Finished. That was definitely the best Halo campaign since Combat Evolved, if not the best one in the series. I'm really impressed, the story finally meant something again. If I had to nitpick anything, there were failures in music and sound design, and of course the guns are far too similar across all three factions.
Yeah but you have to admit they finally sound like they can kill things.

In the middle of playing the campaign now and imho it's an absolute hoot! I admittedly prefer campaign mode and this one does not fail. Reminiscent of the first "Halo-Combat Evolved" in that strategy and planning are important and I've never used outside sources to complete them, but that's just me. A lot of my friends are digging the on-line play as well. Looks like MS studios and 343 have got a solid hit on their hands. Off to kill more grunts...peace!

The guns weren't that bad, but I can't stand the sound the Warthog makes. Discounting the fact that it runs on hydrogen fuel cells which probably wouldn't sound like that, it sounds like a dirt bike. If that was the Mongoose that'd be alright, but on the Warthog it's just so wrong, and the way it sputtered gave me a headache. And the music was pretty terrible. They should not have abandoned the theme, they should have modified it. Uncharted does a good job of this of subtly changing the main theme for each setting, and they should have just 'teched' the main theme up, if that makes sense. There was no guidance to the music, and only once did it seem appropriate.

I've been hitting the multiplayer today, and it is just fantastic. I love how the CoDification was adapted for the Halo universe. It's not quite like CoD, in that outside weapons do come into play, but I like being able to start with guns I like a mod myself out a bit. I'm leaning towards calling this the best multiplayer in the series, but it's probably a bit too premature to say that.
I actually liked the music from a musical point of view. However I do get what you're saying in that they should have included the theme. That being said, ODST does not have the theme and in my opinion is the best soundtrack in the entire series. To each their own. I really like the menu music, but Halo 3 had a better menu track.
If you go on the Halo Forums all it is are Halo noobs who say it's a disappointment. I think it's the best Halo MP I've played in any of the games since 2. H3's MP I found to be kind of overrated; the maps were great for the most part, but custom games was really what kept that game alive. I enjoy most of the maps, definitely a step up from Reach. The only thing I would change is the DMR's rate of fire. That thing is kind of OP. Definitely picking up the map packs.

I've been playing the entire series starting with Reach. Now I'm playing Halo 3 (just playing campaign story only). I've enjoyed playing the series thus far. The overall story (from a game playing perspective) has continuity. Can't wait to play Halo 4! Should be fun once I get there lol!

Beem playing Halo 4, love everything they've done with the game so far. Love the multiplayer aspect of the game. Spartan Ops is pretty sweet when you're not in the mood to play PvP.

Imo they should've done this with ME3
