The return of Terrell Suggs is going to have a major impact on the run defense. Suggs was able to play more than half the snaps against the Texans which helped improve the run game. After the bye multiple things will happen.
1. Sizzle will most likely play nearly all the snaps in a game. I think two weeks is enough for him to get back into football shape.
2. Having Suggs back allows Upshaw to rotate with Kruger on the opposite side. This means much easier opponents for Upshaw (who shined against solid Left Tackles) and a more rested group of OLBs.
3. Ngata will heal. I don't think anyone understood the significance of his injury on the run defense. Once he got injured is when the run D got so bad. Hopefully he will return to full strength after the bye.
Why the run defense will improve drastically after the bye.
