Great Game In Houston Now To New Jersey To Play The Defending Superbowl Champs!

45 posts in this topic

This game is crucial for the Ravens and our fans. To tell you the truth Im scared. I know only 1 thing is going to happen for sure.

Brandon Jacobs aint running anywhere.

The other thing is our defense gives up quite a lot of passing yards to teams. Regardless of who they are. Who we play next is very good at passing and can win games without really the need to run. If we manage to score first and get a lot fast the game could (COULD) be ours.

Im not gonna give a score but I do hope we win.

This game has Heap's name all over it. If we are going to win, it's because Heap has a big day taking advantage of the middle that the cover 2 leaves.

The Ravens are 6-3 and have absolutly dominated every opponant they have faced, except the Colts, this season physically. We are not going to catch the Giants napping. We are going to have to go out and find a way to win this game. We are not going to be able to count on them cutting us breaks.

One other thing. The Giants are extremally disciplined. They only had like 2 penalties against the Eagles yester day. We had 8 or 9, in a blow out. If we do not play smarter football and manage the clock better then we did yesterday, we dont have a shot in hell at winning this game.

Couldn't agree more. The game against the Texans there were a number of pass interference calls and illegal contact calls against the Texans and to tell the truth I didn't agree with some of them. Speaking as a true football fan not just a Ravens fan. The Texans basically gave us that game. Though we did run up the score in the second half but we can't afford to have a game handed to us by our opponent especially when we are going to face the defending champs next week. Like I said we have to find a way to win this game and if we do I think the media will give us the respect that we deserve.

I dont disagree. They gave us that game just like the Browns did the week before and just like we gave the game to Pitt and Tenn.

So there is a trend in there. We seem to have the game given to us when we face a team with a losing record. Yet give away the game to teams with winning records. I doubt the Giants will be giving us this game. We are going to have to play our a*** off. I want to see a Ravens vs Patriots stand (except without the botched timeout calls & flag throwing).

Yes! WE NEED AN EARLY and at least 14 point lead in order to win this game, if it comes down to the nitty gritty and its a close game you can bet your asses the refs will give it to the giants.

This is a defining game for us, Im not asking for a win really.. just that we play up to the g-men standerds.. if we keep it close and take a late loss im fine with that, it shows more than likley we can beat the skins, dallas,THE EAGLES.. etc. before we all get too excited we have to realize that we can easily fall to a 6-10 season.. <_<

I second that. I don't care what Eli says, what espn says, or any of these so-called experts say. I can't stand hype. I believe OUR Ravens will man-handle the Giants. I see a solid offensive effort, and the defense will come up with timely plays. 23-10 Ravens once again show the world why we are worthy of RESPECT!

Well if I am not mistaken the Texans were ranked 4th on offense?? I am nervous about this game, I can see us having a tough time stopping the run! We are going to have to bring heavy pressure to the QB ! But I have no doubt we can beat them! GO RAVENS :)
[/quote
I'm not worried about us stopping the run as I am about our pass D. We have been very succesful in stopping the run this year - #1 run D. I'm also concerned that our O line will have trouble protecting Joe. We need to run, run and run. Joe needs to release the ball quickly to avoid being hit. If we continue to control the clock, protect the ball and our D holds up (which I expect it will) we have a great chance of winning this game. GO RAVENS

Im gonna add some stats, of my post in another thread---
5 of their wins have come from teams who rank at the bottom half in rush defense.
Pittsburgh and Washington rank at the top 10 in rush defense (Washington 6, Pittsburgh 2) with both of those games going to the wire. (vs Washington, 7-16, vs Pittsburgh 21-14, Giants scored 12 points in the 4th quarter alone b/c of pitt mistakes) soo...considering our rush defense, our pass rush, and our promising offense which definitely has a spark, we can win this game.

They played Pitt in Pittsburgh. And they came from behind and won that game. They play us at home. That is going to be a factor.

Well, they were losing until the horrific punt snap from James Harrison with 6:48 in the 4th quarter, which caused a safety and tied the game. Their punter, Jeff Reed, had to play through a strained hamstring part of the game (is this the game he got hurt?) which gave the Giants extra good field position, which eventually pinned the steelers down themselves with some of Feagle's punts. that really caused the steelers to lose. We have a better run D than the steelers for one, and a better punter as well. If field position goes our way this game, it could definitely be in the Ravens' hands.
