For the past 3 seasons( since that nerve impingement) Ed reed has not been able to wrap up.however he has been pretty good in coverage(excluding today). He should be played in an exclusive coverage role(minimal contact). And Hjullmann Defense wins championships.
[/quote]That's what he plays now. He plays free safety in a coverage role with the occasional blitz while Pollard lays the wood on people. Whether Ed is 50% 70% or 100%, QBs do not throw to his side of the field. Hurt or not he should be on the field if he can go.

Ed is lethal against the pass but horrible against the run or tackling. Although rarely any QB wants to throw on his way, Ed needs to tackle the baller anyways; there is no other way around. If you are hurt and can't tackle, you need to sit cuz 4yd pass can turn into the 30yd run which equals to completed deep pass or TDs.

I agree we need to sit future HOF and give him a rest cuz his injury can hurt him and the team as well.....

PS: Ed needs to be honest about his injury cuz if he said he is ok, he goes out and couldn't tackle a break; that's bad for the team....Harbs as well......

I agree. But in terms of FS position, probably not.

Idelhigo cant do half of what Ed Reed can do in terms of covering the field.

The next depth is Sean Considine...sean just sucks.
