Kicker Of The Future?

5 posts in this topic

So i'm watching the Florida State/Clemson game today(Huge FSU fan so i watch all the games i can). This time of year is when i start to pay closer attention to possible draft prospects and guys that would be good for the Ravens. So i'm watching the game and all i can think about is how great it would be to have Graham Gano as our future K. Now it is only at the college level but this kid is just as automatic and reliable as Stover. He has a huge leg and seem to be just as steady on the 50+ FGs as the shorter ones. Not only that he consisently puts the ball inside the 3 on KO, with most going into the endzone. Now remember in college they KO about 5 yards deeper then the NFL. Not only that he is also the primary punter for FSU, but his leg never seems to get tired.

I don't think he will be drafted but would love to have him as an UDFA. Now I don't think we should, nor do i want to get rid of Money Matt, but i know one day father time will catch up with him. Gano would be more like a weapon then just a kicker. He can easily hit from 50+ and has hit from 60 before. Here's a video of him in H.S(couldn't find college tape)

I think Gano would be a assest to the Ravens, and like i said a weapon moreso then just a Kicker. He can KO for touchbacks, he can consistently kick 50+ yarders, he is very much accurate on FG attempts, and not to mention he can backup Koch if need be.

What do u guys think?

We most certainly need to think about bringing in a fresh kicker next season, whether it be this kid or not is anybody's guess at this point.

Kicker of the future. That's impossible to pick. It's like a needle in a haystack.

Yep Steve is looking like he might be a good pick-up, now we have to see if he can be consistent.
