Ok so i know we have pretty good corner backs but just wondering if we should draft Tryann Mathieu since he draft stock is going to be tumbling after another drug incident. He has talent but he just doesn't know how to stay out of trouble.

Also just wondering guys did Cary Williams only sign a 1 yr contract extension cause im not really a big fan of him.

thanks!

Cary William signed his tender so he's here for at least this season.

As for Tyran Mathieu I wouldnt mind drafting him. We need safety depth, but I dont think the FO will.

Why draft him when he'll start missing 4 games, then more. He's obviously not going to stop doing drugs if he's already missing this year, supposedly in rehab and still gettin' popped. It would be a waste of a draft pick in my opinion. Before all the drug talk, absolutely would have said grab him at some point. Now....no way.

if a guy like Burfict goes undrafted, there is no way I see a team spending a draft pick on Tyrann Mathieu.

As a UDFA why not take the chance but I really do think he is at the edge of being 'undraftable'

Mathieu is a way better player than Burfict, but the Ravens tend to stay away from players with questionable character.

I would draft him in a heartbeat, but thats just me. Dude's a playmaker.

His stock is going to be pretty low. I would really consider drafting him because of it. He won't be close to home anymore if he comes up east. This teams atmosphere has changed some players for the better in the locker room, so why not take a chance on a elite talent player?

I'd draft him late, he's in rehab for cannabis? What a complete JOKE! I know tons of people that smoke weed occasionally and are fully functional members in society. Some of the nicest people I know smoke weed. Just because the government says its wrong doesn't make it a bad thing, its on the verge of being legalized anyway. I'd be more concerned if he smoked cigarettes haha.

Obviously it isn't a smart de cardiovascularly cision speaking; however, I have no doubt he's a good guy, and he's got talent. I'm pretty sure a few guys on our team smoke weed anyway.

I don't want a 5'9" pot smoking cornerback. The only thing he could play in the NFL is the slot, and Webb already does that better than anyone else (assuming he comes back at the same level next season). Additionally, our secondary has enough lapses in coverage with using 'performance enhancing drugs.'

He just got arrested for possession. I would be surprised if ANY NFL team touches him after this....I highly doubt even LSU will let him back in the fold.

There's a lot of really good NFL players that smoke weed, or at least smoked weed in college. It really should have zero bearing in the evaluation process. As long as the kid says the right things in interviews there is little to worry about.

Clearly, you must not realize how simple is Mathieu's plan. It's pretty evident from his behavior that he is auditioning/wants to play for the Detroit Lions. I think he has a future there.

I'd still like to have him here, especially if he fell to the 7th round.

Well vontaze burfict went from first rd pick to an UDFA because of personal issues and hes now playing like his talent showed in college. In fact hes playing much better than our own courtney upsaw.

Mathieu was a heisman canidate corner. Those arent exactly a dime a dozen. I would certainly give him a chance with a 4th rd pick

The dude got caught with pot...come on man, who on this board has never smoked pot before? Dont tell me you cant play football because you smoke weed. If Dock Ellis can pitch a no hitter while on LSD then Tyrann Mathieu can play corner without even any weed in his system.
