Kruger's best game of his career

71 posts in this topic

6 tackles , 2 sacks and an interception . I didn't get a chance to see the game but saw the stat line , looks impressive . Disappointed to see Suggs only had 3 tackles and no sacks though

I will say I was extremely down on Kruger overall so to see him do well is a good day

I do think he is becoming better as the season progresses. It helps to have Suggs back of course, which immediately rejuvenated the whole defense. Incredible, what one playmaker can do for a whole unit.

The Int was a really nice play. He batted the ball and kept with it for the pick. One of his sacks was just Palmer tripping though and he was first to touch him down.

These stats must be wrong. Almost everyone on the board said he was terrible and a waste of a 2nd round pick.

I still have a man crush on Kruger. I'm really glad he played to his potential. Now I want more!

Was so nice to see him play today, he even looked like he was having fun.

I was there today and man he was just one step away from a 3rd sack. He knocked floored Palmer though

Kruger needs to show a hell of a lot more consistency if he wants to remain a Raven. More often than not his run defense is AWFUL and he gets thrown around by tight ends.

Yeah, it seems like a focus/intensity thing for him. Some games he is dominant like against KC, but then he comes back and plays like garbage the next week. I want to see that consistency too.

That was only once and kind of an unfair marker. Don't forget this is Kruger's first time as a starter in the NFL. By that time in the season he'd played six straight games and more snaps than ever before against a team that had just come off their bye.

Once? It's happened a lot more than once, for whatever reason he struggles to set the edge and hold his ground. For a 2nd round pick in his 4th year there are no excuses either you can do what is required or you can't, it takes more than a few splash plays in one game to show you belong here. But hey, who knows maybe he'll turn things around?

Not to take credits away from Kruger and other defensive players on the team, but Suggs on the field really elevates everybody's games. Suggs was double teamed most of the time....
I meant I think it happened once against a tight end. He's struggled at times but normally against a lineman. Don't think he gets handled by TEs all the time.

No question he has talent. Problem is he lacks consistency - some of that is probably on the coaching staff trying to make him play a position he just isn't built for, some of that may be like of playing time, but in any case some guys do take some time to break out. James Harrison took 4-5 years to really break out. Not trying to compare talent, just saying it is possible for a guy who struggles early on in his career to get things figured out later. Hopefully that's the case with Kruger, because we badly need impact pass rushers on this team.

Not knocking Paul but the o line deserves credit for one of those sacks. Palmer tripped over the guard or centers leg. Still a good game though.

Good game yes. It was against Oakland. Now if he does it against the steelers to then that really be saying something.

Kruger's been pretty good if I recall correctly against Pittsburgh. Then again, those were limited snaps since he wasn't a starter. I do remember him having that key interception against Ben.

It was Dennis Dixon. Was still a key pick though.

He took that long through practice, not actually getting major reps in the game. As soon as he started, he was a stud so I just want to throw that out there.

If Kruger can repeat getting a critical interception against the Steelers like he did in 2009 (but not in OT!) that would make me very happy this weekend.

I dont know if it is that Pees is finally getting to know the players on defense but Kruger looked the best he has all season and Upshaw looked very good as well. In any case Kruger looks like he is finally showing the talent that we thought he had when we drafted him.
