I have absolutely no intention of getting the new xbox at the release date. It's usually a good idea to wait until the bugs are worked out.

That being said, I will be seriously "cheesed off" it this is their plan.

They're now saying September for the release. Aren't the new systems being released closer to the holidays?

Maybe they're working on a version to work with the new system, while still releasing the game for the current systems.

The Amazon pre-order gives access to a blimp.  Anyone know if there are different bonuses from other retailers?

Man, as if I wasn't already too impatient for this to come out. The new gameplay trailer is sick. I had read about a lot of these gameplay mechanics (instant character switching, etc) but to get an actual glimpse of them working is awesome, can't wait.

I love GTA but have never actually beaten any of them. My playthroughs always result in me just driving around, blowing stuff up, and seeing how long I can avoid the cops.

Not entirely true. You dont have to beat it but you need to do enough of the story to unlock all the areas of the map to wreak havoc there as well, haha. Its always been the GTA way! *on in-game radio* "the hokey storyline reason we came up with to confine you has passed so you may now cross SOME bridges to othe r areas."

Lol I know man, I was too. I've played the crap out of every GTA from GTA 2 onwards except for Vice City Stories and Liberty City Stories and I was just poking fun at how almost all of them follow that area unlock mechanic in similar ways.

Anyway the game was Rated by the ESRB on tuesday.  It is now officially the "worst" rated GTA game in history.

 

Rated M with 7 descriptions.  They added Blood & Gore (usually just blood)  and now its Nudity instead of just partial.
