, they just improved the cooling system and maybe the power efficiency.  And they added an HDMI out to all of them, if I remember correctly.  If they take a nose dive in price after the One is released I might be getting a new one because my launch day box sounds like a jet engine.  And it overheats a lot.

This is exactly why I replaced my old 360 this past year. The thing runs like a Jet engine except without the speed. I also had problems with the disc drive beginning to no longer read discs and I was running out of memory. Graphically there should be no difference.

Luckily I haven't had any issues, other than the overheating, since the RROD all those years ago.  I might actually crack it open and clean it, I'm assuming the warranty is long void at this point.  I'm guessing it's just dust buildup causing the problems, just like it would on a poorly ventilated computer.

I'm trying to do all the side stuff and trying to get 100% completion while I'm waiting for GTA Online to go live.  Not sure I even can with my ending choice.

Yeah, I had something similar except the dust built up in my Power brick at one point.

If I get a new one can everything from my account get transferred?

Yeah, you have to buy a Transfer cable. Its about a 30 min process.

Luckily I have mine left over from when I upgraded my hard drive the last time.  It's amazing how 20 gb seemed like a good amount back when the 360 was launched.

I'm an advocate for Option C.  You'll see it when you get there, I changed my ending and the mission was WAY better and it was more in line with what I thought the characters would do.

The heist was so much fun. It took me awhile to figure out what "smart clothes" to wear, but I looked it up and it's micheals original suit with no blood stains to it. I chose the smart option for the heist.

Now I got Trevor's crazy self. I couldn't land the plane, that's the only mission I skipped.

So after playing for a week and being a handful of missions away from the ending, all I can say is WOW. Every aspect of this game is amazing. Graphics are great with zero visual lag, core gameplay has been improved in every aspect. I never had a problem with the "heavy" feeling you got with driving in IV as I felt it lent itself to the realism but the driving here is so much more smooth and fluid while not feeling cartoon-like. The soundscape, original music, and radio stations are top notch as usual and the three character dynamic and their interactions make it so much better. I also love the touch of adding some Liberty City characters from IV and its two DLCs as they have moved on to the present (IV took place in '08 the year it was released as V takes place in '13) and the west coast from 5 years ago: Packie as an unlockable heist crew member, the survivors of The Lost MC, the United Liberty Paper government contact and Karen/Michelle, Rocco from Ballad of Gay Tony, Brucie on the radio as the official spokesman for bullshark testosterone, a passing mention of Niko by Lester. Makes the whole gta universe a little more lifelike in its continuity.

My only complaint so far has been the garage glitch at Michael and Franklin's safehouses where those garages seen to swallow cars without regard early in the game, although I've not been having that problem the last couple of days after progressing through the story and Trevor's safehouse garage doesnt seem to have the same glitch oddly enough. Looking on other message boards I wasn't the only one having that problem. Apart from that minor glitch, WOW at this game. I'll be playing the rest of the year and beyond between replayability of single player missions and GTA Online.

You can go to the internet on your characters' phones and click on the "travel" header on the eyefind home page. It will give you links to two car dealerships, an aircraft dealership, and a boat dealership where you can buy vehicles that will be automatically placed in your 4 car garage/hangar/dock slip.

I figured that out long ago.  Physical dealerships are what I was looking for.  It was always nice being able to steal a Turismo in GTA IV if you needed a good car.

I'm very displeased with the lack of garages in this game.  I can't store all the cars I want to store between my three characters, and my safehouse garages glitch all the time.

I gotcha man, I didn't realize you were looking for an actual dealership. Come to think of it I've only seen maybe one other that I can recall apart from Simeon's dealership that is no longer accessible after the first few missions. While I completely understand and at first I was kind of thinking the same: "wow, so basically each character can store 5 cars and that's it" but I kind of quickly got over it due to the plethora of other stuff in the game to immerse myself in, but I guess that may just be me. Also, from what I've seen/read, GTA Online should more than make up for limited car storage in single player. I remember in the Online trailer they released a few weeks ago that they showed a player in a garage with 10+ vehicles and I'm fairly sure you can purchase more than one such garage.

I was having the safehouse garage glitch at Michael's and Franklin's and I just sort of stopped using them after the first 6 or 7 missions because I was getting irked about it too. But I started using them again and now with 8 story missions left I haven't had any problems with cars disappearing for at least the last twenty missions or so. Its a weird glitch as it doesn't seem to be happening after a certain point in the game and I've never had a car disappear from Trevor's safehouse garage so I have no idea what the deal is with that. Rockstar supposedly is already looking into it as you and I are not the only ones who ran into it by any stretch of the imagination. But seriously, this one glitch is the ONLY problem I have with the game. I cant get enough of it, haha. Getting ready to play some now as I type this.

I think you can fit in two cars in the garage, but mine just got deleted AGAIN and I've already completed the final story mission.  I actually fit 3 in Franklin's safehouse, the Tesla Roadster is just small enough to squeeze in behind the Infernus or the GTO.  That car is really weird, it has no engine sound so you know that's a blatant rip off.  Then again a lot of the cars are, I'm amazed they don't have copyright issues on some of these.

Yup, that's how a Dodge Charger becomes a Bravado Buffalo, an Audi A4 becomes an Obey Tailgater. The secret of their ability to get away with it. Plus a lot of the cars seems to take design inspirations from multiple cars, especially a lot of the sports cars. I've yet to find the Tesla car, supposedly there are two different electric cars in the game I've heard. Also just completed the story myself, dunno how anyone goes with anything other than option C, haha.
