Isn't Microsoft a bunch of sneaky bas......folks?

I finally get around to pre-ordering it, and they have a great deal going on.

Pre-order and receive 1600 points (they did mention points are going away).

After finalizing the order, they casually mention the points are only good at the Microsoft store.  jeez.....

 

Oh well, release date, free delivery!!!!

Damn that sucks.  O well, release date delivery + free ship is great.  This is going to be one those those games that only comes around once in a console generation, like San Andreas.

That was unquestionably the best GTA game.  The world was incredibly well developed, from the major cities to the rural areas.  I thought it had a good story (Samuel L. Jackson!) and there was so much to do even after the missions were done.  I was disappointed with how much they got rid of for GTA IV, although that was a great game too.  My favorite Rockstar title from this generation is Red Dead Redemption, and GTA V would have to do something pretty incredible to pass it by.  I bet the gameplay and sandbox is better in the New Game, but that sweeping epic western story was a callback to a bygone era and I absolutely loved it.

 

They're bringing the Harrier back, right?  That thing was the best.

Tread lightly my friends, People now have the game and are posting gameplay on youtube and Vine. Rockstar will be removing them all.  I took a look at one short one of someone just driving around and it was mind blowing, but thats all im going to look at .

 

 

Also NeoGaf is a garbage  forum. banned me for a mild spoiler i posted in their GTAV thread and I even used spoiler tags.

I played San Andreas on PC.  Somehow lost the game disc.  Serious bummer.....

Monday im tagging up with some buddies, checking out the new chinese buffet in town for dinner then joining the launch festivities at gamestop . Should be a good night

Yupp. Got it a few hours ago and been playing ever since.

 

Game is beyond amazing so far. No one should miss out on the this game.

Not as delayed as I thought. I don't like the third character so I'm not a big fan of that aspect. The controls are more refined and I appreciate the bigger world, but the world at least seems smaller than San Andreas and the story is not as good as IV's. Still a good game so far.

Good for you man, I got it tuesday. I should have just done it online then, if you got it the day before. Oh well, it is freaking awesome. Really, really well done game, and I have not even discovered half the map yet.

IMO The story is great and the city of Los Santos is probably bigger than the entire San Andreas map alone. I don't know if you are just going off memory from playing it years ago, but it is nowhere near the size of this new map. Personally I hated GTA 4, the characters were boring, the city was dull and repetitive. Much improved in V if you ask me.

Not to mention finally you have a GTA where you are not just someones errand boy telling you Go here, shoot ____, lose heat, beat mission. Rinse and repeat.

That is a good point about being somewhat in control, setting up and doing heists is really fun. I don't want to come off negative on the game though, there's a lot of content as usual in a Rockstar game and I don't regret paying full price for it.
