Really? Are there seriously members of The Flock giving Byron Leftwich credit?

Look, I may get some flack for this, but Ben Roethlisberger is the most under-appreciated QB in the league, hands down (and I say that knowing Joe Flacco is also highly under-appreciated). That said, I just don't see this year's Pittsburgh Steelers being much of an opponent WITHOUT Big Ben; I just don't. For a team that is really injured and is going through a transitional-phase as a franchise, Roethlisberger has been the reason why the Steelers have a record of 6-3. The guy plays hurt and is able to lead his team. This was apparent in the game against the New York Giants, just last Sunday.

However, what makes Leftwich "scary", I suppose? He was let go from the Jacksonville Jaguars during (what would be his) prime years and did a horrible job QBing a Michael Vick-less Atlanta Falcons team in '07 and a young Tampa Bay Bucs team in '09. Sure, those teams weren't good, but there is no way Leftwich all-of-a-sudden starts to become a leader and saves this season for this Pittsburgh squad.

Will the game still be a competitive, hard-fought battle? Absolutely!
But, will the Baltimore Ravens start to pull away during the second half? Yes...

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. Steelers chances of beating the Ravens or winning the division drop astronomically without Big Ben.

Everyone thinks so except Ravens fans. Even Browns and Bengals fans give Steelers organization respect. It's beyond me why you guys can't just appreciate the rivalry and not try to make it into some ridiculous trash the city, trash the organization, trash the fans...act like they get every call, act like their players are all dirty hate fest. It's actually kinda silly.

Wow man, I see an absolutely ridiculous amount of Steeler trolls across the internet everywhere one may look, but that doesn't mean all Steeler fans are that disrespectful and I understand this, unlike you who makes broad generalizations about a fanbase that while they dislike your team as rivals, they largely respect them. Ben Roethlisberger is one of my favorite non-Raven players simply for how he constantly impresses me behind what is a constant patchwork o-line. When I saw him get knocked out I immediately though, "wow, he may not be on the field next week" in a completely disappointed manner. I want both of our teams as healthy as possible for what are annually two of the best games every NFL season. What you are doing yourself is trolling in my opinion as you are deep within a Ravens website, so shape up in your mental processes or get lost.

what's silly is the fact that the steelers played the chiefs last night and instead of you (a steelers fan) going to the chiefs board to talk with their fans....you come to our Ravens boards. i never understood that! smh!

Chiefs got jobbed, but I expected nothing less from these terrible referees in a Steelers game... they better not try that garbage next Sunday night.
the Ravens CAN'T allow the refs to be a factor in that game!

Agreed. We need to impose our will and take it out of their hands.

Where have I trashed the city or organization? Before the hypersensitivity ensues, you need to understand that you may come across some not-so-glowing things about the Steelers on a Ravens forum. It happens, again get over it, I could go to any Pittsburgh forum and point out the same thing except 10x worse.

It's very simple to have a couple forums open. Plus, as I have mentioned to others...I moved from Pittsburgh to SC PA, I live and work among many Ravens fans, I come to Baltimore for business and pleasure, so I like to hang out here sometimes. I signed up for the forum after I went to a game to find out why dozens of fans screamed, "go back to Towson" at me.

Monday Night's game made me so mad. Kansas City should've won! The referees kept making bogus calls against the Chiefs, including a b.s. holding call on Brandon Albert that negated a 22-yd TD reception by Dwayne Bowe and a Gilbert Arenas pass interference penalty. Of course, they didn't help themselves with a 4th quarter Dwayne Bowe fumble and a Cassel INT to end the game in OT.

There were a bunch of questionable calls in the game last night no doubt. Some were bad and some could have gone the Chiefs way but they didnt and that's football. Bad calls happen and the good teams overcome it and still find ways to win and the bad teams like the Chiefs simply dont. The Steelers got hosed on a number of calls last week in the Giants game as well probably just as much as the Chiefs did last night and they overcame it and won. The bottom line is was it a pretty win by the Steelers absolutely not, but at the end of the day the Steelers still got the Win and still have a chance to be sitting in 1st place come midnight Sunday night with a win over the Ravens and considering where they were a month ago after that horrific loss to the Titans I will take those odds.

It will be a huge loss to not have Ben playing and it will hurt the Steelers but I still like their chances playing at home in this game. Can the Ravens come in here 3 years in a row in the regular season and win?? That's a tough deal and I think a lot of it is going to depend on how Joe Flacco plays. If the Joe Flacco that has played on the road this year shows up at Heinz Field Sunday night I think the Ravens lose, if the Flacco that has shown up the last few years in Pittsburgh shows up the Ravens chances of winning are pretty good...Another game where Flacco will get another chance to prove he is indeed elite...
