Kruger's best game of his career

Our DLine is young and inexperienced. No wonder they get better with every game. Have we really expected them to be good instantly? We lost too many experienced players in FA for that. We will be fine, when the playoffs come along.

Kruger may not have lived up to our lofty expectations so far in his career, but I would hate to see what our defense the last two years would have been without him.

I would give him a pass on his lack of athleticism based on his hustle and hand usage, but his lack of balance and strength at the point don't seem to fit our identity of being a physical, hard nosed defense. If he was a double digit sack artist I would be all for re-signing him, but he isn't.

I do think he is becoming better as the season progresses. It helps to have Suggs back of course, which immediately rejuvenated the whole defense. Incredible, what one playmaker can do for a whole unit.
[/quote]Suggs helps just to be on the field they were putting 3 players on him at times in that Pitt game. I hope Krug can keep it up that will force teams to stop doubling Sizzle as much.

I dont think Kruger can be a consistent 3 down player, but with the emergence of Upshaw we dont need him to be that. He can be a pass-rush specialist with the ability to play early downs if need be. I really like what he brings to the table and hope we can keep him in Baltimore for a while longer.

Paul Kruger has double digit sack potential and the Ravens have been looking for that guy to pair with Suggs for a long time. I don't see them just letting him walk now that they've developed that guy.

Remember, Ozzie always talks about never having enough pass rush and Corners. Unless Kruger walks for more money, I don't see him leaving.

I really hope we can keep Kruger. I'd prefer keeping him over Williams, honestly. If we can get him for 5 million then we should keep him. I think it will be easier if Flacco gets his deal but it looks like that won't get done until the season is over. If we don't have to tag Flacco that could save us millions. I will say this: the chances of keeping Kruger goes up if we extend Flacco before free agency.

I want to keep Ed Reed, though. I really hope we can keep him. What do you think? I think there is a good chance we can keep him. But I don't know what kind of money he wants. Hopefully we win the Super Bowl and Lewis & Reed can retire on top this year and save us millions.

I think we're on the same page Grim. I would love to keep Ed, because even though he's losing a step, I think that his value is much bigger then his talent much like Ray Lewis. I feel that it can't be understated, the impact that Ed Reed has on this young secondary, that seems to get younger each week.

Deion made the comment that Reed and Pollard were the best Safety tandem in the NFL and I agree. So i would love to keep Reed, and honestly don't see him walking, unless he retires.

I know a lot of people are sour on Cary, but I like the guy. He's a fighter and he's extremely talented imo. I think the injury really slowed Cary's progress early this year, but he's coming along really well now and seemingly hitting his stride. I think Webb's injuries make Cary even more valuable. Even though it's not he same knee, two ACL injuries will be tough to come back from and be the great Webb we all love. Hope he does though.

So when it comes down to Cary and Paul, it's a tough call for me. I tend to lean towards Kruger just like you, simply because a strong pass rush can take a defense from being good, to great. You give me a healthy Suggs and Ngata from day one, and their is no doubt that Kruger has at least 8 sacks right now. Also, as much as i like Upshaw, I don't see anyone with Kruger's pass rush potential behind him, so losing Kruger would be basically starting over in the area of looking for that bookend OLB.

Hopefully we can extend both Kruger and Cary, but i'd rather have Kruger as a priority. Sign him to a 3-4 year deal for about 5.5 million like you said. I look at a guy like Quincy Black from TB. He was signed to a 5 year 29 mIllion last year. That should be fair for Kruger. Unless he just has a crazy playoff and Super Bowl performance. Then the Ravens are in trouble haha

I know he's been around a few years but I still think it is premature to say one way or the other with Kruger. He has certainly seemed to blossom somewhat over the past few games, whether that is due to development and getting consistent reps or just a lucky streak is really hard to judge at this point. Seems pretty clear to me the next 6 games the FO will have a pretty keen eye on the guy.

Why is Krugers jersey always up above that flap ? I use to think his jersey would come untucked during play but rewatching games I've noticed it's always like that. Is that his personal nfl fashion statement lol?
