Ok for once I am glad to be in Colts country! Please be careful and as safe as possible. I've got tons and tons of people to worry about all up and down the East coast. Y'all are in my thoughts.

I call your Colts country and raise you a Vikings country.

This could get very ugly. It caused deaths in the Bahamas already.

Is this supposed to hit the entire East Coast? I look outside where I am at in NC and the winds are heavy(somewhat like in warm up mode or something)

It will affect most of the east coast and inbound. You should check out the weather channel sometime.

First bands are starting to come in and we're supposed to have high winds and heavy rain for 3 days...lovely. The "worst" isn't even due until Monday night. Looks like I'm hunkered down until Wednesday. Roof, don't fail me now.

In my area if we get hit like we're supposed too we could lose power for like 10 days. That never happens up here. I'm ready though.

300 mile swath I think
More than that...more like 800 miles I read this morning.....effects will be felt all the way to western Ohio (yes I'm glad I'm one state further west)!

I felt like such an ogre yesterday when one thought was 'Gee I'm glad I'm not at home.' and then the next was 'I kinda wish I was at home...the flooding will be epic.' Horrid I know, especially with the knowledge of how devastating the Irene/Lee one-two punch was to York County last year.

I don't know which is worse...being in the line of fire or being out here and being freaked out worried about my family and other people I care about.

And I checked the Weather Channel....already raining on the native soil...outer bands of rain already hitting eastern and central Pennsylvania and points east.

Prayers for safety.

Dry so far in central NC. Breezy and a bit chilly, but all seems clear. Radar shows we shouldn't see any rain until late afternoon or early evening. This might not be TOO horrible, guys...

Don't read into a lot of the hype. Is a storm coming to the East Coast? Yes. I'm not buying into the whole "Superstorm" thing though..

I think I'm more concerned about losing my internet than my power. The generator checked out this morning so (crosses fingers) that should be good to go. The one wire that runs above ground to my house is the FIOS cable. That one I'm worried about. Too many trees nearby.

A BGE rep. said that residents should expect power outages to last 4-5 days due to the windy conditions preventing crews from getting started until Wednesday at the earliest.

Just got back from my Walmart run. You'd think the world is ending. We're gonna get like, showers. And some wind. And that's it.

A gust of wind did almost slam my car door on my leg though... that wasn't fun.

Really? Remember the hurricane last year, my power was out for three days. Thank god for the nice SF weather.. (9.0 Earthquake strikes, they bay floods over, then it magically begins to snow) I need a new living situation.....

Yeah, I saw a report on Twitter...

People seem to be taking this storm lightly, and I think that would be a mistake.

Changed my flight from this evening to one this morning. Someone told me when I was walking through the airport that BWI is expected to close. Eek!

Stay safe everyone!

I've been hearing that we may be getting about 16 inches of snow out here in Frostburg. I'm gonna be in hibernation this week.

5,000 watt power inverter, Suburban and long extension cord = massive generator with ridiculous run time!!

Forget these dumpy little 2,500 watt generators with 6-8 hour run time!
