Bench Ngata

I know that people say "everyone is banged up this time of year", but it seems like Ngata is really hurting.
If we cant win without him for a few games, then we probably aren't playoff material anyway. I dont want to jeopardize the logitivity of his career over this. I get that he is tough, but frankly, we need to let him get healthy again.
Thoughts?

But Harbs should've said no.Haloti came back in the Texans game after he hobbled off - his own choice, obviously
The game was over, and risking it was stupid.
Benching him for the next week depends on the seriousness of the injury, which we don't know.

I agree, it did nothing for him to be out there but he's a competitor and must not have been feeling too bad.

It's like when people got all angry at Harbaugh for putting Jimmy Smith in as a special teamer during which he got hurt his first game playing; but that's football. Nobody could have seen it coming, and it doesn't change the fact that he still had to play and unfortunately got hurt. He came back and what's the first thing he did? Play special teams. Professional!

This is football, not teacups with the Queen.

That right there made me not want to read the rest of your post. The doctors know what they're doing!!!!Anyone think that benching Ngata for a few weeks is a good idea. I dont know much about his MCL or shoulder injury, but it seems like we are running him into the ground by letting him play.

i agree on this one, they should sit Ngata and reed for that matter, to heal their injuries for playoffs.

Disagree with this line of thinking.
Yeah, we're 5-2. Yeah, we're second in the AFC and first in the division.
No, the playoffs are NOT guaranteed. Our team has not been playing like a 5-2 team. It is more than possible for this team to melt down. I'm being realistic here. Why would we rest players for the playoffs when it's not guaranteed we'll make the playoffs? We'd have a lesser shot of making the playoffs without Ngata and Reed.
I'm not saying we won't make the playoffs, rather we shouldn't act like we are automatically in the playoffs.

i was thinking resting them for the 2 upcoming weeks vs browns and raiders, lingering injuries to Ngata and reed could end their season or effect their play.

Agree, to a point. I think if there was one game we could ease up and chalk up the L (before even going into the game) it was against the Texans. I would've been all for benching Ngata for that game if we approached it that way. Losing Lewis and Webb the week before, and given all of the motivation the entire Houston community had to beat us in that game, no one would've been (or was) surprised by a blowout. However, if we entered that game with the mentality that we would field the best effort then the best players needed to play.

Yep, those doctors sure know what they are doing. Im all for "tough guys", so lets have Ngata go out there and blow his knee out because he was too tough to admit that he shouldnt be playing.
Just because guys have pride and a high pain threshold, doesnt mean all warning signs should be avoided.

They don't?
These are the same guys who get Sizzle on the field in 5 months - were you chiding them then?
