So excited to see him get his first regular season touch down.

I am expecting big things out of this guy.

He looks really good out there. He still has the occasional rookie mistake, but having both him and Rice in the future should be fantastic. He plays a lot faster than his 40 time shows. I'm excited to see what he can do going forward. He deserved that TD.

I think he made up for his mistake today when he followed it with a touchdown

I hate to bring up the negative, but do you guys think that PF call on him was a good one? I don't.

But yeah, glad to see him with his first TD. He's doing great.

We have our next franchise runner when ray hits free agancy on four years. I liked the pick At the time, I'm loving when I see him run.

It was a legit call, he got too feisty when the Browns wouldn't get off him. The Browns got away with a lot of cheap stuff, though, not the least of which was Phil Taylor holding under Yanda's leg as he got up.

Doesn't matter though, just more yards for his TD.

Rookie mistake.
This is one of those mistakes he likely will never make again.

That was such horseradish. Even I could tell he was grinning under his helmet. That said, we've been getting in a bunch of shoving matches lately. It felt like there was about to be a fight after every play.

I love Pierce. Perfect complement to Rice, and he's faster than he appears. He's gonna be big for us down the stretch.

I was a bit skeptical when the team drafted him, but I'm already convinced he's going to develop into a quality player.

Now the skepticism can turn to... How the heck is Cam going to get him the ball when he can't even get it to rice

He's looked impressive thus far. I like his decisiveness. Very little waste movements. He did miss an open hole at the end of the Browns game, which followed to a stuff, but he's still a Rookie. Apart from that, he's looked the part of a very capable spell back.

For a sec, the kid has power like AP and speed like CJ.....

Wouldn't go that far.

He reads defenses very well, hits the holes hard and has very good balance. As a former running back myself he impresses the heck out of me. I consider him a stud.

It's potential but to become the one as expected is another thing......potential is bust or make.....

I liked pierce a lot before the draft. What I was most impressed with was his ability to make cuts without loosing speed. He is doing a great job displaying that with the carries he's getting.

2012 was a great rb draft, there might not be a rb class like this for years so i'm glad we were able to snag a back like pierce.

I agree with the principal, but Adrian Peterson was arguably as powerful in his Rookie campaign as he is now. And Chris Johnson was as lightning fast in 2008. The mental part can always be shaped and crafted, but physical attributes can only be improved so much. Bernard would have to make outlandish leaps and strides to be in their category in those two attributes. In my opinion, potential has to be a bit more feasible.

If he wants to be the best, he has to beat the best; if he isn't setting his goal to compare with one of best RBs in the league right now, he won't go anywhere. Good example is Arian Foster, undrafted free agent who came into the league with bottom expectation, and all of the sudden he is listed in the catagory of AP and CJ who are 1st round pick.

If you are an NFL player, you are already considered potential, but if he wants to take himself to the next level, it takes more than just physicality; mentality will push someone off the limit just like you just said...

If I have Ray Lewis' mentality, I think I can do something more useful for myself and the society....

PS: I wish I move my lazy [profanity deleted] into the gym.....

Bernard looked very good yesterday. I had a thought that if we could have franchised Rice and gave Bernard a year two get some reps that would give us a very fine option because i think Bernard is going to be very special. The guys heads right up field and his speed looks like he could break one and outrun the defense. almost like Peterson. The one thing i want to see though is if he has the great hands like Rice, Rice has great hands.

Is great to know we have a choice and even if and god forbid that rice gets hurt we have a better then average guy waiting. Although i do think that Leach has a lot to do with both of their runs. Vonte is a great player and i am so happy he is here.

I agree with every one of those statements and, unfortunately, the last one as well. But this still has very little to do with your original statement, as the two attributes you've described were purely physical. You've stated that he has the power of Peterson and the speed of Johnson, and in truth, he isn't near either one in those respects. Very few players in this league are. If he was, he would probably be the best RB of all time. Personally, I'm not a strong believer that players who've already spent numerous years building up their bodies can monumentally improve their speed and power through simply sheer will power. If this was the case, every player with an elite work ethic would have completely redefined their strength and speed. Out of the backs you've named, he's more reminiscent of Arian Foster in that he's a smooth runner. While Pierce isn't necessarily a bruiser or a burner, he still makes his way through contact and is decisive as a one-cut runner. That's a great complement within itself.
